When I showed the other comments to my husband, who I actually honor and respect, he said it sounds worse than it is. He feels my tone comes from nervousness. He forgives my tone and loudness because he knows I have the utmost respect for him, and because I also am a bit hard of hearing. I once got an "AW POPPYCOCK!" from another Christian when she was telling me about a disagreement with her husband (over a tree, of all things). I told her, "Ultimately, your husband is the leader of your home, and you should respect his decision" I realize telling you this doesn't excuse my tone, loudness or word choice, but maybe it'll help explain it, and also my feelings as to my husband's place in our home.
I am sooooo Jealous. I would love a freeze dryer! I do love Augason Farm products for sure. Between the butter powder and whole egg powder, I have a nicely stocked pantry. Stay safe.
Butter powder is made from actual butter, nonfat milk solids, sodium caseinate (milk protein) and disodium phosphate (an anti-caking additive).I still prefer Red Feather canned butter - the taste is "Real Butter" because it is real butter. 10 year shelf life.

Hello again . i was reminded about CWD. Chronic wasting disease . it affects deer , elk , and moose. The only way to test for it is to send samples of brain and lymph node matter . FYI if you hunt or plan on hunting for survival
I dont like the fact that when I went to wash down the drain some that I used for cookies, it didn't disintegrate in hot water it turned into a ball that looked like plastic.
I ordered a can of this along with other dehydrated stuff for cooking two days ago from Amazon and the butter was $37 for the 2lb can then the following day they advertised it for $20 a can of 2lb. I ordered two more cans and I'm returning the first order for $37 the second I get it, do these prices fluctuate this drastically
The prices do fluctuate alot. I have a 'buy price' for most things. If I'm new to an item, haven't used it before, I'll use an app like Honey, it tracks prices for 30-180 days. You can also get a notice when the price drops. If I find a very low price, like when I got a #10 can of green beans for $10, I'll transfer budget money from one part of the budget to another. Then, I stock up. We bought 4 cases of those beans, that was 24 cans. We love green beans, we also can use them as barter, or even sell them for double what we paid.
Can someone help me??? This doesn't add up for me. Compared to real butter in the store: One pound of real butter is 3200 calories and 352 grams of fat. This entire can has only 7140 calories and 122.5 Grams of fat. For the calories and fat, it only equals about 2.2 pounds of butter or 9 sticks. I ordered a can of this thinking it was equivalent to 6 pounds of butter but now I don't think so. I used the serving size instead of the calories and fat for comparison.

Years ago I read about making powdered butter and milk: it's warmed and sprayed in a very fine mist in a chamber where the water evaporates and the solids collect on the sides of the chamber to be scraped off as powder. Definitely not a home process!
NO! as a matter of fact, I was reviewing some of my research from a few months ago in my Prepper Notebook, and I see where I had written that thei exact butter was $28.50! I'm so glad we jumped on this price and ordered extra. Thanks for stopping by, Penntucky.
I love the fact that you opened it up and reviewed this for us, but seriously, your correcting him several times, really got on my nerves and I had to stop watching. 😞
Augason & Emergency Essentials are the same company. 😃 It tastes like cheese?? Well, why buy cheese then? Just cover elbow macaroni with powdered butter. 🤣 6.3 Lbs of butter would make it a fair price and you don't have to worry about refrigeration. Blessings.
Well, this is one thing we really can't blame on him. The price is constantly changing. One person commented here that they purchased it right before this video for $37, then it went on sale. The price has always fluctuated a lot.

Would have been nice to see it spread on a piece of hot toast and then give us a taste test.
Does it melt on toast? Hoosier farms does not according to another review but they thought it tasted pretty close to butter.

Good video very informative. May I suggest you can always add a tiny bit of butter extract.
What's the approximate shelf life of the butter powder after you place it in a Mylar Bag?
I'm hoping for 30 years, I'll check it in 5-10.
what's the shelf life after it has been open?
I didn't see that information available on the can. The can unopened is good for 10 years, although I will keep mine unopened longer than that.

How? Lol, what was it about a powdered butter review made you think of sick deer?
Awesome review and breakdown, thanks!

from what i have seen so far its a good thing... when my can arrives i will know
I would think adding a few drops of olive oil or some other type oil would help it after you have it mixed up well.
That's a good idea, I'll try it.

It tastes like ghee, which I don't care for too much.
