Can you do a sample with a Yeti Tumbler ? Yeti usually have thicker coating which is why I'm curious about it.

No. Yeti does not like their drinks are being engraved by third parties.

Why is it black on the sides of where it was engraved?

The image was too big, so the laser couldn’t reach the sides. His image needed to be smaller without the rotary tool.

Too bad tech support is only through email and they won't help you, just say send video after video after their update bricked mine. Loved it until then though now a very expensive paper weight. after writing some bad reviews they finally contacted me and replaced it, most awesome machine i've ever owned for its price, love this machine, I just hope their customer service gets better because it is a nightmare.
