Lets be honest, Sentinels are exactly how they should have portrayed Darwin in X-Men First Class, that incredible ability to evolve and adapt to any form of danger.
Darwin’s adaptations aren’t always for combat like how the Sentinels are though, like that time he tried to fight the Hulk and his power teleported him to the opposite side of the planet

@@Raizk_ Yeah his power goes all over the place. One time Hela (Goddess of Death) touched him (normally an instant kill move) and Darwin’s power turned him into a God of Death so it wouldn’t kill him.

I remember seeing this in theaters and being absolutely horrified at how easily our heroes were literally being torn to shreds in an epically brutal way. It did such a good job of showing you how high the stakes really are.
I watched this as a kid, and the worst part was watching colossus get beaten to death, that shit was vivid, made my cartoon watching ass sick almost xd

Somehow giving these characters super brutal, and visceral deaths without having gore makes it more disturbing to me than something from Deadpool, Logan, or even a show like Invincible.
Like seeing Colossus ripped in half, or iceman straight up melted is horrifying.

It does not help that everyone who showed any sympathy for the mutants, fought for their rights and was most likely part of the resistance are wiped out. Whole countries were destroyed, mass genocide on a grand scale, leaving legit the worse of humanity alive. 8 billion humans most likely reduce to a few million at best.
Edit: o yeah they also killed everyone who could give birth to a mutant.
It's nearly been 10 years and the special effects are still phenomenal
It just goes to show that we have reached a level with CGI where the tech is no longer the limiting factor, its the artists who are making it. I swear, the CGI for Avatar 1 was better than 2 and it came out 14 years ago.

Nope. Trask tortured and killed mutants and experimented on mutant genes hence creating the sentinels that have a mixture of the mutant's different abilities. Mystique's genes are also included which makes the sentinels copy their powers.
It either means that they kept Emma's DNA after they killed her following First Class, or the Sentinels managed to kill Emma Silverfox from Origins sometime after the Mutant vs Human war begun

Those future sentinels are an absolute nightmare. Brutal, ruthless, relentless and basically unbeatable.
I think the best way to beat them would be to force them to assume a material that is weak to another power. They can't be two at the same time

Tbh they had some good plot armor. Sunspot literally has the power of the sun, but couldn't melt a sentinel in rock form? You can see a lot of badly damaged and destroyed sentinels from the Jet explosion aswell, so it's very inconsistent.

Tbh the guy that got lifted from behind into the beam was the most horrific one. It displayed them as cold machines just perfectly, they don't care about if it looks cool or not they just kill them
I was wondering recently why the Sentinels were capable of absorbing mutant abilities, but unable to absorb bigger abilities like Super Speed, Telepathy, Metal Manipulation, and more. That is, until I realized that the only abilities we are shown in the film that the Sentinels are able to mimic are purely appearance-based imitations (Steel Transformation, Extreme Heat Transformation, Extreme Cold Transformation, Diamond Transformation, Darwin's Adaptation, and Protruding Blade Nails), hence they can only alter their own physicality in response to threats.
Now I just need to figure out how they managed to make those advanced Sentinels without metal for Magneto to control, and how they were able to mimic Mystique's abilities so well and produce so many Sentinels with her abilities without killing her during experimentation, since she was alive in X-Men 1, 2, and 3.
That's why they were experimenting on Rouge, they wanted to be able to have the sentinels be able to steal all powers.
That's because mutant gene is based off on science...sure the science of celestials but still science
Not only are some metals non-magnetic but with the right circuitry they could perhaps manipulate electromagnetic fields in such a way that cancels out Magneto’s. Or they could be just so strong in atomic structure that not even Magneto can bend them?
The timeline of the X men movies is a bit janky. Personally I don't mind, as movies like Days of Future Past and First Class are awesome even as solo movies. And Logan is a masterpiece. And I can safely ignore the existence of movies like the Dark Phoenix and Apocalypse.
They have both Mystique's and Rogue's DNA embedded in them. When Mystique was captured in the original timeline, she was the key to the Sentinels creation as they couldn't withstand the abilities they absorb because of Rogue's DNA. With Mystique, they was able to adapt to any ability they acquired. It is also said they aren't made of Metal at all, while it looks metal it is a material that Magneto can't control.

It's not so much as power absorption but rather the ability to change their exterior to a particular substance thanks to Mystique's DNA. There was one who instantly became rock when being shot at with fire because rock doesn't burn. You also forgot to mention a couple weapons. The first model has machine guns as a weapon and the future model has hands that either change into a spike or into claws. Those are weapons.

Dude, seeing two sentinels tearing Colossus in half like a plastic toy always messed me up.
The sentinels are basically just mass produced Amazos from DC. Cold, terrifying, badass and overpowered as hell.

Anyone noticed the irony of the machines designed to hunt? Mutants ended up wiping out everyone except for the fuse surviving pockets of mutants
God the scenes of the X-Men dying are so absolutely brutal! One thing I love about X-Men is the amount of body horror is inherent to having these weird powers, and this scene turns it all up to 11. Colossus' head getting dented in and Bobby/Iceman literally melting away as you see his limbs get thinner were the two that really got me.

