A tornado ripped through Marietta, OK ripping a Dollar Tree distribution center in half, throwing cars and semis, hit a hospital and Dollar store. Drone.
This is a massive economic disaster for this area.
screw dollar tree!
@@exploreraa983 Really? That dollar tree warehouse employs a decent amount of the population from marietta.... Doesn't include the other businesses effected
That is a massive economic disaster...whoever they supply in that region will delays re-stocking.
Good thing America just sent $95,000,000,000 to Ukraine and Israel....
@@marilynharrell970Agree, it will impact many locations across Texas, not to mention the employees.
Thank you for showing Marietta cuz it seems like the OKC channels aren’t covering this area of Oklahoma.
I know channel 9 in OKC warned Marietta of this tornado even though Marietta is really out of OKC viewing ares. In still in Oklahoma. But there's was much worse damage in Sulphur. I do feel for the people who probably lose their jobs from this tornado an😮 hopefully nobody lost their life
Oh man, more folks out of work. That's extensive. Prayers for all that are affected. Thanks for what ya do keeping us informed
Then again, it also gives jobs to other people
They can still get unemployment benefits.
The warehouse employees will most likely be reassigned to cleanup detail. I doubt they'll miss any hours.
Funny to send prayers to the same god who could have stopped the destruction, but didn't. Doesn't matter, though. Gods aren't real.
@@EllEss331Sending prayers God Almighty Thanku Lord
Praying for those who we're affected by the tornadoes.
How and where do you even begin to clean all that up? That warehouse was enormous!!
One pallet at a time, rinse repeat until done.
technically by warehouse standards, if it is wet paper product or food product then it will go to a land fill. 3/4 of that stuff will be in a land fill. that doesn't include the freezer and fridge parts of the warehouse which is all headed to the trash. Its a crazy loss. Its big enough that its roughly 12,000 semi loads of product. Now imagine reordering all that product in a market with shortage issues. realize it would take at least 50 giant shipping freighters to refill it. This is going to affect our bottom line everywhere as dollar tree has to compete in the market to regain supplies lost. especially paper products
@@jakestarr4718Dollar Tree has already stated that their insurance should cover most, if not all, of the costs of the building and contents.
these scenes are unreal.semis tossed like toy trucks
Some of those trailers were loaded with heavy stuff like water bottles.
I have seen this type thing before several years ago I had left Dallas area, and apparently a tornado touched down by the flying J (where I had just gotten fuel 5 minutes prior , and it tossed around trucks and trailers in the schnieder terminal
😢 It is hard to look at this kind of damage. My heart goes out to everyone.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Its worse than Ukraine and other countries destroyed by wars. Yet nobody rushes with aid to America.
My 2 kids and ex wife were stuck in a gas station when it hit thrre. Thank godness they survived!
wow!!
My boss - "You're still coming into work tomorrow, right ? "
holy cow - semi trailers look like toys.
Going to take a while to clean that up
They were just tossed around like they were toy trucks. It gives a good idea of the power involved.
The Dollar Tree warehouse is almost destroyed. Might be able to save some of the products, but this is going to affect Dollar Tree across the county. I've seen a lot of tornado damage and lately, they are getting stronger and more devastating. There are more tornadoes on the way. I hope they spare the cities and what has been already hit. What else can anyone say? .
Fug dollar tree, they care about nothing but their mighty penny.

I work for Dollar tree this is bad
weren't they already in a pickle before this?
I work for dollar tree as well and this is gonna hurt all of us.
@@AshleyBrawleywhat is dollar tree? Never been in one.
@@AshleyBrawley most definitely
@@scottw595 , basically the same as Dollar General and Family Dollar. They push their cheap foreign crap and work their employees to death. I'll feel bad for the ones who depend on these places for their livelihood.
My granddaughter in law & grandson work there but they were home, daughter & family live a few miles away prayers for all affected
Sending prayers to all that were impacted by these terrible storms.
