Love the Ditko Shades. Got the run. Love his work. Thanks.
Keep kicking ass family!!
That Adams Flash #203 cover was incredible!
I had seen The Bride Casts Two Shadows, but never this one 😮
NEAL ADAMS covers are always worth showing.
I remember a lot of these books. Your videos keeps me interested in hunting and trying to find the books
Really want to see the warehouse of comics.
Love the direction of your channel, different then everybody on the tube…. That was a great flash cover
Lived the Flash comic. Congratulations on 3000. Thanks
That was a great showing of comics, it's good to see new things.
OMG, love that Flash 103, great Neal Adams cover. Glad I watched until the end. Love the channel and content.
Great high grade raw books shown today!! Thanks a bunch
Great video! Thank you for showing those beautiful books!
Enjoy the upbeat feel of your videos!
Love your comic choices. Comics I never seen before and starting buying your recommendations. Thanks
I love the direction you guys have decided to go in. Huge fan of raw books, never really understood the draw of slabbing. Amazing books that we don't get to see too often.
Love that house of mystery bat cover!
Yep Bronze and Copper all the way.
Great stuff as always! Horror comics... just some great covers...
Love you guys for the sole fact i learn about books i otherwise wouldn't know exist, and you don't just show the usual flavors of the week. Keep it up!
Way cool stuff, Amazing to have those in HIGH grade like that !!!😀
Phantom Stranger is one of my favorite books. Good blend of hero/suspense in the stories. And I like Doctor 13.
Loving the neal adams great show
That Phantom Stranger 18 has been in the background of my last couple of videos. I love it! Mine is only an upper mid grade but it is still awesome. Looking forward to your future claim sales!
I learn more and more about the real value that comics have from your videos! Those Charleton books are just SICK. Can’t wait to catch your first YT claim sale!
True
Dave Stevens is one of my all time favorite artists - Alien Worlds #4, World of Wood #1 and Airboy #5 are my favorites.
A lot of Flash covers are the BOMB!
So many actually!
Wow! Those are some sick books!
Happy Father's Day Dave, hope to tune in on Saturday for your claim sale.
Thank you!
Your claim sales are awesome!
Glad you like them!
Love those Charlton horror books
These are all books I have in high grade in my collection with a few I haven’t acquired yet. Your taste it PERFECT! Wrightson, Stevens, good Adams covers, they don’t have to be major keys!
Those are major keys to me!
Best comics channel
I love collecting obscure stuff as well. I find with collectors as they mature over the years, they gravitate towards picking up harder to find titles, just because they don't see them often - especially if they present nicely. Keep showing this stuff, it's great!
I love seeing the books you guys feature.
Just grabbed a copy of that Flash 203 with a Double cover. Love those ‘70s horror comics, and especially Charltons
I remember picking up several of those Gold Key painted-cover horror comics at Ripley's Believe It or Not in Gatlinburg, TN in the early 70s when I was a kid. Seeing those covers you showed brought back a flood of memories. Thanks for showing.
I just picked up a group of those too! Got some cool ones! I was a ripley’s fan as a kid and had a bunch of the paperbacks. Loved those!!
Love the content! Great luck this weekend.
The small Flash Gordon run crossed three or more publishers from memory....Gold Key, King Comics, Whitman.....loved artwork on this series which also had several artists....have set buried in collection from that period.
That window scene in House of Mystery 213 you displayed and my copy of Detective Comics 382 (Irv Novick cover 1968). same position same view.
Very informative I really enjoy your videos. Keep up the great work
Can't wait for the claim sale. Been practicing typing claim. Been a Big Fan snice day one. I think you had about 300 subscribers. So kinda crazy your already up too 3k. Yall definitely deserve it. Keep it up you will be at 300k before you know it.
I remember selling the House of Mystery comic with the bat years ago, I still regret it.
Keep putting up what you like.. That wall is full of killer books.! No pun intended..
Great books.
Congrats on 3K 🖖👍
My collecting is pretty focused but you cannot stop watch for all the interesting books, art, and background stories. Waiting for you guys to create a COA for those rare sales of books from the PC.
We seem to have alot of the same tastes in 70s horror or oddities. Recently got a Charlton Yang 1 with beautiful yellow background cover that pops in a 9.6 which I remember seeing at a woolworths in 1979 along with stacks of Charltons being closed out with store. Love the great content! 19:11
Love this stuff
great video love those horror books
That Alien Worlds #4 is a fantastic throwback to the EC Weird Science and Weird Fantasy runs. Love it!
Congrats on reaching 3k subs too! Hope to make it to the claim sale.
Man I love your videos. Keep them coming! Always seeing issues for the first time on this channel
awesome showcase :) i know for a fact that, when someone likes a book for their art and not the key, eventually someone else will also love the art of the covers.
Absolutely! It’s all about taste in the end.
Top notch content. I always learn something new from you videos. Also love the band tee shirts. Different ones every time.
Great video!
Never purchased off instagram before. I’m gonna try and find y’all over there.
