These series are so well organized with easy to understand breakdowns to tie in with examples of the cinematographic greats. We are all lucky to receive this information for free!! In fact - the series is becoming a popular reference and shared in my industry (vfx/animation). Even though we're using virtual 3D cameras all these principles can be applied even down to the lens choice, as we are able to copy the specs to mimic the "real-world" lens.

Great primer on lenses! I think it needs a point of context when referencing focal lengths. All of the numbers quoted are correct for the 35mm format. Change the sensor size and the relationship to focal length will change. A 50mm prime is a standard lens on 35mm full frame and kind of standard on APS-C. The same 50mm lens would be a telephoto on micro 4/3 and a wide angle in IMAX (and probably have significant exposure falloff at the edges of the frame of IMAX as well). Test your gear, learn, and know what it can do for you... and have fun!
