Yep, until as recent as the mid 20th century, left handed children were forced to learn how to write and do everything right-handed and were forbidden from using their left hand. Why? Who knows. It was barbaric. These kids would develop health problems such as a lifelong stutter, because of being forced to write right-handed. Reminds me of when my brother said "Well there was a sudden rise in gay people after pride started, that's not a coincidence", and I responded by telling him how there was a sudden rise in left handedness after it was legalised.
This is what pride is for honestly, for people who dont understand why it exists. It makes people who are queer feel safer about coming out and not lie about being cishet. Hence the “sudden rise in gay people”
As a left handed person it boggles my mind that there was a point in time where being left handed was illegal (seriously wtf) and as a queer person it's equally as confusing to think that something as harmless as loving another consenting adult or being trans/nonbinary can be criminalized. When you boil it down there's no logic, it's just mindless hate.
Honestly, the gay people who keep trying to shove the fact they're gay down everyone's throats by being obnoxious and doing that gazelle-ass voice are extremely annoying and I understand why some people think that way. Respect people's boundaries, as YOU would like them to respect your identity.

To an extend you are correct. But if I'm in a park with my kids and there are 2 gay men making out on a bench I would be concerned about the effect that sight has for my kids. It's a common knowledge that kids are blank pages and what they see and hear gets written down and their development continues based on that. Now. I really want to go to that park, and I go there knowing that can happen. Those gays really wanted to go to that park aswell, but they should acknowledge that they are a massive minority (95% of the world's population is straight) and hence should keep that activity for private places. I can be tolerant of their existence if they are not ignorant of their position within society. Do you agree? If I was a gay I would never kiss my partner in public, not because I would be ashamed (or maybe I would be, who knows), but because I understand that if I did it. I would make people uncomfortable, because I'm a minority and they are not used to that. Same reason why I'd wear eye patch if I was missing one eye even if it were less comfortable than not having one. Because If I had that revealed, it would make people uncomfortable. I hope you see my point.
@@lad4830 I mean, I can sort of get where you're coming from, but having a man and a woman make out on a bench can be very impressionable on children as well. And I'm pretty positive those statistics are false. NBC News conducted a survey, and it found 9% of adults across 30 countries identify as LGBTQ+. And, someone being a minority and being that minority out in the open shouldn't make people uncomfortable. (Unless they're making out, but heterosexual people shouldn't make out in front of kids either.) I'd be concerned about ANYONE doing anything remotely sexual in public. By making the argument that you'd want to hide some sort of eye patch in public, you're arguing that other minorities (such as POC) should want to hide that part of themselves as well. Same goes for people who are say, disabled. And missing one eye is not the same as being LGTBTQ+, so it's a strange argument to make. However, I can partially understand where you're coming from, but I think we should take in all the facts :)
@@lad4830 Any two people getting it on, on a public park bench is inappropriate, regardless of their sex. In that sense yes, you're completely correct that it's inappropriate for two gay people to make out in public. However, the secondary issue is that you're coming to the conclusion that your personal discomfort with gay people is a "them" problem, so they should "know their place" as a minority. That is homophobic. You need to ask yourself why it makes you uncomfortable, not put blame on someone for daring to be born not straight. Straight and non-straight people alike are entitled to the same level of socially acceptable public displays of affection. Your discomfort about that is a you problem.

I think it comes from the fact that sexuality is a sliding scale and for select people, it sometimes will change over time because your sex drive also changes over time. STILL NOT A CHOICE THO!! It's your body changing on you regardless of whenever you like it. I speak from experience, when I was a teenager I had a somewhat high sex drive and liked both genders, but then over time the sex drive changed and then it was like I became demisexual, as in I was no longer sexually attracted to strangers or everyone else based on appearances and the like, Now I have to get to know them better and bond with them before I literally feel anything. so I changed from hardcore BI to slightly bi-leaning demisexual over time. for those who don't know, Demisexuality is on the Ace scale which would mean I'm Aro-flux. It's really a mixed blessing for me, because there were times when I wished I had a normal sex drive. but then I hear everyone's dating woes which makes me thankful I have a low sex drive, because imagine having to deal with shitty people just so that you can get laid.

