Being Sick in America, SAME pill is 24¢, $2.90 or $9.27 depending on who Price Gouges Prescriptions
Hello my Preparedness friends. I have so much going on that my channel has taken a back seat. Today, however, I experienced something absolutely appalling. Maybe you've been aware of this for a long time. I knew shopping around for medicine was a thing, but the price range I found on one pill, 100 mg doxycycline hyclate tablet, was crazy. My prescription for my dog was for 120 pills.
The price quote from Walmart at $348 was the highest of those I called, but looking online, Rite Aid actually was charging $1113.00 for the same 120 tablets. The vet was charging $200. Most online places were charging 48¢ per pill. I have to give a shout out to california pet pharmacy dot com at 24¢ per, heal...

Fencing in Fruit Trees after they became Dinner for the Deer, Prepping more free food
Просмотров 1592 года назад
We added 6 more fruit trees to the orchard this spring Two Jon a Red apple, 2 Bartlett pear and 2 Anjou pear. I made a big mistake thinking the deer would leave them alone because they have an abundance of food elsewhere. Making fences for the trees wasn't on my list for today, but it quickly became the number one thing on the never ending homestead list. I used my goat fencing to cut 12' lengt...

What Happened When the Hoop House Got Too Hot, This was definitely a learning experience.
Просмотров 962 года назад
I was so happy to get a hoophouse. I'm now not so sure it was the best way to go. Having to heat it in the winter and cool it in the summer is both time consuming and expensive. Shade cloth will probably help the summer heat issue, and I hope it does. Having to remove plants so that they don't suffer heat damage is a pain. I think I would much rather have a growing room in or attached to my hom...

Getting Cardboard for the Garden & Dumpster Treasures
Просмотров 1072 года назад
I get my cardboard from a local dumpster where I've been given permission to pull cardboard from. It's a recycling dumpster, so meant for cardboard only. I have at times found other trash mixed in, but since I only go to the dumpster that holds recycling, I don't normally find treasures that dumpster divers normally do. This time was a bit different. While the things I found are things that I c...

The Plan in Motion, Our Hillside Stepped Orchard being Carved Out, and A slight change of plants
Просмотров 2732 года назад
Here's the continuation of our stepped garden, the hillside orchard. This video covers 2 more days of work, within 2 weeks of the last video. It was about mid October, and a beautiful day. I've also decided to plant aronia berries in the next row up instead of elderberries, and black raspberries (so far) above that. The persimmon will be close to the walnut with the elderberries, and maybe some...
The Plan for Our Hillside Stepped Orchard, It's coming along nicely, but just SO slowly.

Sorry this video is late. We are no longer working on the orchard until spring. This video was recorded on October 2. I measured and laid out where the steps, or the flat parts, will be. I could have planned for the planted areas to be flat as well, but i think leaving them sloped will help water drainage and reduce erosion from too much soil disruption. Here's the plan. Ok so I know some people know this but pokeweed is an awesome plant. It is the strongest antiviral natural medicine in the U.S. I have swallowed a dried berry(never chew them as the seeds when busted can cause severe abdominal pain) since covid started and I've never gotten sick(no i didnt vaccinate). Anytime I've tries to speak about the pokeweed antiviral protein I get kicked off of social media apps for "violating community guidelines". If you read into how it works as a ribosome inhibiting protein you will recognize that this plants proteins are mimicked by the Vax. Just the type of thing all peppers should know😊

    This fruit is edible, whether raw or cooked. It may not have a distinctive flavor, but it is completely edible and has many beneficial properties. The latex-like sap it contains is excellent for the skin - it leaves it feeling soft and residue-free. It's also beneficial for the hair.

    These are fried noodles and the fat in them turns rancid in a year or two, depending on the temp where you’re storing them. Pasta, which is dried noodles, will stay good for decades if packaged properly, so storing Ramens in Mylar are a waste of time, just buy the amount you will use in a year or so and rotate them, the seasoning packet definitely won't last in Mylar due to what is in them, thinking this will last 30 years just because it's in Mylar, I'm sorry to say is a bit crazy & uninformative on your part, also I see many people below here believing what your telling them & your 100% WRONG! research things better before you make a video, I have emailed the Ramen Noodle manufacturers, & discussed this in detail with them. Some foods like Flour will still be good after 15 years in Mylar, Rice for 30, others just a few years, research, research is the key, so please don't make these videos unless you know what your doing, too many stupid people listen to you.

  • @doubled473
    @doubled473 10 месяцев назад

    These won’t last 30 years, even in the Mylar bags and stored in a cool place. The reason is because the noodles were NOT freeze dried during production. They were dehydrated. They will however, last about 5 years after the good by date if stored the way you’re doing it. After that they will begin to smell and taste awful.

    • @PennsylvaniaPrepper
      @PennsylvaniaPrepper 9 месяцев назад

      I agree. The ones not stored in mylar have already been cooked and fed to the animals. This was mostly meant for 'share' food, it's now mostly the cheap decoy food. When I need space and have time, I'll cook the noodles for the birds and reuse the mylar.

      You don't NEED the monthly plan. You can save more if you have a lot of prescriptions by paying a monthly fee. You can get the discount just by asking the cashier at the pharmacy to check the Good Rx price. If they say they don't have it or don't offer it, call Good Rx and find a place that does. The cashier at Walmart was familiar with the program, but didn't know it could be used for animals.
