To all you keyboard warriors that do not do a damn thing but complain, please educate yourselves on construction and carpentry. The grout lines are because Alex used a non rectified tile. It is meant to look like that and looks awesome when seeing up close and first hand and not through an angled camera lens. Do Alex a favor and look up rectified vs non rectified tile before you want to tell someone else there work is crap when you most likely haven't done any construction, carpentry or probably don't even know how to turn a tool on but want to rip their skills apart. Use mapei grout refresh on that splash. That way you can change the color to warm grey or something to match better. And grout will be sealed. That's pretty cool! Hope the cabin build is going OK. I really like watching you figure things out as you go. It make me want to not be afraid to try something. I have similar tile. The tile is not perfectly straight. It has jagged edges to create a more rustic look. So the grout lines do not look straight which is intentional. It most likely looks good in person.
My OCD is kicking in on this one. The fact that one mirror is away from the wall and the other mirror is all the way over is a big no for me. Everything should be spaced the same. I understand there are others who would disagree but I would never be able to use a bathroom like that.

If you are replacing a countertop like this, try not to demo until you have the new counter ready. Then you're not stuck without a counter for however long it takes to build or get the new one
I think the difference in price with the sockets is mostly due to two things: 1. if it has QC 3.0 compatibility all the electronics inside are costly. Good quality QC charger is like 20 bucks or smth. If not, then all the AC/DC converters would add up idk maybe 5 to 10 bucks, 2. Demand, supply, markup all that nonsense probably adds up too. Regular outlets are just a different connector for the wire, so I guess that's where the price difference occurs.
Hey Mr. Build It, I've been loving your videos they're super engaging and well put together! I've noticed over the last year of watching all your most recent videos you often use the same music during the building montages. While its a great track, it might be fun to mix it up with some new songs to keep things fresh for regular viewers. This song played from 2:57-4:16 in this video. Just a thought.. it's definitely not something that's gonna keep me from watching any your videos but I figured I'd send you this suggestion and see if others would also like you to mix it up.
Lol. It's hilarious when someone with 10 subscribers is giving someone with almost a million subs advice. It's like taking financial advice from a homeless person.
I get it ya gotta post a video to keep things going but man, that tile/grout has got to be redone. Looks like a landlord did it. Sorry Alex, couldn’t help myself. Love the videos but damn.
It’s definitively pretty, sir. Yeah, but there may be a thing of two you have not thought of. Even though LED panels are very nice to look at, they cannot last forever. Most manufacturers have that very bad politics to set up “planned obsolescence”, a policy planning or designing a product with an artificially limited useful life. (Poor component qualities as example) Maybe you should have thought of a drawer panel under the LED to easily remove and change them when they arrive at the end of their live. Also, you have no ventilation, so the heat may accelerate the lifespans of them. An alternative t accomplish the same goal is the use of fibre optic with an external light source, easier to replace if needed. Still, it’s a very nice build!
Those USB Outlets are also regulating the voltage for those connections so they are way more complicated due to that. And $30 is nothing. The Leviton T5636-w 60W are $60
Might be missing it but eventually those LEDs will fail under the counter as all things do. Are you going to have to remove the counter to replace them down the road? I do really like the lit counter idea though. Looks pretty cool.
Install those GFI’s upside down mate. Pro tip. Helps prevent plugs from pulling or getting the pins bent if bumped particularly around the sink and high traffic area.

I've watched you for years. You still haven't learned to measure the wall or space first so you don't end up with a tiny sliver tile at the end. You should have cut the first row so it's a half tile that way the top piece is also a half tile and it doesn't look like an amateur hack remodeled your bathroom.

Not my taste, so I don't really like it at all. I liked it the way it was before. I like the big mirror that he took down - you lose so much utility with the smaller mirror and they make the room look much smaller. The tile and mortar is hideous - not at all eye pleasing. There is no way a little kid can see himself in those mirrors. The LED counters look weird because the lighting is so blotchy and the LED's will likely fail in time making is look more hideous. Why the big fake shrub arrangement on the counter? Not good in a bathroom - big dust collector - just looks out of place.

So, nobody has mentioned how he pulled that lighting fixture off the wall and separated the wires...while it was ON and LIT?
its only 120v though
I do that with 230v. Also worked on 400v in a similar fashion (not lights on 400v obvs)
Always makes things exciting
I definitely think the whole thing needs to be covered in LED's for this to work. Looks a bit weird with it just lit up in the middle
Gives me hotel bathroom vibes. Thanks for sharing!
Is it me, or does the grout look really thick? Perhaps because it's a dark color. Light grey might've looked cleaner.
He used spacers, you’re not supposed to use spacers on tumbled edge tile unless you want mega thick grout joints
