The hilarious thing is, anyone who doesn't watch Chris's channel will think you're exaggerating. We know different 😂 Well done on getting so organised and processed. 🎉
And right now Chris is teaching us all how to sell/list stuff on eBay! Both Christine and Chris are a fountain of knowledge and we are so lucky that they share it with all of us. I just love both their channels.
Christine, I also follow Chris’s channel and I have been impressed by his dogged pursuit of the back wall of his storage shed. I have noticed a difference in the mental attitude of men compared to women when it comes to stockpiles of materials. Men view them as a never ending treasure store that continually amazes and delights. As long as the emergency storage has a box in it the treasure hunt will continue, so why rush? Women, on the other hand, view stockpiles as oppressive, onerous burdens to be organized, used, and cleared out with no respite until complete. I formerly felt pressured by my unrepaired chairs, unrestored vintage tools, and lumber stockpile. But after realizing that I have a virtually endless potential for enjoyment, learning, and satisfaction, I am buoyed by visions of grandeur for the remainder of my productive life.
haha, I love that Elaine, and you've summed up our personalities perfectly. I'm learning to chill a bit as well now and do get a thrill out of hoarding and collecting 😀
Hi Christine, yes great video, thank you. I think most of us would admit to having a very similar situation in our own sewing areas. I feel that what happens when we get creative we pull things out of a stash and say, this would go with that, this would be a great lining etc etc before we know, it there's fabric everywhere. Then something takes us off on a tangent, we get distracted and then tidy up. That's when, what we started out gets put aside. I'm not saying it happens all the time. Some people are very organised, not me though. May be you should sort out one cubicle a month. Then soon you'll have a lot of empty space for a bit of reorganising perhaps - don't go filling it with 'stuff' though 😂😂
That's exactly what happens in my studio Jay. Once a month is a good idea, I may even be able to manage that, but I can't guarantee keeping the shelves empty 😀
Your fabric stash looks so good to me - you would cringe to see my stash. I love this video as it gives me ideas as what to do when it's cold and I want to stay inside and sew. Thank you for all your effort in creating these videos.
Wow Christine, you certainly worked hard on using up all of the fabric. Everything you made looked great and I hope you get some good sales for your hard work this week.
OMGoodness! That’s a lot of work. But you got so much accomplished. I’m out of breath just watching what you did. I think your room looks amazing & not messy at all. Oh, dear Christine, you’ve inspired me to go work on a few messy cubbies of my own. Rest easy girl and have a lovely day. ❤
This is so impressive. I do try to not bring anything home without a clear use for it, but it is a true battle to say no to bargains and convert acquisition time to "use it up" time. Thank you for this real life demonstration of how to "tidy up."
Chris and I are both second hand dealers so we're always bringing stuff home that we think might be usefull sometime. We do try to take out as much as we bring in though😀
Must be something in the air I have been cleaning out my sewing room as well It is only a small room and have my fabrics in plastic boxes and labels on them my longarm is also in there so the boxes are all packed under the longarm have to do some quilting for a couple of friends so getting organized once they are done I can do some Christine sewing hahaha
I have been watching you for ages and I love it. You give me such inspiration!! I'm going to do this I promise... I have so many offcuts from making horse blankets etc in my main line of work... But the bags make me a lovely side line... You have motivated me and I only use your patterns!! Thank yoi
Great example of how we can get through the stash. However my back would be killing me too. If you do try this again you might want to spread out the labor time 😊
Loved this video, Christine! What a great inspiration and love seeing the "messy" cube go to empty and seeing all your great makes. I think it's a great idea to continue but maybe give yourself more then a week, if needed to get the makes finished. For sure Sandi. I know when I have a tidy up, there's always some things left over that don't quite fit anywhere😀
The junk bin!😂
Beautiful bags Christine !!!! great job!!!
Thank you Janet😀
Awesome job, love your videos, watching from Chicago.

Both your Amazon links are broken 😢
Thanks for letting me know Tara. I've removed the broken ones😀
saw the title, and assumed that you, just like me, are stashing and stashing your swatches into 39 bags of swatches.....
haha, I may very well have that many bags lying aroung too😀
You call this messy?, you haven't been in most quilters rooms!
This one is very tidy compared to the mess I have at the shop and previous sewing rooms I've had😁
wow amazing items you created , 🪡🪡🪡🛍🛍🛍💰💰💰💰🙂🥰
Thanks Joy. Don't know that I want to tidy up for a while though😀