The amount of single use plastic waste that’s going into landfill is insane and that’s just from one tornado 😮
dollar tree and aldi share clover valley brand. the bulk of it is soaps, medications, paper products and food. realize its well over 8,000 semi loads of product. which means they have to compete in the market to resupply the outlets. everything essential is going up in price, the tornado created a demand.
What's wild with tornadoes is that there is no in between. It's either completely demolished or untouched. WoW!
That is the warehouse that distributes to Dallas. Praying for all the people in Oklahoma
What's kind of wild to me is just how well the actual racks loaded with goods held up in the tornado after the roof was torn off! It's almost like it was densely packed enough that the top level of the racks became the "ground" as far as the tornadic winds were concerned.
its the weight of the product that held it ha
Oh my. That's a major loss. Very destructive. 😮😢
couldnt have happened to a nicer corporation, pfft.
The unbelievable forces of Nature.
I guess I'm not going to pickup a trailer from there now. I really hope no one was harmed.😔
What an absolutely massive warehouse!!! Filled with....stuff, stuff and more stuff🤯😳🤯
The Dollar General that is in this area of Oklahoma has 5 buildings in its complex roughly the same size as this Dollar Tree warehouse. Five.
@@greglavers That is unbloodybelievable!! I live down under in Aotearoa New Zealand and there are no warehouses as humongous as these 'stuff storers' here. Hard to wrap my head around the amount of different products they contain....mostly made of plastic I guess and other cheap materials too. Still, people's lives and livelihoods have been affected by the mad weather events atm and for that I'm really sorry. I hope you and your whanau (family) are well and out of the 'line of fire'. Take care my friend, arohanui from a friendly Kiwi.
unbelievable

That's a BIG building, lots of stuff, and lots of trailers. Is that a 200 million dollars in damage? Half a billion?
good thing America just sent $95,000,000,000 to Ukraine and Israel...
@@Slimedog1963 Yes, thank you Biden for caring more about other countries than your own.
@@Slimedog1963 news flash, that is money that has already been collected and going to those countries. and dollar tree surely has insurance to cover this damage, so get your bogus political crap out of here.
At least $100 worth of merchandise was damaged
After seeing all the swift trailers, I’m not sure it was completely the tornados fault
Since it's located in OK, I'm assuming this was Dollar Tree's largest distribution center in the nation. The impact will be felt all over the country.
Average size. About a million Sq feet. This is dc8. I'm in dc6 in pa.
Wow that’s really crazy all of that damage that had to be an EF 4 or 5 tornado those semis are piled on top of each other , for everyone who has lost everything I know my prayers aren’t much but I hope you get your lives back together soon
It was a EF3
I hope Homeland grocery store will rebuild. Been stopping there for 4o years on camping trips to Lake Murray.
I work for dollar tree also an our DC warehouse for our region is huge like this one too..over 2.4 million sq feet. They usually have a DC warehouse for each region i think so all the stores in the region will be affected an thats ALOT OF STORES. Could also be a good thing tho because they send the stores a truck once a WEEK an they are huge trucks that fill the whole back room so maybe trucks wont be so big an they will have time to clear out the stockrooms
This effects several stores here in dfw , that’s us our warehouse . This is gonna hurt alot of people 😭..
I believe that warehouse serves all of Oklahoma, where I am, Texas, New Mexico, Kansas and colorado.
@@staceyanderson3723Yes, and other states, too. I deliver to Dollar Tree’s from that DC to all those states you mentioned, as well as Montana, Wyoming, Utah, and Arizona.
Crazy i just drove by that dollar tree on my way to Dallas a week ago, I couldn't believe it when i saw its current state
We drove by it yesterday on our way home to Texas, it was still standing. Very sad to see!
Me also. I drove by a week ago to Dallas.
what an absolute nightmare I feel sorry for everyone impacted by this storm
Tornadoes are the most bad ass of them all! Hands down. Unreal damage.
The power in that tornado is hard to believe
My sister in law drove past this on her way from Kansas to Texas. I 35 is going to be slow going for a while. She sent us a picture of that red vehicle in the median at 4:26.
This was my DC for over 3 years, knew every part of it. No recovering this DC from this destruction.
