People don't realize that this guy cannot catch his breath after every sentence. He is incorrectly teaching the way of hitting and it is pissing me off. You are supposed to be connected and then your bat speed and where you hit the ball on the bat will determine your power. If you snap your wrist, there is less bat speed. There is another problem. He is jerking his head like he wants to look at his sisters' titties. He cannot see the pitch when he swings and will most definitely 98 out of 100 times miss the ball. He is a disgrace to the baseball name.
If people look at the original Babe Ruth swing, his was light years ahead of everyone else in his era, doing exactly what this video is talking about. For me, I was coached so wrong for decades where it took so much rewiring in my head to get closer to this but when I don't revert to old habits, this works ridiculously well and I and sit fastball and think longer if I want to swing or not 'and' get the extra power. I still play in my 40s in different leagues but still face 90 mph sometimes and I needed to adjust. Doing it his way, I improved my distance at least 60 feet, if not more. My only issue is sometimes I'm a little sloppy and the launch angle it way too high (cutting up too much) and hitting like 70 degrees sometimes. But again, when you do it right, it just feels different... like everything feels on the screws. I just wish I had this when I was young, instead of learning "squash the bug" nonsense.
Just joined a men’s league after 22 years of not having played. I was operating from bad 90’s but slowly tweaked things here and there from his video. Didn’t exactly hit well, but I did make warning track on a 1-1 pitch with 2 outs and bases loaded with a deep left field porch. It was promising that I can fully break down my swing this offseason to rebuild it.
I think they are both kind of right. Hands high. Weight back. Load around the back hip. Stretch. Whip the bat, but Whip the bat behind you. Don't push then Whip. Start the swing with the whip. Pull with the lead arm while the top hand guides. Swing out from your body and not around your body... boom. Hit dingers.
I have always enjoyed the content produced here. Not sure if Teacherman himself responds to questions, but I have one here: How is it that you keep your shoulders square and your head on the pitcher while also coiling and turning? I like the thought about turning into the back leg, but it isn't realistic to turn your shoulders to face 3rd base (as a lefty) as the ball is coming in. What is your feeling on that?
I think I can see the difference, look at the his hips, with the “Push” it looks like his hips are swaying. Compare it to the “Pull” his hips only slightly move and everything, including hips, look connected with his entire swing.
YO TEACHERMAN!! Proof you’re right about how to get your bat to velocity… this bat broke at the thin point without even touching anything just sheer speed 😂 ruclips.net/user/shortsg1yxNkNCDg0?si=aqtEIkfOJ3tHHkE4
Then what was Ted Williams talking about when he said this: “A push swing, an inside-out swing, fully extended, the hands ahead of the fat part of the bat. “
Pre year 2000 there was more of a lowering of the bat before the bat move forward with the weight shift, this is faster in physics, due to brachistichrone curve, I'm not sure why we have eliminated the linear weight shift here
This video would lead you to believe that unless you "coil" around your rear leg, you'll have a push swing. Very misleading. Numerous great hitters (including Pujolz & McGwire) did not coil around their rear leg. Pujolz, in particular, was a strider who had significant forward momentum towards the mound, who then used his front leg to "brace" and balance his swing. Far too often, these HLP videos are over-emphasizing that you need rear legged coil or should be avoiding weight transfer. In fact, introducing rear legged coil adds one more level of complexity to the swing that makes getting the barrel into the zone tougher. Think of John Daly swinging a golf club vs. Ben Hogan. If the goal is to get the bat in the zone more quickly, focus more on adjusting hands (up or down) and slotting of the rear elbow. If this is coupled with letting your hips open (shoulders stay closed) while your head stays down, the swing is fairly straightforward. Also....there are frequent references to a "push swing", but it is unclear what a push swing is and why it is problematic. Explaining the subject matter is important here. Teaching "unless you do what I do, you'll have a push swing" leaves a little to be desired.
Well said and it's why I can't stand this guy. Terrible at explaining his thoughts, and literally any other theories or techniques are "low level" etc.
Leg pushing is what I'm struggling with. When I get the leg pull right, I hit balls to the warning track for easy triples with my speed on the bases. What I need to work on is consistently driving my swing with leg pull.
People don't realize this is how you properly keep the barrel in the zone early & for a long time. Pushing the barrel is the worse thing you can do

Can you look Disc golf backhand form? would love to hear your take on that form. Many of the same mechanics

Base Ruth struck out alot two.... hank arron was way better hitter with the opposite aproach

For me the push seems to come when I wrist snap incorrectly.
I taught my 8 year old little girl your signature swing and she hits about 15 feet further and is very consistent.
Thoughts on Jaime cevallos?
Great understanding of swing mechanics

I’m a believer Rich!
One video you talk about leg and the next you talk about coil which involves the hips can't be both ways...power is hip uncoiling

The problem with this swing is there's no outside core muscles of the stomach allowing any bat depth.
Gracias mañana 15 de septiembre estaré entrenando e mejorado aunque no se inglés 😅
This knowledge helped me cure autism.
It’s a lever. The butt of the bat rotating back towards you levers the barrel forward.
Dear Teacherman,
As a Yankee fan please offer some free lessons to Anthony Volpe, looks very pushy and disconnected.
Thank you in advance
Why would he do it for free? Volpe makes enough money to pay and he's still a poverty hitter.
Lol and why wouldnt the yankees pay him.. if hes such a good hitting coach.. because its nonsense
That because u not rotating your hips and line your feet straight
Should teach judge how to not strikeout as much😅😅
YO TEACHERMAN!!

By leg, he must mean hamstring.
🤔

Bs u cant high or mid pitches with that swing u pop or strike 80 percent of the time

@teacherman1986 looks like your friend Jeff Frye canceled his account or blocked me 🤔 😂
Naw bro you just couldnt hit.
I think you should just teach taking the hands to the ball the bat does what it wants
