Happy to announce i finalky started the lace pattern. Im on the right track. After 3 frogs. I decided its easy to follow the chart instead. Thanks
I just finished knitting your lacey baby blanket for my grandson, it turned out beautifully, (it's my first lacey large project!) Now im amazed at this life line technique it would have been a time saver as i had to undo many times,, lots of lines! next time I'll bear it in mind! Im so looking forward to knit this shawl for my 4 daughters, thank you for your tutorials! ❤️😘a
Thank you, Celeste!
Lifeline! What a great tip! Thank you so much for sharing that.
I had such a difficult time with my first lace shawl and I luckily had heard of a lifeline. It's so true. I used it throughout, even after I felt confident (just in case!).
This is BEAUTIFUL!
Thank goodness for this video !
Love this pattern. I printed it. Im ready. Please load more.
Thank you so much ...love the shawl ...👍😀
this is beautiful. I enjoyed watching your tutorial. I wish I could knit.
Cynthia Thurman, I guess I’m not the only one who can’t knit but likes to watch tutorials anyways. Maybe someday. 🙂
Thankyou, I can't wait to knit this!
Marybeth will you please add a Part 2 tutorial of this pattern. I worked this through five balls of yarn and finally ripped it all out. The pattern becomes much more difficult as inc to the 300+ sts. The pattern repeat breaks as sts increase, when near end of row directions say i.e. “until last 5 sts or until last 8 sts etc” the interruption of pattern can easily throw off count. It would be a great help if you worked pattern rows 1-9 once you’ve attained 300 sts. Especially showing how to do sts Sl2K in row 9. This is a beautiful shawl but pattern frustrating due to above. Tks Aurora
I had a question about this too. I am ready to start the lace pattern. It doesn't appear that the repeat will be complete before the last 8 stitches of the first lace row. Am I suppose to interrupt the current repeat and work the last 8 stitches as directed? Is that the plan for the entire patttern?
I agree. Need the tutorial for the lace pattern.
Thank you. I have not learned to read written patterns!
If only I had know of lifeline earlier, I could have saved myself hours of work on previous projects. Great idea.
Never heard of a lifeline before - what a fantastic idea! Can't tell you how many pieces I've totally ripped out.
Help. Im stuck on the row #9 of the border pattern
Can you help me,please?
Is it k3,yo k3,ssk. 8 sts.Marker
Yo,k3 m1 k1,m1,k3,yosl2k ki,p2sso. Is it 12 sts?
Yo,k3 m1,k1,m1,k3,yo,k1 k2tog k1 yo,k1,yo,k3,ssk. 21 stitches.
Thank you
Is there a revised vetsion.
Im stuck at #9 border pattern. Written directions dont match chart directions. Please help.
Thanks
Excellent tutorial, thank you.
I'm on row 2 or the lace pattern and I'm literally stuck. What does it mean to "yo as they appear?" Do I slip the yo over to the next needle or do I yo, then knit the yo from the previous row? I get it when it says to knit all knit & purl all purls but I'm stumped on the yo part. Pls advise. Thanks
I know you've probably figured it out by now, but I'm just going to leave what I think the answer is here for anyone who's also wondering. I think this is simply a case of ambiguity in the pattern, when it says "Knit all knit sts and purl all purl and yo as they appear to last 3 sts". What I think it means is "knit all knit stitches and purl all purl + yarn overs as they appear". That makes perfect sense because we're not supposed to be increasing on the WS rows, and that's what we would be doing if we did yo and then knitted the yo from previous row. As for simply slipping the yo, I don't think that's what it means because in the yo's we did before getting to the lace part, we were supposed to purl the yo's from the previous row on the WS rows.
I've just gotten to this part in my sample, so I'll keep going and find out if I'm right about this, but I'm pretty confident. If I find I'm wrong, I'll come back here and edit my answer.
To simplify, on the RS of your project, a knit will look like a knit. On the WS the knits will look like purls. So on the 2nd/even rows/alternating rows/WS of your project, since the knits look like purls, you have to purl most of the stitches. Since only one stitch from the repeat portion is a purl, only that one stitch has to be knitted every time you come across it. So the 2nd/alternate/WS rows will look like the following: "begin by k3, *purl all in the repeat pattern except the one stitch that was purled in row 1, that has to be knitted*, repeating until you reach the last three stitches, those are knitted. When I say purl all except the one, that includes the yo's because the person who replied previously is correct - we aren't increasing our number of stitches on the WS, only on the right side, and the pattern is based off of stockingnette stitch, so purling on the WS is a priority, except where the opposite is needed to get stockingnette stitch.
Do you have the tutorial for the heirloom shawl. Thank you
How to increase stitches at row 7 and 8
Is it like adding stitches Before and after 7 and also before and after row 8
Bonjour.
Does SM mean to place ypur msrker. Is how im reading it from the chart. Its s little confusing for me in the written instruction. Am i right?? Thanks
Gosh im already thinking if i should go on.
I think SM (slip marker) means to move the stitch marker from the left-hand neddle to the right-hand neddle.
@@melhassan thank you. Im still working on the 1st of the lace pattern. I started the lace pattern on the WS.ugggg. little confused. Now to frog & start again. I thunk of on the right track. Im better at reading charts. So i drew a big chart to follow.
Thank you for your reply.
What kind of needles are those may I ask?
Lovely! I downloaded the pattern and I want to work off the graph but the quality is very poor. How can I get a better quality graph? Thanks!
It is a horrible copy of the Graph "Chart". Has anyone made a new one? ? ?
Love it😘🌸🌸🌸
👍👍
Begining the lace pattern, what does SM mean? Thanks
Slip the stitch marker from the left needle to the right needle when you get to it. It should stay between the stitches it's currently between, just moved to the other needle.
👍👍👍👍