How about when you're too gay for some people and not gay enough for others? It's their definition of what's "gay" that is their problem. This happens within the gay community and online, as well as in person, and among straight people.
"Have you ever tried not being left handed"... actually, yeah, lots of left-handed kids were forced to do things right handed in the past. That can prove traumatic and lead to serious issues and consequences in a child's development... so the analogy still works.

Oh dont be mistaken my friend there are lots of hetero, and exclusive couples that are way worse for a familly than ever having fathers into poligamy... I mean Excluding religious reasons (wich you seem to do) there's no reason to not allow both of them. There are happy, and healthy families in poligamous cultures aswell. As for incest some people do it, from a reproductive standpoint its bad, but human relationships shouldn be all about reproduction. If the couple is int ogenetic counselling or anything like that i dont see a problem either... You see, if something works in the relationship of people that are consenting, i dont really see a reason why they should be discriminated in the civil sphere. I mean 3 people can raise a kid, its not unheard of, does it makes any difference if those 3 people are related by blood, by marriage, or by friendship? There's also another face on it, people shouldnt be prevented of doing something because its "bad for the familly" first, no one can tell you what is good for your familly, itsthe parent's job to decide that, secondly not every people want to form fammilies you know... some simply want to have the rights given by a court legal marriage, like insurance and things like that (vary by country), and start a life together.

don't believe me, you can look up examples yourself if you're so interested in educating yourself.
an example off the top of my head is birds, namely cockatiels. cockatiels, just like many other bird species, are generally monogamous by nature, and often only stick with a single mate for the rest of their lives, sometimes even ignoring other attempts of mating even after their original mate has already passed. there are video footages online of homosexual cockatiel pairs who display the exact behavior a heterosexual pair would with each other. one i remember being of two females, one of which had passed after a while, and even after a male cockatiel was introduced to the "widow"''s environment and attempted to mate with her, she simply ignored him.
you can ignore this as much as you want out of bias, but just know you're denying nature, science and many studies researches have made and shown evidence for. all of which you can easily find if you simply try.
regarding the term homophobia, though, it is not defined by the fear or anxiety of homosexuals, that's a huge misconception. it's the prejudice against homosexuals. if you don't like homosexuals or are disgusted seeing homosexual acts with no reasonable explanation, yes you are homophobic.

Homophobes and transphobes are unironically some of the most brainless and sutpid people istg..
Anytime someone throws the "being gay is a choice" bullshit at me, I ask them if they choose to be straight.
So I've been homophobic, semi homophobic, and about a year ago I've finally realised how stupid it is to be homophobic. Thus finally watching this video and I can say this is all 100% true and might've changed my mind sooner if I've watched it before.

I continuously responded by asking him "but how would gay marriage affect you?". All he could say was just that it offends him. So then by his logic, just because something is offensive to someone, it should be banned. Then why isn't straight marriage banned? Since it could possibly offend gay people, straight marriage should be banned. He proceeded to call me a liberal idiot who didn't know what I was talking about, and even went as far as to say I was going to hell for being gay. I'm not even gay. I truly don't understand people's logic behind not wanting gay marriage to be legal. Even if someone doesn't agree with it, it doesn't actually affect them. I even find it sad that voting is required to allow it. Voting is for issues that affect everyone. Gay marriage doesn't affect anyone except the two people getting married.

Gold finX Actually you'll be happy to know that there's more than 2 genders, there are even more than 2 sexes, because there's inter-sex people though.
The funny part is, the Bible does say something against men shaving their faces.
True

I got a huge beard, and I love that I have a beard, but tbh the Bible does say that it’s a sin not gonna lie
Tell me which verse does it say that?

Aged like wine
1:23 my parents have said that to me so sooo many times 😂 yet here I am still disappointing them every day with my love for star wars
my parents did the same when they found out about my love for Bible Discussion and Study Meetings but six years after a much unnecessary grippy sock vacation, I'm still on my bullshit
