I agree that having a balcony on every stay is a major benefit to being a DVC Member. I can't even imagine being at WDW anymore without that hour I spend out there with my coffee every single morning.😊
I always love your shows because you have a great team - the chemistry is perfect. It is fun to talk and joke about my favorite topic - DVC vacations. I would stay at a studio if i could get the rest of the family to stay home. 😇👨👩👧👧👩👦🧑🤝🧑👫
I honestly started my DVC with a 2 bedroom villa @ Saratoga Springs and never stood anywhere smaller(except a Deluxe Studio @ Old Key West 2 years ago).
I agree one thousand percent with Amy and Derek that the metal balcony chairs are so very uncomfortable 😜 The most comfortable balcony chairs I found were the ones at Bay Lake Tower, very closely followed by the ones at the Poly 💜
Great show today. Thanks for the studio chat. I haven't read all the comments below, but as an fyi, there are 18 value studios on Jambo 5th floor; 8 pool side with pool view (if unobstructed by tall trees), 8 with partial view of the Sunset Savannah, and 2 looking at the front towards the parking lot. The 6th floor has the 5 concierge studios and 5 one bedrooms. 🙂
Riviera is the most beautiful and modern, and cleanest DVC room I've stayed in. And it's extremely spacious for a studio. AK savanna view studios are a dream, but the rooms desperately need a Murphy bed. I would love to stay in a Boardwalk view studio at BWV. BWV rooms need love too, but the property itself is so amazing I'm willing to overlook that in order to stay there 🙂. BLT is by far the worst DVC room I've ever stayed in.
Working with Derek right now on a BLT contract, yet he was oddly quiet during that part 😂 I agree with Pete, this RUclips channel might financially ruin me!
For the 3rd and 4th of July, you guys should vlog that! Even if it's like a 5 minute clip you add a regular show, showing the room and the balcony views of the fireworks!❤❤
Love that we got another reference to Derek’s beloved tiki lamp. I like watching the video versus listening to the podcast but wish we’d get visuals of the rooms being discussed (spider was a nice touch!).
Derek, I’m right with you Polly is the best especially at the Tokelau. Boardwalk is my second choice. Amy, contemporary is so cold. It doesn’t feel like welcome home and the parking lot ruins, theme Parkview … Panda I know your love, but unless you get a room close to the Skyliner, then you’re OK The one bedrooms at the riviera are gorgeous. But Polly and Boardwalk feel like welcome home.
Perfect timing! I’m trying to decide which deluxe studio to book. Also, cleaning the balcony and vacuuming is now on my list of importance. My daughter cut her foot on shattered glass at Contemporary. Not a good way to start our trip!
From what I’ve stayed in (most) and looking at the few I haven’t, I’d say Riviera maybe looks the best room (one I haven’t stayed in) with Saratoga second maybe. The new Boulder Ridge must be up there now.
Wilderness Lodge all the way and then animal Kingdom Lodge, because you take the resort in mind as well. Not just the room. But in size i guess it will lose though, but it's not the worse. We definitely want to try Polynesian.
Polynesian Lake View, Kidani Village Savanna View (What happened to Pete Werner) Old Key West is Great BUT because of the Layout, you get a Computer Monitor for a TV. I guess in 1991 - 92 TV's weren't what they are today duh!
i can tell you from experience the Polynesian are awesome we stayed there on one trip then moved to the universal Italian resort and for me it was a definite let down
PLEASE CLARIFY, Bay Lake top of the world access.... we rented points , stayed at 1 bedroom bay lake and were not permitted in the lounge as renters, and ONLY for DVC owners. Is this true, or were we denied just due to cast member misinformation??
The lounge is currently a benefit reserved for DVC members and their guests who have the DVC Y designation on their memberships status (own enough points directly through Disney to qualify).
that stupid boat horn wakes you up everyday at 7am at the poly and quick service smells like burnt metal. never again. nothing beats OKW 1 bedroom or studio for space. The new lobby is amazing and smells great! We like Saratoga too for its closeness to Disney Springs. Vero beach rooms with ocean view are amazing too but the hotel smells like a wet dog in the hallways. kinda boring hotel too. Good food at their restaurant though. Grand Floridian is awesome too. That 1 bedroom will blow your mind. top notch quality of materials used to build. Great flat bread pizzas! Animal Kingdom 1 bedroom is huge too. the parking sucks there though. The hallways are way to long. Wilderness Lodge will relax you and its quiet. The bus system is not our favorite having to pick up multiple resorts. takes too long. Beach Club is nice but smells like rotten fish from their restaurant. great location. Boardwalk is a great location too but just average rooms. Bay lake is small and not very Disney feeling but location is prime and The Contemporary is awesome to visit next door. Our next rip is at the Riverera for our 1st time. 200 point DVC members since 2007 with Saratoga as our home resort. purchased at $91 per point on sale at the time.
Do not agree with Boardwalk view studio as the best -was lucky one year to get a Boardwalk view (1 bed) - it was terrible, an enclosed balcony (didn’t know about those) surrounded by a solid wall - so claustrophobic - the only way I could see anything was to stand at the wall which was as high as my chest - certainly not worth the amount of points - didn’t ask for a room change as we were there only 4 nights - I did mention my disappointment at checkout ( in a very nice way )- CM told me to request open balcony next time - we all know requests are not guaranteed

