@@sinskinner I cannot accurately recount the steps I took. I know I followed the instructions in the video (with iTunes). At first, my computer didn't recognize the iPad but eventually it came up and started downloading. I had slow internet connection so it took some time. I didn't know it was downloading until I saw a status bar somewhere on the itunes interface. Took me some one to two hours.
Do i need to use apple computer to fix this?

If you guys' ipads are data version, try insert your sim card there. I read somewhere this info and tried it and now finally it's got the latest ios version 15.3. Mine was also 12.5.5 before

Just turn off screen lock, pin code and screen timeout on Ipad... Keep screen on. Update through ITunes and then turn them on again.

I hate IPads Soooo much. One of my parents gave me one and the blinging thing won't install anything without wanting money, and anything NON Apple that's free its says "Must Upgrade". Then it won't let you upgrade!
Its also slow as molasses, and if you just breathe on the touchscreen crap pops up by itself. All I wanted to use it for was to wire it to a camera to use as a nanny cam, the stupid thing can't even do that I've been fighting with it for days. What a piece of junk.

This does NOT work at all. PLEASE DO NOT try this. You may think all these comments are "supportive" but they are just alt accounts created by the owner or bots or just friends. This is a complete waste of time.

not recomended. You could, maybe, install older versions of some APPs. Firefox for example get's no further development on security problems at older versions. So the ship is sinking. Better would be, to push IOS on a current version. But this doesn't work with the Beta-Test Channel, anymore. Shame on Apple.