Awesome covers. I stopped sending to CGC as well, too expensive now, gone back to raw books. You're right those sre definitely hard to find in anything above a 9.0, the war comics above a 7.0 is also hard to find, but I've got a few dozen of G.I. combat in raw condition mostly likely an 8.0
You are completely right. Raw books have the future, Slabs are only for the extreme valuable books. I have many high grade books with great covers and interior art from the 70 and 80 that are not worth much, but they are to me. I will never slab them.
I get it!
picked up a copy of House of Mystery #195 in 8.5 recently, love that cover!
Love the channel and im a Big Bronze age fan.
It amazes me how the early Marvel reprint series like that Captain America reprint one-shot, such as Marvel Tales (reprinting early Spider-man), Fantasy Masterpieces (reprinting early Silver Surfer), and Marvel Super-Heroes (reprinting Incredible Hulk) are all under appreciated by collectors. Modern facsimile reprints seem to have more juice than those reprints and I don’t understand it. Those reprints are similar to second printings of modern books, which are extremely collectible.
I’ve been collecting high grade Neal Adams and Dave Stevens books for years before they became popular. They were a lot more affordable than they are now.
So true!
Dave Stevens is the GOAT
Great books! FYI that Marvel Super Action series ran 42 issues and Marvel Adventure ran 6. Those Super Actions are very hard to find.
Thank you for the information!
Amazing covers and video today ... 🔥🔥
If that is to be obscure
I'm dark as f..😂 love that covers guys !!
Great books and great job .. I want many of those covers that u show print in my tshirts now 🤪☝️.
Glad you like them!
Hope you have a couple Skottie Young covers I can score during your sale on Saturday
We do.
The market is switching back to raw books over slabbed. In a lot of cases raw books are going for slabbed money.
You have some good deals on the claim sales, I like the horror but I would love to see some Sci-Fi from that age or earlier. Any coming up in the sales? Like those Alien Worlds! Also would love to see some raw SAGA or Futurama! I have that Phantom Stranger 13, had it graded at 8.5 after I pressed it. One of my favorite covers I own!
I am working with someone that I hope I can get some more charltons/gold keys from. I will probably have a claim sale of all books like that, but it’s down the road.
Bought Shade the Changing Man off the rack as they came out just because it was Ditko!! Won't let 'em go! Always thought they were cool and underrated. -And liked the bright colors on the covers. Ditko's stuff from the 70's has never garnered the prices of Kirby stuff. Affordable good books!!
Enjoy your videos and find you to be a kindred spirit in your interest in less 'mainstream' titles and artists ( except for the likes of Adams & Frazetta, of course). Over the years I've managed to find most of the books you've shown today (Corban is a favorite).
Thank you and your daughter's for an interesting and informative show.
Oh, any interesting Ploog books think your collection?
Not many. I have some Frankensteins with Ploog. I have had a lot of Ploog over the years, and really like his art. I had the entire marvel spotlight run at one point
I really like this channel, showing some amazing high grade raw bronze books. Man those are all killer books! I have all the Alien Worlds you showed and two copies of the special edition 3-D #1 with the glasses included. I bought Flash #119 cgc 7.0 a few weeks ago. Unfortunately it looks like a 5.5.
That's always a disappointment. You'll just have to upgrade it down the road if you get a chance.
I too am a Bronze Age kid - love those 20 and 25 cent cover prices. 🎉. Of late I have been really humming and hawing about submitting some of my “good stuff” to CGC, but the idea of spending $$ to “lock away” these beauties has always seemed kinda wrong. From a dollars and cents perspective it makes sense for some keys, but otherwise not so much. Your shift away from CGC submissions definitely gives me some important food for thought. As always I keep learning from you two, so please keep up the great work. My fave channel.
Sat 12pm ✔️ ✅️
I love your bronze age comics. I have yet, as I've mentioned before, been able to get in on one of your life stream auctions. I work two jobs. I really enjoyed the videos with both daughters. Now, as far as Rachel, does she have a boyfriend or husband. I just want an update on all things Future, Past, and Vintage.
Love the vids
I’m the guy that bought your Blitzkrieg number 1! I go in my closet in my plastic storage bin every few days and take a look at it. It’s being taken care of like a good daughter should be!
Bill Callaway has spoken.
Dave Stevens is the man!!!!
About 20 years ago, I ran across a few issues of "Alien Worlds" in a dollar bin. I thought, Why are these so cheap? Maybe it was the nudity or maybe the publisher did not have a huge advertising budget? I think I eventually found the entire run.
Enjoyed the video as always. When will you guys be posting a new video as I want some more of your content and running out of videos to watch of you guys lol 😂
Man, we are so busy that we just can’t get everything done we want to! We have a lot lined up. A video is coming today, and I am lining up some conversations with Danny and Ken.
So many amazing artists in this video, I’ve recently learned collect what you love not what you think will increase in value! Great video.
