Jay!!! Wonderful series! I have Square on Sale and Nana and they are wonderful! SoS IS the best auction games. My buddy just got Iki so we're gonna do a Formosa Tea and Iki game night. Best of two countries 😀
Oh that sounds like a BRILLIANT game night!!!!
Sai Beppu NaNa FOREVER! A great wrap to this epic list! More games to add to my Japan shopping list. 😅
✊Nana Forever!! Thanks for watching & all the support! Stay tuned for next week when I talk about the best board games from 2023. Just cover the eyes of your shopping list so it doesn’t get even hungrier 😅
My husband's work is sending him to Japan in May and I'm going with! We'll be ok Osaka so I'll see if I can keep an eye out for any of these games while there!
Look for the local Yellow Submarine! You should find some games there!
I adore Iki. I got the 2015 version literally a week before the announcement of the reprint, and I also got the reprint just because. Very much like the old version look more, curious to explore the rules differences and vendor changes and see what we can/need to rework with the 2015 version to be the best it can be.
Oh, one step ahead of you. Simeon already wrote an article on BGG about the differences. Then, I played both versions in one day and wrote about my ideal way to play on BGG. 👍
Sad this list is coming to an end but great top 100 and thank you for sharing these games with us!
Thanks for coming along for the ride! But the journey is far from over. My Top 10 board games from 2023 is coming next!
Great series. Looking forward for more from other part of Asia!! Thank you for taking time sharing these awesome games!
Thanks for watching! If you're looking for other parts of Asia, you should check out my Top 20 games from Taiwan list!
Thanks for finishing the series!
And especially doing it with so much style during the last three episodes.
I own 25 of those 100 games and I've learned of 40 new games.
I was waiting for you to finish, so I can finally press the checkout button in my Amazon JP cart.
That must be ONE EPIC cart!!!!
Way to remind me that I should have picked up Crash Octopus in Japan last summer. Not like I didn’t regret it already after trying it at PAXU… May have to fix that this summer though.
Get it!! It’s great!!
The art for the 2015 “Iki” is fantastic.
I adore it!!
Ahhh what a great list finale and loved the video! Black cat spawn and watching you live was the top!!! 😂 Please keep more content coming!
Thanks! More coming next week!
Thank you so much for doing this Jay! I watched everything. On a recent trip to Japan I got Master of Respect, Rumble Nation Deluxe, and Come Sail Away all thanks to you. Now I wanna go back!!! I remember leaving a copy of Nukumi Onsen Hanjouki on the shelf in Yellow Submarine!!😂 seriously can't thank you enough. I want to revisit your list and note games I'll get on my next trip 😊
You’re welcome very much!! More and more games come out every year, so you’ll never run out of great games!
This journey, especially the ending in Japan was fantastic, well don Jay!
Thanks so much! It was an epic journey!
Loved all these videos! thank you!
Thanks for watching!
just found your channel, but very happy to realize I already own several games mentioned here :) I'm more in the loop than I thought I was. great video!
Thanks!! And good job being awesome! Keep it up 👍
Love your presentation and energy.
Great explanations.
Also..cool locations you shot at. Love the bamboo forest.
Now to look up some of these...
Thanks for watching!!
This is great thanks for this video now I have new games to learn and look for.
Thanks for watching & don’t forget about the rest of the Top 100 list 👍
Im going to Japan in a months time and super excited to get some board gamse when im there! Your channel is so underrated, I love that you cover this topic with such passion and quality
Thanks for watching & spread the word!
It's finally here!!! The video we've all been waiting for! 😻😻 Great video Jay! Really love Yokohama, one of the best! Still trying to find that copy of the number 1 haha 😹
Thanks so much!!
Amazing series - congrats on concluding it and whatever happens next.
Thanks so much & thanks for watching!!
Love the t-shirts as well. Several from the Uniqlo ukioyo-e series, right?
Thanks so much for putting this series together, your enthusiasm is infectious and clearly shows through. Making use of the different locations was also brilliant.
Thanks! I actually bought the shirts while I was there in Tokyo!
FANTASTIC JOB!!
Thanks!
Cool, I have 5 of these games! Wind the Film was the game that got me into collecting Japanese board games to begin with.
Off to an excellent start! Wtf is a phenomenal game.
Yo Yo Yokohama! I got this one! Love it.
It’s brilliant!!
I have a lot of games elsewhere in your top 100 but none in the top 10. Good shopping list when I go to Tokyo Game Market.
Amazing set of videos shot at locations all over Japan. Amazing.
Thanks!!