This is literally 10 miles from my home. I drove through Marietta on my way home from work less than an hour before the tornado hit.
Prayers for the People. This has to be one of the Most Devastating Natural Disasters in History and the Seasons are just Beginning 😮
This kind of thing is pretty typical for Tornado Alley, actually. They've had much worse than this.
Wow look so bad damage everything
Just devastating on all levels. Prayers go out to all those affected. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
WOW! Unbelievable.
That is really bad and I hope no one was injured.
We were told no injuries in this building. I'm in pa, dc6.
@@zeekemotorsportz82 Thank you
Unfortunately, this tornado did kill 2 people, including a baby 😔
So much for the 2nd quarter outlook.
Oh, gosh! It peeled that warehouse open like a tuna can. My heart breaks for all those people who work there.
I hope everyone is safe🙏🏻
Prayers from Houston
Dammmm That must have been an EF 5 🌪️ to destroy such a huge building. Keep God close folks 🙏
I doubt it was an EF5. I was in the gas station across the street, and felt it go over me (I was in a semi truck). It was definitely a crazy feeling once I saw the power shut down and the tornado pass right over me.
@@jmendozas197 NWS confirmed this tornado as an EF4. for an EF5 there has to be complete and total destruction to buildings affected by it, most notably, well built homes that are completely slabbed down to the foundation and cleaned off it.
From what I've read it got an ef-4 rating because of the warehouse
I had just left Swift on the 20th because I just was not making enough money. They had just switched me to this dedicated Dollar Tree line. I decided to cut my losses before I really gave them a chance. I felt I was too deep in the whole. But, for the short time I was there those guys that run that group are really great guys and I pray 🙏🏽 that everyone made it out safely. That’s really all that matters… materials can always be replaced but, not the people.
So sad. Where do you even begin to get back after this?
So many take every day life for granted. Things can change dramatically in the blink of an eye.
Incredible 😢
That's great footage, but what did the Dollar Tree warehouse look like AFTER the tornado?
Filled with stuff that never makes it to the multiple stores I shop in.
Was thinking the same thing... smh
Was there an official TFR in place, did you need authorization to fly ?
This is overwhelming. So devastating and sad. Thoughts and prayers are sincere and sent with the heart, but these folks need help to clean up and rebuild. I wouldn’t know where to start 😢.
Blown away. Literally. 😮
Tragic
Well, that’s about $342.00 in inventory loss. 😂
In a serious note: I hope everyone is ok.
Good thing America just sent $95,000,000,000 to Israel and Ukraine...they dont need it. Expect insurance rates to go...they cant take a loss on this...NOT ONE penny!!!
What was the building shown after the medical clinic? The one with row after row of what looked like little shoebox compartments? Was that part of the Dollar Tree warehouse complex? County library maybe? Does anyone know?
Nursing home, Homeland Grocery and Dollar General store. It’s total destruction as far as the eye can see.
@nativechata9332 what about the other businesses there? The fast food places, the Robersons? I didn't see any of that
@@kathyfaulkenberry222 some damage but zero electricity to operate anything. They are beginning to start some clean up today but they still have no power except generators.
What happened over at Dickson OK?
Someone on Facebook said there's damage by Byford storage.
Horrible, this looks unreal, prayers
Unbelievable damage.
That dollar tree is huge, I take trailers out there with company I work for, that’s some major damage
What happens to the inventory of the warehouse? Is it sent to the landfill? Do brokers bid for recovering what is salvageable and resell it on the Internet?
insurance company will likely hire a liquidation company to go through it and try to sell what they can.
Our DC was flooded in 2011. They made us go thru the freight for salvageable items after the insurance company did their thing.
And no looting. Definitely not in a big town
At 2:20 the entire face of what we call " the New Building" has fallen forward on to the only way out of the employee parking lot. I wonder if there were employees there what route they had to take to get out of the parking lot to go home.
I'm in dc6. We were told there were only 5 ppl inside at Impact. No injuries, allegedly
@@zeekemotorsportz82 Makes sense since there only appears to be about that many cars in the lot. It's Wednesday and I still haven't been contacted by Dollar Tree yet. I've called 3 times. The fourth time there receptionist line stated their message box was full.
