Those limitations are set by studios that can’t compete with Nintendo and their development team. Gameplay > graphics. This has been known. The switch isn’t holding back anyone. If it was, we wouldn’t be here discussing this 10. The creator has once said Zelda isn’t about realness to life or high res images. That’s not what Zelda is about. I’m pretty sure the dev team is more than happy with their achievement.

Just a heads up about the frame rate. Digital foundry put out a video of the new patch this game will get, and it keeps the game at a steady 30 fps for a majority of the time. Few times it goes down is with the new ultra hand ability and maybe other instances
Yeah, it’s happened more than you’d expect. The problem is that nostalgia-blinded critics see all games as immediate masterpieces. Don’t forget how Skyward Sword has the must-play label from its praise, despite now being regarded as one of the weaker games in the franchise.
Got my tunic of the wild for the first time in master mode this week, first green tunic ever for me in botw and now this game is gonna be in my hands at midnight, what a week.
What impresses me most is how the map feels so familiar yet it’s so much more immense and different. 60 hours in and I’m still discovering new shrines and caves everywhere.
This game looks monumental. Can’t wait to play! Edit: I’ve got my hands on it and it is, definitely, monumental. Better than BoTW in every way I’ve been able to compare them so far, and that’s saying something. A masterpiece among masterpieces.
This is one of the most impressive games I've ever played. The fact that it's on a switch makes it even more so. The freedom in his game kind of reminds of Divinity OS 2, just a more hands on version.

IGN's review for Skyward Sword: "Not only is this the best game on Wii, but it is easily the best Zelda game ever made" "It redefines the way we play games" "It's not even enough to say that this is the best Zelda game ever made". "10/10" Also IGN: leaves it out of their top 10 Zelda games
Siofra and Ainsel river in Elden Ring were my favorite places because of the aesthetic of the night sky underground so I'm sure the underground will be my favorite in this too!
The comments make me laugh… “It’s just a glorified DLC” “It’s boring” Blah blah. Yet…It’s literally getting 10’s across the board from every single respected game reviewer. It’s literally one of the best open world games ever made and one of the best I’ve ever played. It makes BOTW look like child’s play in comparison.
when the reviews have an average score for games of like 8/10 , giving high scores on stuff like warcraft reforged.. Why you using that as an argument again ?
Zelda series have 4 titles with a score of 10/10 by the biggest reviewing websites. And a link to the past would make it for 5 titles. Can we all agree they are the biggest game series of all time?
Was worried to see the comment section overflooded with people saying the game is garbage but seems to be fine. Cool. Nintendo and maybe Capcom and some others are the few ones still caring about game play, I'm glad video games still exists in that sense.
It's not well made, it's a corporate review from a channel that gives positive reviews to every major game studio so that the studio gives them early access to release reviews before the release.
The reviews of this game prove FPS doesn’t truly matter in the larger picture of things. It’s funny this game struggles with frame rate yet gets a 10/10? But if another non-Nintendo title has fps drops it’s a large game breaking problem that gets picked at. It just feels reviews are not consistent with one another and something is going on behind the curtain.
LMAO at all the hate. Nintendo made a game 2.5 times bigger than BOTW on an almost 7 year old console. Go make a better game and then you can complain.
*now that I've completed the whole thing* The way TOTK welcomes creative playstyle is beyond impressive, regardless of whatever permutations/combinations player comes up with its all functional for the most part Open world traversal in TOTK is such a multi layered action i.e. better than any open world game in existence, it could be its own game *But the game has so many glaring flaws that wasn't even mentioned here,* TOTK adds 12 new overworld enemies & 8 new bosses which is very poor in terms of enemy variety & wasn't nearly enough to fill the world properly, the depths probably being the most underwhelming area because there's nothing unique to encounter down there except one Frox enemy. Even the unique dungeon bosses were repeated Despite the tutorial sky islands being the pinnacle of game design, the rest of the sky islands are essentially samey landmasses & are quite sparse. Bulk of the sky islands are basically "bring the stone shrines" and gacha zonai machine The temples dont hold a candle to classic Zelda dungeons despite being somewhat better than the divine beasts, some of them were awful in terms of Zelda standards

Idk what you’re talking about? The developers made a masterpiece with what they had. This game just proves you don’t need hardware to make a great game.
Graphics isn’t everything. Jedi survivor is beautiful but it’s still a pos buggy mess of a game.
Now that all other big games like ff16, diablo 4, baldurs gate 3, ac6, spider-man and a couple of souls-like have come out, im confident to say that totk is game of the year. 2023 goty is a bloodbath tho. Not an easy year to pick who wins because of so many S-tier games.

The reviews of this game prove FPS doesn’t truly matter in the larger picture of things. It’s funny this game struggles with frame rate yet gets a 10/10? The way TOTK welcomes creative playstyle is beyond impressive, regardless of whatever permutations/combinations player comes up with its all functional for the most part
Open world traversal in TOTK is such a multi layered action i.e. better than any open world game in existence, it could be its own game
*But the game has so many glaring flaws that wasn't even mentioned here,*
TOTK adds 12 new overworld enemies & 8 new bosses which is very poor in terms of enemy variety & wasn't nearly enough to fill the world properly, the depths probably being the most underwhelming area because there's nothing unique to encounter down there except one Frox enemy. Even the unique dungeon bosses were repeated
Despite the tutorial sky islands being the pinnacle of game design, the rest of the sky islands are essentially samey landmasses & are quite sparse.
Bulk of the sky islands are basically "bring the stone shrines" and gacha zonai machine
The temples dont hold a candle to classic Zelda dungeons despite being somewhat better than the divine beasts, some of them were awful in terms of Zelda standards
