I was disappointed by our stay at Old Key West but it was mainly because my husband and I had two kids 3 and under a double stroller and we had put in for a room request either on the first floor anywhere or in a bldg with an elevator. We didn’t get the room request and it just made it super difficult to get up and down to the bus stops. It’s also worth mentioning that it’s a huge resort. We didn’t drive and I feel like a car would be helpful if you want to get to the lobby or pool or wherever quickly. The lobby was a 20 minute walk one way from our room. I will say it was a quiet resort and relaxing but that’s about it for us. I now do my homework majorly on any resort we will stay at
We stayed there for the first time on our last trip! LOVE how big the rooms are. Balcony was…awkward for sure 😂 I was out there while my daughter was napping and I could see the neighbors in their living room. Views were amazing! I could also see the golf course (which is where my husband was while kiddo was napping). We will be back for sure. I get why it has a soft spot in your heart. It’s a special place. You can really slow down there which is amazing on a Disney trip!
I'm in the no group! Not only does it feel like a moderate, it feels like the least impressive moderate. No great theming like PO, no Skyliner like CB, no great dining like CS. OK, maybe it's better than FW? I don't understand the comparison with SSR, which has a much more posh, tonier feel and great rooms. But you're right, this is for certain types of Disney travelers. And your view is particularly nice.
I stayed there about a week ago and the room smelled SO mildewy. They moved us and the next room was a bit better but still a mildew smell. Other than that this place would be a great value.
Unfortunately, I was disappointed with our stay at Old Key West. I wanted to love it, but I just couldn't. We stayed in both a studio and a one-bedroom over the week. I did love the space of the one-bedroom and got it for the same price of a studio at another Deluxe resort! Other than everything being so dated, my biggest complaint was the food options. It was very limited without a quick service restaurant and with it being Race Weekend, we weren't able to eat at other resorts as originally planned.
Very understandable. The limited food options has been a big complaint here. I wish there was an indoor dedicated quick service location, instead of the walk-up outdoor option. The price point of these rooms is truly amazing though 👌🏼
Thank you for your video! I just reserved a studio at OKW for the first time this summer. It will also be my first time traveling with my 2 year old daughter as a single mom and first time staying deluxe. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. You make it look so easy and fun!
I'm considering this resort for my first solo trip. Which area would you recommend me trying to request (i know requests arent guaranteed but want to request one anyways)

I wish the balconies offered a little more privacy 🤪 But yes, it’s such a special resort! You truly feel like you are on a beach vacation 🙌🏼
Staying here in less than 2 months and can't wait. I love the beachy Floridian vibe ❤
Yay! Have the best time! 🥳
I WISH ALL THE DELUXE STUDIOS HAD 2 QUEEN BEDS!! I love the space! Staying in August for the first time! YAYYYYY
Another couple of pros are the boat to Disney Springs, and Olivia’s, the restaurant there, is great.
Yes! Just sharing about the room in this video, but I have a full resort review talking about all of these amazing perks 😍🙌🏼
@@BekahHart Of course you do! Keep sharing the magic! 💫🧚🏰💖
I stayed at OKW last June and loved it so much that I bought a small resale DVC contract there!
Great video!! I’ve been wanting to see a tour of OKW.
Thank you!! 🙌🏼
I love the balcony view! Very awkward though with the closeness to people's rooms lol 😅
