Classic drum intro from Larry Mullen Jr - ruclips.net/video/fdmNC8ylrXI/видео.html Great suggestion from drum student and channel supporter Alan Reeve. Thanks for watching, please let me know your suggestions for these “how to play the groove/fill from…” videos. PS slight inaccuracy to be aware of in the on-screen notation - there shouldn't be a hi-hat written along with the snare drum on "4" and "+". Sorry! Definitely 👍 by the way your drums and the recording sound super. but you have to find away for the mic so you don't have to turn to speake I think is not easy 😉
I really enjoy the grooves that keep appearing on your channel. It goes to show you that there’s often real gold to be found in the simpler beats from days gone.
It's the high hats at the end that get me.. This man is a legend and broke it down very well. Gives me courage to try and learn this ony mates drums then walk into a music shop and play this and walk out Dang
Hi Mike, I am just a beginner but thanks to you I am able to "play" Sunday bloody sunday. I find Bullet the blue sky more difficult for my actual level (or maybe I should try, at least). I definitely appreciate your way of teaching. I really looking forward to play this wunderful intro. Probably the best intro ever. Cheers.
Excellent lesson! Not merely a drum cover, but a cogent and clear demonstration of the various elements of this song. Thanks for posting this. Good onya Mate!
Cool! Cheers man, also have Sunday Bloody Sunday tutorial: ruclips.net/video/qBP2dF0YOko/видео.html and play-through: ruclips.net/video/OJx5bH56ous/видео.html
Great lesson as always, executed in such in such a charming, affable manner. I always think Larry was messing about with Bonzo's beat from 'When The Levee Breaks' when he came up with this beauty.
Could you please add a second camera down by your feet? We can clearly hear the bass drum, but I think that the visual aid would also help us to learn. Thanks!
Nice lesson again, thank you. Any plans on doing some single kick classic metal beats / intros? , classic Maiden maybe (i did check out the Trooper video : ) )
Hi Mike - any chance you could breakdown the classic mini fill just after the beginning ( I think 3rd bar into the song) in Black Knight by Deep Purple - sounds like accented 16th but triplet sounding ? Thanks man
I play a fairly beginner electric drum kit and the hi hat control is SO infuriating. It never feels or sounds right and annoyingly, it's one of my favourite sounds in drumming. It MIGHT be accurate, but there's no visual or tactile feedback so I don't really know what's happening :D Think I'm gonna have to try a real drumkit at some point. But htanks for the great breakdown. Something new for me to learn and sink my teeth into.
Yes I'd say the hi-hat is the hardest thing for electronic kits to replicate. The one on my e-kit (Roland vh10 - ruclips.net/video/KRsDr2roBqE/видео.htmlfeature=shared) is excellent but still not exactly the same as an acoustic hi-hat. Thanks for watching.

@@vertigot1 It's easy, it's just more time consuming to post-produce and would mean I wouldn't be able to put up as many videos!

Wow I couldn't stop smiling the whole time i was watching this. It felt like somebody just solved a great puzzle for me. Thanks so very much.

You too? LOL.
It’s so signature now .. Larry Mullen Jr, so underrated in my humble opinion but so on point with his drumming!
The harmonic on that first snare hit still gives me chills! Great beat!

Might be my favorite drum into ever
Thanks so much for breaking it down. Always found it difficult to play.
Sure thing Seamus, cheers for watching and glad if useful. Cheers!
This is how you should explain stuff.... I love this song so much and now I got it how to play drums on it. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing! Could hear what was happening but could not figure out the technique. I really appreciate you breaking it down slowly!!
Awesome Mike, brilliantly explained as usual. Thanks for doing this after my suggestion. Just gotta learn it myself now
Cool, cheers Alan!
Good teaching. Good speed
Super insightful. Thanks, Mike!!
Cheers Chris! So glad you dug.

Brilliant tutorial
Cheers John!
You’re most welcome. I’m not even a drummer but I could watch your channel all day!
@@JohnSmith-cl2sq Cheers! Feel free, over 700 videos on here now :)
Thank you so much! Explained so clearly. Excellent!
Cheers for watching 👊🏻
Thanks for this. A ghost snare on the 32nd of the 3rd beat! always thought that it was a flam at the 4th.
Just a little too far apart to be a flam to my ears - distinctly on the last 32nd of beat 3, rather than a grace note to beat 4. Cheers for watching!
Finally some body that doesn’t jus play the so as it is but explains how it’s played.
Cheers for watching Favian and glad you found it helpful 👊🏻
Brilliant.
Cheers man, thanks for watching as always :)
Thank you!! ❤
You are a great person! Good Game!

Yeah did The Trooper and also Run To The Hills from Grade 6 - ruclips.net/video/2b7-pFlUdw8/видео.html, but will do some more of that nature!
You've solved a mystery. I thought Larry just had 4 arms! Cheers.