I think Mutant Power Opposition would be more accurate since instead merely replicating the powers used against them, the Sentinels are adapting and developing powers that can counter and defeat their targets

Before this video I never knew that they found the team's location in that Chinese temple because the sentinel's arm was onboard with a tracker 🤯🤯🤯
In laymans term the jet (when in normal jet speed mode) has its ultrasonic wings un-compacted like when they first took off, so when they got close to the Chinese temple the wings should've un-compacted from supersonic speed to normal jet speed for landing and released the sentinels arm somewhere near the temple but not on the aircraft as they land.

In the last scene here you see that they have already killed Emma Frost, which we have seen in the movies but also Rock Slide, a mutant we have not seen in live-action.

You miss something honey? No uh, Rock Slide is Power from Darwin on First Class Movie who had abilities can survive in any condition! For Xample when he can breath underwater like fish! His been killed by Sebastian Shaw when tried to help Angel Salvadore/Tempest the lady with dragonfly wings!
@@giosy0072 The first Sentinel turns its body into crystals like Emma Frost. And the second Sentinel turns its body into rocks, Rock Slide's power.
@@ganeshapatywardhana5610 However as you said, Darwin died there, the Sentinels could not have copied his power cause they werent invented yet. Moreover, Darwin's power activates when he needs to survive something, the Sentinel changed its body by itself. Lastly, Rock Slide was scrapped from this movie, indicating maybe a scene where the Sentinels kill him initially and then the they use his power.

@@kibaakamaru2354 I don't think they could do some of the things she does since they're not actually sentient or self aware. They are just complex combat programs. Plus it seems like they have to at least touch you. I'm pretty sure Jean grey could erase all of the sentinels with a thought.

Thanos is at a completely different tier of power. At certain point no matter how much you "adapt", you can't overcome a pure cosmic powerhouse being like Thanos. Dark phoenix or Scarlet Witch for example will completely overpower these sentinels.
If it’s just Thanos + his army the Sentinels would probably take it given the powers they have access to. If Thanos had the stones (power, time, or reality) he would be enough.

I do wish the sentinels of the past looked more like the comic and saying things like "Surrender, Mutants!" things like that, but I am glad this incarnation of the X-men got to fight them at least once. I have no doubt they will appear again if they are being worked into the MCU now.

I had a thought when I saw the movie. Wouldn’t it make more sense to use Rouge’s dna to make these Sentinels instead of Mystique’s? I mean Rouge can literally temporarily copy mutant powers by touching them but Mystique can only shapeshift. Correct me if I didn’t get it right.
They did use Rouge's dna along with Mystique's in the alternate version of the film which is the Rouge Cut
in tge first x men film mystique shape shifted into logan, which meant she was able to copy loans claws. This means she can copy most mutant abilities
They originally got mystiques DNA which allowed them to make these sentinels, in a different version of the movie they were also experimenting on ROuge during the movie so they'd be able to steal all powers.

So if you never watched X-Men , Sentinels is a weapon that made by the US in the 70s to kill mutants (people with superpowers).
Usually when films take liberty with comic characters, it’s pretty dumb but these future sentinels were so well done and scary af! Perfectly fit into the story with Mystique as well! Just wish they found a way to make them look more comic accurate but we did get the prototype sentinels in the past but woulda been awesome if the future ones looked more like Nimrod or something.
So the future Sentinel is made from the base of Rogue (Absorb power) and Mystique (Shapeshifting) powers.

Honestly, when I watched this movie in theatre a few time ago, I had tears on my eyes, whatched all of them died horribly by the fuc*in Sentinels, Imagine this movie franchise was accompanied me when I was elementary school until my 30 years now.
Bobby Drake can't be killed like that, he can use the moisture in the air to reform himself...
He probably didn't learned such ability yet, in the previous movies all he could do was to freeze other people, until he learned to become ice himself and freeze with more power.

How would it be if the Sentinel Nimrods were going up against: Juggernaut, Apocalypse, Rogue, Jean Grey (while taken over by the Dark Phoenix), and/or Sebastian Shaw?
Sebastion shaw would technically be protected against the physical stuff but future sentinels could do psionic attacks if necessary it seems. Juggernaut can be killed by sharp stuff. Rogue can still be stabbed. Jean grey either attacking long range or psionic.
I hope the sentinels return in avengers, Kang, dynasty, and secret wars where the Kang dynasty uses them as their own personal army

The first action scene was the most hardcore/darkest thing I see about superheroes as a child (no regrets)

also they only ever seem to have the power of the mutant they just touched and yet they are a swarm intelligence, so anyone of them should use any of those powers they already decoded all the time instead of just reverting back to being overprized copy machines.
Imagine the Sentinels from this film vs. MCU Dr. Strange and Scarlet Witch or DCEU Doomsday, interesting Fight/Battles, don't forget they can counter react to any ability!
