- One of the longest track and duration tornadoes in history started in Arkansas and ran through 4 states on December 10, 2021 producing EF-4 damage in numerous locations along tthe way. Drone shots of Mayfield which sustained heavy loss from the tornado. All shots are in 4k, some are repetitive with different lightning.
I would like to thank the people of Mayfield for being such a kind and caring group in the face of tragedy and hope these videos have helped you as much as you all have helped me.

I know 2 years have past since this tragedy- but this is ABSOLUTELY an EF5 that was underrated. Concrete buildings reduced to almost nothing, trees reduced to singular twigs, several houses completely slabbed off the foundation with most others being just a pile of debris even on the outskirts of the path. This tornado was something else- and had damage produced by no other EF4 in history. Almost comparable to Joplin in some areas.
Not comparable to Joplin and not an EF5 high end ef4 is appropriate.
I lost everything in Katrina.. we had warning and left.. I couldn't imagine enduring this destruction with so little time to act.. my heart breaks for these people... I'm completely shattered for everyone involved. God bless yall and reach out to us for any help you need.. I can't offer much but I'm willing to do what I can...

This is excellent footage! In example: @3:13 and following .... trained spotters / chasers will recognize these features of 'land scouring'. This was an extremely violent tornado pending the final NWS report. E-4 / E-5 my estimate. The loss of life though ...... too much and no words.

@@sbalogh53 If you pause at min 8.09 and see the three white roofs right in the middle of the video, my house is about three streets towards the top of the video. It's still standing but has some damage. God bless you. Stay safe from the craziness of the world.

You look at this footage wondering how anyone survived, greatful for those that did and heartbroken for those that didn't. Sending healing thoughts for all those affected by this tornado, may god give you strength, courage, and love to fill your hearts in the coming days, weeks and months ahead.

Man to live there as a troubled teenager from the big city … it was a blessing.. praying for those who lost loved ones in this bad fury of Mother Nature. It was tough living on the farms .

At 5:39, the drone over flies a clean slab. That’s your EF5 damage indicator. The final rating should be EF5.
EF scale is a terrible scale to determine the strength of a tornado . This thing was clearly a tornado of EF5 strength but the fact that a home is not properly built it automatically means the tornado was not at EF5 strength.
@@MrPapasvhilly Yeah, it seems like tornadoes only get ranked an EF5 if well-built homes anchored or bolted to their foundations are wiped out.

affected by this tragic event. I lived in Wichita Falls TX April 10,
1979 when a high F4 tornado wiped out half the city of Wichita Falls. I always
thought the tornado was F5 by the size and multiple vortex damage. Remember
going back to school seeing empty desk’s of classmates lost. The tri state
tornado 1925 killed 700 people didn’t have technology to record the size of the
tornado at the time. Looking at the Mayfield Kentucky candle factory was this F5 damage
with multiple vortex causing more damage. Did this tornado really travel 230
miles.
You seem to speak out of experience - have you ever seen roads teared up in F5?
I am seriously starting to suspect man made environmental disasters lately from microwaves - destroying the molecular bond in materials. I live in BC and earlier this year 870 people were killed here in a so called "heat dome" - I was lucky to have a thermometer outside - I suspect man made disaster if the thermometer rise so fast that I can see it with my eyes moving - something was unnatural about that heat dome - I believe a satellite system can cause a microwave heat dome. If applied to clouds it can cause severe destruction - while materials are weakened.

Of course I can't call EF5 because I'm not qualified to judge the integrity of the buildings destroyed, but there are numerous houses swept clean of their foundations.
However I am confident that this will be at least EF4, which can sweep away a lesser house. The trees certainly show evidence of EF4 winds.
Utterly heartbreaking!
My heart goes out to everybody affected. It looks like a war zone. I can’t even imagine the noise and terror people felt. And then to know you were alive, but everything you worked for is gone. But for those who survived you can live another day. They will help to rebuild, but your life is only ONE!! .
You know they dont even talk about the damage in Tn. The town of Samburg got wiped out also Cypress Point Resort totally gone plus others. It went throught there before it hit Ky. God Bless Everyone in the path that it affected 🙏

I’m so glad none of my friends got hurt I mean it’s hard knowing I could of lost the people I love I got lucky since I live in Clinton but Mayfield was a place a grew up around and seeing it destroyed breaks my heart even tho it’s been months I’m still traumatized by the sounds of the tornado they still ramage in my head till this day…

@@toniatchison3678 The climatologists are deceiving you... December tornadoes are nothing new. They're not common, but they do happen. Check the records that date all the way to 100 years back, well before climate change was a thing.

I live in mayfield my property was spared, have been helping with the clean up, until you see it in person, to people you. Know and your hometown you lived in your whole life is unrecognizable it’s hard to process
We are just South of a little Town in Tennessee. Dresden. I saw the destruction there with my own eyes. And every day we're hearing about sporadic damage elobsewhere in the Volunteer state. But we'll always be hurting for our Kentucky neighbors. This event is nothing like anyone has seen before. The power and devastation of a tornado is incredible. I saw a machine shop flattened and an 18 wheeler flatbed on top of it.... upside down. But folks are doing what they can, helping with anything they have. Hopefully knowing folks are lending a hand may help with the shock of this. It's gonna take awhile to get back going but folks lives are forever altered and that will never be fixed.

I live in mayfield Kentucky this was honestly one of the scariest things ever I legit got down in the bathroom cause that’s the only room without windows and I prayed for God to keep us and the ones around us safe it’s crazy how not so long ago everything was all good then we have this tornado and it’s like mayfield just ain’t the same anymore my thoughts and prayers go out to the ones who lost loved ones and to the ones who lost everything that they had due to this terrible storm😢💔🙏🏼💯

No. Look up Joplin and notice the lack of debris and nothing but dirt... EF-5 rips grass and trees out by the root not just break trees in half like this video shows. It will take basements out of the ground. This is EF-4 damage.

Now imagine if all of those houses and buildings were made out of wood. Everything would be gone. This is an example why people in the midwest should have cinderblock houses like those in Florida that can withstand 150mph winds

I answered this question long time ago (dont remember, there was another big tornado in oklahoma), typical murrican answer was "probability meet tornado is almost zero and i had insurance, so i am fine, i dont want pay more", hope dead people in mayfield had insurance.
Even with bricks it would be destroyed.

I think the town should build a community center out of odds and ends debris like wood from Mr. Jones a window from Mrs. Smiths home and have a sanctuary type community center place memory boards pictures etc. I don't really know but my heart goes out to each one of you and I love the love of small towns. Neighbors helping neighbors. Reminds me why I call America home. Lots of prayers and a big hug if you need.

Oh my GOD. That factory though!!! How utterly awful and tragic this is 😢
High end EF 4 no doubt, damage looks similar to Tuscaloosa on April 27th 2011. But this tornado had such a long damage path and ive seen other drone feeds that looked like EF 5. Bremen was harder hit than Mayfield from what ive seen. But regardless this is just devastating and heartbreaking.

I've never lived through anything like this,but could someone please comment on how the streets are cleared so quickly?No debris in the streets at all,and they are all passable.
kind of like in snow, the streets are the first thing that has to be cleared so people can even get in/out of their properties. there was some debris blocking roads in the video.
