Good on you sticking to your guns with pricing. People under value our time with sewing. I always say they won't come and clean my house for $1. An hour , why should I labour's for that. 😊

It amazes me that some people wouldn’t work for less than $50 an hour but expect you to work for $10 an hour. They have no idea and probably can’t sew. Agreed good on you for sticking to your guns. Thanks for sharing. I really enjoy all your tutorials.

I had a customer as for a discount on one of my handcrafted items. I shared with her about my home-cottage and the time that goes into making my products. But she was persistent over $2. So, I asked her if she would give her boss a discount on her hourly wage or work overtime for free. She gave me a dirty look then left my booth.

People are funny, I used to do 3 hour sewing lessons for $20 and alot thought that was to expensive.
They just don't realise the amount of time and energy goes into things. One lady came for about 3 months complaining every time then left and I was only to find out she was teaching her own classes doing the same projects and charging more. I just wanted to share my knowledge just like you do. It's very sad that people are like that. Never mind life's like that but good on you for telling people what you think. (In a nice way).😊

Here’s a couple of my thoughts: the giant utility bags are so appealing because of the colourful large prints. The supermarket bags last forever, so people aren’t replacing them with new ones. Love your videos! Good work! 🇨🇦

    Hi Christine
Unfortunately certain members of the public are so used to buying cheap, poorly made products from overseas sweat shops that they don’t appreciate decently made items.
As you say, they wouldn’t work for just a couple of $$s an hour so why should anybody else. Keep up the good work
    Love your videos.😊

I wonder if you put some tissue paper inside the expandable boxed pouches, people will notice how large it is, and that it's larger than it appears. I've done that with my tote bags. I also sell more bags when they're hanging up. Your expandable boxed bag is as large as the other boxed bag, it just doesn't look like it at a glance.
I have to confess, I've made at least one of most of your tutorials. Some of the larger items I haven't as I don't always have enough fabric. I mix and match fabrics like you do, but I can only make a fat quarter go so far. I have to leave some fabric for Amish Star potholders and Bowl Cozies. I see people buying precut interfacing for both. Who needs a piece of batting, precut for cozies. You need two 10" squares, cotton batting on both, find the center on North, South East nd West, sew the dart, clip, then slap the two together, turn RSO and it's done after top stitching. People spending $40 for a piece of interfacing with the grid for Amish Stars. How difficult is it to draw lines horizontal and vertical, and diagonally. They don't send any fabric for the prairie points, or the insulbrite, just a piece of interfacing. I'm in the wrong business! I make my own patterns as well.

    • @ChristinesHomeAffairs

Laura, you could add a couple of inches both ways to the fabric and the zipper, and finish it the same way. It will make it longer and more spacious😁