So much goodness in this video. Blitzkrieg #1 is a beauty. There was not a bad cover in the Midnight Tales run. Dave, have you ever been to HeroesCon in Charlotte? I just ask as it is finishing up today and I was there on Friday. Loved it. A true collectors convention.
I have never been!
But have you heard of Neal Adams? Love it. Keep up the awesome content.
I reduced my collection to a “core” of bronze and some silver keys”. Take out my X-Men (raw run of 94-166) and I have just 30 or so blue chip/grail slabs. This includes GSX 1, Hulk 180, 181, Werewolf by Night 32, Marvel Spotlight 5 and SO MANY MORE tier 2 books. But these shows get me interested to dig deep into the “off the run” titles that may be more exciting to own rather than “invest”. Most of the books out there aren’t keys and (in most cases) the art is better. I’m on the hunt for Phantom Stranger 14. In high grade only of course. Great show.
Great video. Thank you!
I've liked, subscribed and now I'm commenting.........and yes I've heard of Neil Adams.........I don't know what info you need from me to win.
Love the content. I'm 51 years of age (52 in July..... don't rush me......) so my likes and your likes OFTEN overlap. I blame Frank Miller's Daredevil run for this illness. DD 182 was the first book I bought and read at age 11 and I was hooked from there.
Keep up the good work!!!!
I love the fact that you are not doing unboxing videos. As far as I am concerned unboxing videos are just bragging and that is a huge turn off for me. The only time I watch an unboxing video is when it relates to a book that the host cleaned and pressed themselves that adds to the process. I also clean and press my own books and I love videos related to the practice of cleaning and pressing. We are on the same page when it comes to collecting. I really appreciate the weird books you show on your wall. If I see another copy of ASM 300 or the first appearance of Miles Morales on a RUclipsrs wall I will heave. Just more bragging. Your channel is hands down my favorite channel these days. I also love the chemistry between you and your daughters. Keep it up!
Thank you! We appreciate your comment!
I’m sorry I won’t be there for the RUclips claim sale, Rachel!! Dave, feel free to sell me all those Shade the Changing Man if you get tired of looking at Ditko’s crazy art! 😂
Can you please explain the difference of Copper and Bronze Age. What years are they or cover prices.
Essentially 1969 to 1985 is Bronze Age and 1985 to 2000 is copper age. Everything after that is modern.
14:06 so true
Very interesting...is 7.0 is (to you) the number to try to get for a super hard comic to find?
Actually, with greytone covers and some other keys from silver-age war books there isn't any high grade in existence. Romance from the early 50's is the same.
All those books are amazing looking! LOVE the older horror books. Definitely can't wait to see what y'all have this weekend.
I collected from 1958 to around 1971, and still have most of them. It's fun to see a lot of these books, and I may buy one. I'll tune in on Saturday for your sale.
OMG please tell me Alien Worlds and Twisted Tales are going to be up for sale!!! Im a Corben guy, we've chatted briefly before and him, i have that 4 part series, brilliant stuff. Im still holding out you'll branch into Heavy Metal at some point. Also not sure if ive asked in the past, do you have any Elric books? Anyway keep this awesome channel going, you guys rock
I have tons of Elric. I am holding them back until I can do a whole claim sale of independents.
Hey Dave, why pick up the obscure when books like JIM, TTA, St and TOS are so reasonable?
I get those too. I just end up selling them though. I have some keys I tuck away. The comic boom was a bit rough; I’m still recovering.
Hey congratulations on the 3k 🎉🎉🎉. Always enjoy watching you guys. Don’t add me to the giveaway; just wanted to say hi.
I have trouble selling comics in my collection, like older comics but still buy new comics and I’m quickly approaching my 60s (gulp) if I had the money I’d shoot for 1 million instead of my 5,000 collection, don’t like DC much except Batman.
How much is the Mighty Isis???
They aren’t out of line expensive, even in 9.8.
dave, you are a buying machine,......
i guess its kinda different than most, but i might like ditkos horror/sci-fi stuff better than spiderman.
what other 70s titles are super scarce in high grade,? i just got access to a large collection of marvel/dc and some gold key to dig through..........and it would help to know what to look for........
I think it would be easier to shoot me a list when you put it together and I can tell you keys or noteworthy books.
@@futurepastvintagecollectables thanks for your reply, its like a collection from 1955-1995,.....maybe 31 boxes,....ill just give it a go,.....but again thanks
Some of those Charltons look a lot like L B Cole.
They are really interesting and uncommon in grade.
@futurepastvintagecollectables I've had my eye on those Red Circle issues of Sorcery that have been in your recent videos, the covers really drew me in but the interiors are just as good, some heavy hitters penciling some of those stories and the writing is on par with what you would find in the Warrren publications of the day. They had another short run of a title called Madhouse that was quite good, too.
What is a claim sale?
Usually one book offered at a time for a preset amount. If you want one, you have to be the first person to claim it by saying take or claim in the chat box of whatever app you are using.
I like all those horror books - I’m sure you have one hell of a collection -