The Polynesian is the correct answer.
There is nothing better than sitting on the balcony, in the morning, drinking my coffee. It's my quiet time before the family wakes up 😊
I’m camp Derek, Poly all the way.
I honestly started my DVC with a 2 bedroom villa @ Saratoga Springs and never stood anywhere smaller(except a Deluxe Studio @ Old Key West 2 years ago).
Old Key West is the best value. It has the largest rooms. It’s centrally located. It’s near Disney Springs.Price matters.
this is about studios - OKW studios are small and old
Great episode. Always fun to listen to you guys talk DVC and all things Disney.
I agree one thousand percent with Amy and Derek that the metal balcony chairs are so very uncomfortable 😜 The most comfortable balcony chairs I found were the ones at Bay Lake Tower, very closely followed by the ones at the Poly 💜
Woohoo our first dvc trip to the Poly is this weekend. I’m
Beyond excited to experience the poly as a dbc guest.
Best value overall is Old Key West. Awesome resort, large space, low points.
his is about studios - OKW studios are small and old

Well, Riveria is new, so...

When at the Poly, walking the halls at night is like being in a scene from The Shining.

We are currently staying at an Inn room at Vero Beach for two weeks. Absolutely perfect!!
Have fun Denise! I was there with the family on Friday and Sat nights and the weather was perfect! Should be warming up for you soon :)
AK savannah view!

The reality is... there are no wrong answers!
We like the Poly and the only negative for us is the room is a trip from the lobby and it's outside ⛈️
RR / Poly / VGF - split bath and > 400 sq feet - basically anything but BLT/CC (too small) or OKW is fine for a studio
Wilderness Lodge all the way and then animal Kingdom Lodge, because you take the resort in mind as well. Not just the room. But in size i guess it will lose though, but it's not the worse. We definitely want to try Polynesian.
17:35 - 18:21 That's Me, i try all the rooms at all the resorts but i always return home to Old Key West.
Polynesian Lake View, Kidani Village Savanna View (What happened to Pete Werner) Old Key West is Great BUT because of the Layout, you get a Computer Monitor for a TV. I guess in 1991 - 92 TV's weren't what they are today duh!
Yay Derek is on
AKV Jambo has 5 Club studios and 18 value studios.
Another great episode - would love to see Lauren back on camera - she’s great!
i can tell you from experience the Polynesian are awesome we stayed there on one trip then moved to the universal Italian resort and for me it was a definite let down
We are headed to the Boardwalk and requested a garden view. How I hope we get it!
We have a preferred view duo studio booked at the new Disneyland DVC Tower.
I love the Poly, BUT it's loud. Being right next to the TTC and hearing the boat horn on a regular rotation is a tough sell..
We stayed in a standard view at Tokelau and never heard anything. It was pretty peaceful. We were in the middle of the hallway.
How are these guys always so energetic and smily on a Monday morning? lol.... Unless they record it on a Saturday night
No young ones to deal with in the morning.
I'm actually one of the rare exceptions to that "once you stay in a 1-bedroom" rule.
Polynesian is my favorite but Boardwalk is close
just the room OKW (balcony) room and resort Beach Club the whole vacation at WDW poly
I swear the length of time it takes to speak about the sponsor, gets longer and longer on each of these episodes haha…
I’ll try to talk slower next week!😊
@@paulkrieger haha that would be fab! 😎

great spider!!!
Studios at Disney are more than a motel room. I hate motels. We usually like a one bedroom up. I love my space!
This was next in my watch later after the Last Week Tonight episode on timeshares, and I had to laugh. Love you guys though.
We talked about that episode of Last Week Tonight today on the live Pateon recording of the DVC Shows. It was wild.
Copper creek
So Amy is the only one who is right 😊😊😊

Too bad Studios were not originally designed with 2 queen beds.
Riviera is definitely not the best, it's just the new one.
