Thanks for this. Today was my first time playing - and I was host - and this was one of the videos I watched in prep (of course I read the rulebook too!). It took us a couple turns, but by the 3rd or 4th turn, we had the rules down, but then our eyes started opening to the deep tactical and strategic gameplay. Definitely a great game.
@@NinjaGeekGames maybe not a PERFECT plan, but yes, some of our tactics had to be adjusted on the fly due to warpstorm movements lol. I definitely enjoy the change of state of the board, to throw potential curveballs.
I own this game because I liked core ideas of StarCraft board game. As a revised version, it looks neat. More intuitive. But combat was convoluted in StarCraft. And it remained convoluted here as well. Third revision is definitely needed for this system to finally get it right.
I just got this game, it's arriving this week, an almost brand-new copy, with an insert, but never actually used, with unpunched tokens, dials and all. This was one of the videos that convinced me to get it, so I came back here to thank you, and re-watch it again. Have you got the chance to play this game again after 2 years since this video? Cheers from Brazil!
@@andrewbakescakes9684 I found a copy within a website here in Brazil that specially made for boardgames. It's like BoardGameGeek, but it's local, it's called "Ludopedia". So I saw someone selling a copy there for a VERY reasonable price and I didn't think twice.
one thing I'm confused by with this combat system (recently/finally tracked down a copy) I'll give a situation to better explain... 1st round of combat occurs, casualties listed, the defender has exceeded the attacker in terms of Morale - at this point, since the morale favors the defender, does the attacker have to retreat before the 2nd round begins?
Hi, thanks for watching. From memory battle continues until all enemy units are destroyed OR 3 rounds have passed (where the winner is that with the highest morale AFTER 3 rounds of combat).

That's great. Thank you very much! Sucg a good game. Anyone have the perfect plan ruined by a change in the Warpstorms?

Thanks for this instruction video! I always tell my friends to watch a tutorial because teaching this game can be such a pain.
Thank you. Yeah it's quite heavy and difficult for people new to the game but sooo good

Nope, combat in FS is amazing and the only thing I would change is the 8 dice limit.