Finally! the best of the best. Great list!
btw ukiyoe is pronounced oo-ki-yo-eh (got confused for a few seconds)
Oh thanks!! I ran into conflicting pronunciations online!
Never saw the second game before. Thx q Jay
Thank you, Karn!
WOOOO TOP 10!!!!!!
OH YEAH!
Ok, so I am late to the party. Very interesting video. Thank you putting this together!
Quick question: Why would I need 2 copies of Iki to play the new edition rules?
Thanks for watching!
The new version has more fish and pipes available per season. You could just get the newer version, but you’ll miss out on the art style of the original.
Wow, I own three of the games here, thanks for putting up this list - I look forward to trying some of these games that I have never heard.
Absolutely agree with Nana. I don't think I've ever seen a game so good for how small it is. And the fact you can pretty much replay it in seconds with the near zero setup time is beautiful.
You're welcome (and you've got some darn good taste in games)!!
Passtally is another game I've always looked at and ultimately put back, I'm gonna grab it the next time I see it on sale for a good price.
Natsumemo sounds freaking adorable! I will def pick it up if I see it.
I always get recommended NaNa in my online shopping but it never got me interested from the description but now its going in my cart for sure! I also see Trio a lot but the art isn't as cute so that's why I never picked it up either.
Yokohama is one of those games I know I want but it always slips out of my hands! Hopefully I can get the new version at the very least.
I've played the new release of Iki and loved it! The older version's art has its own charm to it too, I'm not sure which one I like better.
Thank you for this list! I've enjoyed every single one of them, I own/played 15/100 of your list (+1 more since I've literally just checked out Nana in my shopping cart) and added a lot more to my wishlist for sure! Looking forward to your next videos as usual :D
Thanks for watching and the feedback! I love hearing about other’s journeys into Asian board games!
You’ll love Nana! It’s pure fun!
Alright, second post, now extremely sad that I don’t have Nukumi Onsen Kaitakuki…
It’s sooooo chill. My wife’s favorite game!
It was months ago now, but I was notified from the shop I preorderd the Iki ex from they won't be getting it anymore, something about the publisher not sending them to the US idk. Sad because I wanted it.
That’s painful. If you used a forwarding company that shouldn’t matter though, right?
@@CardboardEast Ordered from Miniature Market - based in Missouri. Not sure if it has anything to do with the ex, but MM themselves have been struggling over the past two years being what they were prior to being aquired by Asmodee. Quality of serivce has tanked. You can find stuff on BGG about others having issues with them. Again, may not be connected in anyway, but I've asked local flgs and they aren't getting it in either so idk
Nice Jay! Do you really recommend cat in the box at two players?
I like area control, so I definitely do. Although Hameln Cave is a better strictly 2p trick taking game.
Ooooh my god
I own 8/10, not bad!
Great minds!
Kuroneko! The deer sent you a black cat. Clearly the gods are with you.
The saw me out of the corner of their eyes. That day was glorious!
OH my goodness!! Was that cat staged??!
Nope. The gods just threw me a bone there.
@@CardboardEast How cute! I love cats and yes it was magical timing haha
Hello there! Can you help me with Monster Maker 30th anniversary remake? I sent you mail on BGG already
Hi, there! I responded already. My copy is on a slow moving boat from Taiwan to Tennessee, so I can't really help out right now.
@@CardboardEast Oops sorry, I still not used to differentiate evilpanda from cardboard east, I mistook it for different person. Thanks anyway
Well, I've only played 2 in your top 10. One is a classic, the other.....i didn't like.
Wooooooo! Beans are on the table! Spill them!
@CardboardEast well, Yokohama is the classic. I probably should have put it higher on my "top games that start with Y" list, but it is what it is.
When Missy used to work cons for Pandasaurus, we ended up with multiple copies of Passtally. I thjnk we still have one copy left. I do not enjoy it. I can't see the connections, I can never figure out what is going to score or how. I just find it frustrating!
@@eVanDiesel that’s fair. some abstracts are easier/harder for people than others. The tiles in Passtally just speak to me
Love this video... you are such a great resource, never stop please.
Thanks for watching! IKI 2015 is a little easier to find in Japan. I see it pop up at the weirdest place. You might be able to find one on Surugaya if you keep at it. Good hunting!
@@CardboardEast I'm even more intrigued by this Onsen game, that looks cute af
@@getgaymin It’s brilliantly charming
@@CardboardEast Your channel is going to be costing me a lot of money soon. But also bringing a lot of joy... I fell asleep last night to your voice and dreamt about chibi cat meeples.