How big was the tornadoe, ef4- ef5 maybe, hope everyone is fine.
That's not EF-5 damage to a warehouse. Check out the Wrangler warehouse that was hit by the Hackleburg, AL EF 5 on April 27, 2011. Now THAT'S what an EF 5 does to a warehouse.
So how big was it, i now f5 can demolish building like paper, just think of the deadman tornadoe, now that what you call being stripped, for a truck to be tossed it would have wind speed over 200mph.
The preliminary reports rated it an EF-4
@@TiffanyJ89 Yes, the grocery store damage at 3:29 looks like EF4.
@@mond000 I was about to say because a lot of the buildings are in a EF-4 range type damage.
Ohhhhhh wow
Damn thats unfortunate
were those killed in cars or at the warehouse?
Like why did they have their warehouse of this size in a high risk tornado zone ?????
Where else could they put it? The entire region from Nebraska south to Texas and east about 600 miles is a tornado zone!!
You might as well say not to build warehouses in California because of the earthquakes or build in Florida because of hurricanes, literally nowhere is safe from Mother Nature
Amazing that there's so many Swift trailers that were flipped over by something other than their drivers.
Sorry, the joke was there, I couldn't pass it up. Genuinely sending good vibes to everyone affected by all these storms. Truly devastating. I honestly don't even know where you start with that warehouse. Surely almost all the product is worthless. And how do you even get to so much of it that's stuck under the rafters that have collapsed?
Prayers for those who were there. and all affected by the storms wrath.
So... it seems Swift drivers strike again.. and just like Dollar tree to leave everything out in the aisles. Seriously though.. hope everyone is ok.
Weather Engineering At It's Finest, No More Food And A Tornado Caused By Man!
How awful 😞 ! I pray that no one was injured or killed 🙏.
Sorry but this tornado did kill 2 people sadly
Did everybody make it out of the Dollar tree warehouse at the time?
Likely weren't allowed to leave the warehouse. they have a smallish tech-media room built with cinderblocks and that's their safe room during a tornado. But geez what they had to do once they were allowed to leave. Had to have been scary. And if the tornado was tossing trailers image where they found their cars. I work there but on a different shift so I wasn't there that day.
@@greglavers yikes😱🙏🏻
Oh man this is bad. Im in Ardmore Oklahoma, i have no vehicle but i want to help. If someone wants to pick me up id be happy to help.
tragic
That was one “Swift” path of destruction! Prayers for all involved.
I just hope that Dollar Tree rebuilds. I know a man who works there and it would be devastating for him and hundreds of others if DT just collects the insurance and rebuilds somewhere else or just doesn’t rebuild at all. The Dollar General and Homeland were also destroyed. Hopefully they’ll rebuild as well.
I believe DLTR is a terrible, irresponsible company. There are good people working there, but management there is pretty evil, IMO
It's not possible to rebuild in place with that amount of damage. That gets into land owner politics trying to find a nearby site, most likely failing due to gouging. So no, consider it abandoned and the jobs lost.
Did the WinStar World Casino get all tore up?
No
incredible footage, Prayers for all involved!
People must have pretty good storm shelters, doesn't look like any homes survived.
💔🙏🏾🙏🏾
We didn't receive news about this?!
Look at how thin those walls are :/
Oklahoma got it's a.. kicked!! Anyone from OK sees this my thoughts are with you! Other states that got pounded too my thoughts are with you as well! Chasers got a workout that's for sure. Wish I could go along someday but can't get time off work to do so!

God Blessed them alright!!!
Its time to consider building geodesic Dome buildings and homes to help withstand these terrible storms every year. Our government needs to help Americans and stop giving out most of our tax dollars away to foreigners and their wars!
2:54 that portable garage, irony?
Free stuff? Im sure the looters will be there in droves unless the police and security stop them. RIP warehouse.
Im sure they will take every penny from insurance even though everything isnt destroyed....
