    I'm no stranger to thumb rear brakes due to lack of right leg, I've never had an issue getting an MOT without the foot pedal. So long as the lever applies enough pressure when it's on the roller it should be good.
    I'm contemplating one of these for my GSA as they are handy for tighter turning and erm.....wheelies 🤫May have to speak to Dale.....👍
    Nice vid Chops.

      Are you above or below knee. I'm an above and getting my arse in getting back on a bike. Finally have a bike. Videos like this are helpful. Do you use a bolt through the peg, then into the boot to keep your foot on the peg?

    • @HalfManHalfPirate
      @HalfManHalfPirate 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@frozenbeard81 Hi, I'm above knee, I personally don't use a bolt in the peg as I just lift my foot onto the peg and leave it there. It depends on what type of bike you have and how much angle you can get on a bent knee.
      I tend to ride adventure style bikes so plenty of leg room so never have a problem. In my younger days I had sports bikes and would rub my toes on the road occasionally so I guess a pin in the peg would help there?

  • @tinymotogarage

    I'm kind of obsessed with this now. I club race a 2-stroke SM in Mexico (KTM) and I think this will give me a couple seconds on my 2:07 best. I get zero engine braking with 2-stroke and a slipper so I am hoping I can point the bike better in the tight 180's with this as my rear brake/boot control is poor. Just have to save lots of pesos I guess :-) - looks like proper business gear and a passionate business owner.

    You don't need to reverse bleed, you can use the syringe to suck the fluid through too, I find that the better/easier way on dry lines.

    • @racetorx9702
      @racetorx9702 Год назад

      Sucking fluid into the syringe means you would need a fluid pot hanging above the caliper whereas pushing the fluid from the caliper means no extra fluid pot is needed so a simpler method but yes sucking will work too.

    • @HalfdeadRider
      @HalfdeadRider Год назад

      @@racetorx9702 it's a much better than reverse bleeding. You'll still need the pot either way to then bleed them, to ensure they are free of air, and pressurised properly. It's how I've always done it with fresh lines, or when changing calipers etc.

    Thanks for an informative video, I’ve been interested in a thumb brake but finding a quality one difficult. It might be just my eyes but it would have been an idea to have some sort of light source as I found it hard to differentiate all the dark colored hardware. Please don’t think I’m criticizing as I’m not, just an observation.

    • @racetorx9702
      @racetorx9702 Год назад +1

      I am the owner and designer so of course this thumb brake I have a personal love the kit but from every other thumb brake on the market this is the best unit hands down.
      We have:
      1. the most adjustability
      2. the only company to use titanium hardware & its lock wire capable
      3. its the only thumb brake to have 5 thumb paddle options
      4. push plunger to give in and out adjustability
      5. haribo sweets ;)
      6. top customer service
      Even the teams we sponsor say it's the best kit all have used over big names kits on the market.
      We did a small number of silver kits and they took much longer to sell which is why we decided to only do black. With where the thumb paddle is situated you don't look for it because its right below the grip and in perfect reach of your thumb.

    • @karlwilliams8208

    Boggles the mind a thumb brake would confuse the MOT man, when thumb-throttles are the standard for Quad bikes. They should be encouraging these kind of devices. They're great for riders with disabilities.

    I do accept royalties on my slogans btw lol

    • @racetorx9702
      @racetorx9702 Год назад +1

      You can have a thumb brake on a road bike but we have seen a couple times MOT stations questioned the thumb brake with customers, though unsure they did still pass them, they just were confused at first as the two we are aware of removed the foot pedal completely.

    • @starfox_wr-45e93
      @starfox_wr-45e93 Год назад +1

      @@racetorx9702 Fair enough. I can understand the two lever system being confusing and a bit awkward to inspect/pass but a single lever substitution job shouldn't be a major issue to comprehend.
      But then again, a lot of MOT test stations struggle with daylight mots too. or just anything outside the norm anyway.
