I have watched you since 2016, when I moved to a place that put me into a deep depression. I stumbled across your videos and it was like watching a friend that I have never met. You have always been a happy light in my day every time you post since. I have had a lot of loss (death of parents, family) in my life in the last 9 years and that has made my inner light so dim. When I watch your videos, it gives me hope every time, that I can make my life beautiful too again. I am currently listening to your book and live in the States and love it so far. December 2nd, me and my sister are taking a trip to London and the Cotswolds for the first time. I am SOOO excited to channel my inner "Lydia" and take it all in! I hope I can bring back something that will change how I view life right now and fuel my passion for life again. ❤ Thank You for sharing your life throughout the years.

I'm sorry about your losses of family and depression, I have been there myself but you can do so much better than look up to these pair of narcissistic, shallow bottom feeders, their lives are more empty than anyone else's, they crave attention for being upper class but truth is they are just the same as anyone.

Hi Lydia, I begun watching your videos when I was about 24 - 29 years old. In the later half of those years, I found myself wrapped up in a horrible relationship, the person had a lot of problems and his problems became mine. I tried everything I could manage to maintain a standard for myself but slowly my self worth was diminished to nothing and so did my standards. I remember sitting at home, whilst he was out, watching one of your vlogs, seeing your relationship with Ali, the way you treated each other and spoke to each other, and thought, this is what normal looks like, and I should expect normal as a baseline. I had felt so trapped in my relationship and in that life, I had felt like there was no way out. And as I watched on, I was thinking I would never have “normal” . I felt so trapped, I went into a panic attack. I eventually realised I deserved love and respect and found a way out. Fast forward 5 years, and I find myself immersing into your content again, and it suddenly reminded me of that sad moment. I had completely forgotten that panic attack but thinking back, I also remember it vividly. All of this is a reminder of all the ways you had inspired me. Today I realised I have absolutely everything I had always dreamed of. The most loving, caring relationship, we’re almost finished building our home, he is my Ali I had wished for when I had that panic attack.
This is such a long message but I needed to say thank you for sharing your life as to me, it serves as an inspiration for what I can achieve.
I’m asking Santa for a Ali Gordon for Christmas what a gem he is 🥰

I live in the USA and we sell tree collars here that look like galvanized buckets but they don’t have bottoms and they wrap around and create that illusion all the while your tree stays put on a solid surface.

I’ve seen the galvanized bucket/tree skirt options here in the US… Lowe’s for example and smaller versions at Target/HomeGoods
You would need drainage holes in the galvanized tub to use as a planter anyway but you could line it with landscaping fabric before putting your soil in it. I love the tree with the tub under it! The pearl jewelry is beautiful!

I had this dilemma until I got the vice xmas tree holder - just grips - it is amazing. Those stands useless. To be honest as soon as I lived on my own the tree became so easy. I get a large real one it is put in plastic and easy - get it upstairs and in magic holder and done. I have it for 5-6 weeks and clean up after getting downstairs on my own. I put it in the garden and it gets collected. Easy. No one to quibble with and I love the whole process after sharing with a partner which made it more complicated.
This style with the Christmas tree is such a trend here in the U.S. this year. I like it a lot!

Great video, you and Ali are such a lovely couple. You always know when my dad's not in the house, he's in his second (favourite) house (Tool Shed). Tell Ali that 'billowing means ‘of fabric - to filled with air and swelling outwards’. Just note I would love seeds as a gift, I think it's a gift that keeps giving. Blessings

I find that as the seasons change if I just change my artwork and my florals in my vases just those two things make a huge difference.. throw in a couple of seasonal candles and pillows and wallah the house is ready for the new season

Ali reminds me so much of my husband and my dad. They will figure out a way to make whatever my mother and I want work, lol. Like this weekend, I'm wanting to swap out chandeliers from our old house to our new one. It requires extension ladders for our new house😑. So, I'm sure there will be lots of cussing, possible small injuries and maybe a trip to the hardware store, lol. And he probably won't be talking to me by the time the evening rolls around 😂. But when he's done, he'll ask me if I'm happy, I'll say yes and he'll say, well I am glad, lol. And get a beer........

Ali just cut an oval-shaped piece of ply that sits inside the tub at the height you require. You could put bricks or blocks of wood to sit beneath the ply to hold it up. It would have saved you drilling into the poor old antique tub☹️ You could have even drilled holes in the ply that correspond with the feet of the tree, so it's more stable

I suggest you get a living Christmas tree, it will look gorgeous in your kitchen and then after Christmas you can plant it in your garden
She got the fake ones, because they’re reusable. When I has a kid, we had a very good quality fake tree for 10 years or more. No one ever knew it was fake, because it was so well decorated. My mom, like Lydia focus on the decorations. Sometimes we’d ask for a real tree. Then, we’d miss our “family tree”, which was fake.
In America, galvanized tree collars are all the rage!!
Also when you were talking about pearls I was starting to feel I picked the wrong wedding pearls and then… you pulled out the dainty pearls (exactly what I have) and I was so excited!!! And need the earrings to match
