Velma as a character works best to me as a stereotypical nerd: awkward, slightly nasal voice, intelligent but easily excitable. Make her snarky and the character feels like a disinterested hipster rather than a teen with enough curiosity to want to solve crimes.
Honestly Daphne would make a little sense as a snarky character. Her being an occasional "mean girl" would work.
The snarkier take on Velma worked a lot better in Mystery Incorporated. Not perfect, but that Velma sure as hell came off with more intelligence and likability than the one in this show.
@@TheAdorkableRJ Velma in mystery inc. definitely had her unlikable moments I.e her tendency to be a control freak gf who wanted to “fix” shaggy and then later forcing him to choose between her and Scooby. But she was funny and her snark contributed to some the series’s best written burns. And mystery inc overall had some of the best writing out of any Scooby Doo incarnation
I liked the snarky Velma of SDMI, and unlike THIS version of the character, she learned from her mistakes and realized she was wrong trying to force something with Shaggy. Hey she was a teen and in what was likely her first relationship so naturally, she's going to make mistakes. I can't quite see Daphne as "snarky" (although in Be Cool she was hilarious!), but rather sheltered and empathic and not necessarily a mean girl either.
i may be misremembering, but i swear, if you go back and watch the original series (1970's iirc) Velma's got a few moments of snark that are like a gut punch because she's so rarely opinionated. she stuck to the facts so readily, it just caught you off-guard. the reason i'm certain it was the original show is because i didn't catch Mystery Inc. so idk anything about it. (is it good btw? i've heard mixed reviews but never pursued it)
@@admpandora91 Mystery Inc is definitely worth a watch! There is an overarching mystery and the stakes are high. Plus character growth for everyone.
Velma is the peak example of this type of writing.
Irreverent but lacking substance in anything at all. Loudly political but saying nothing.
Different but bland
Saying anything you know will be controversial but not get you blacklisted in a desperate plea for the attention you don’t have the substance to hold
@@dumbumbumbum8649 Correct.
They're not actually edgy
I’ll take all the worst episodes of Family Guy over this.
This show is literally for nobody. The only people who would like this show are people who wouldn’t have any moral standards and are just really really bad people.
@@lifehurts1183 Assholes, basically.
The fact everyone hates this show reaffirmed my faith in humanity.
Well it got made in the first place and there are a ton of shows just as bad. Might want to hold off on that faith
The one thing I keep hearing is “Who is this show made for?“
I saw the first three episodes much earlier than their release on a paid screening, and I kept leaving the room to floss or to do something else. And each time I’d hear a joke fall flat, I’d say something like “Is this supposed to be ‘edgy’ and ‘anti-woke’? Or is this supposed to be so ‘progressive’ that it comes out the other side of bluntly dumb?”
Now that I think about it, I shot right past the questions to finish the survey and probably am partially to blame for this show’s release by clicking ‘very funny’ without knowing.
It's going to get even worse down the road since they are releasing a baby Scooby-Doo spin-off next year. Called Scooby-Doo And The Mystery Pups.
I've seen people enjoy the show but they're incredibly defensive about it.
I have this one delusional kid I sit next to in class who identifies as "non-binary" and uses "they and them" prounouns. Even though SHE is white, SHE finds it amazing since it's "woke"
Thank you for tearing this show apart Doc, you never disappointed me with your sarcastic delivery for 10 years
Velma, Daphne, Fred and Shaggy were all teenagers who ran in different social circles. Now those social circles may have intertwined but ultimately the four of them would be unlikely friends. So why wouldn’t the writers just play into that? Have Velma be the Juno style outcast who’s also bit of a nerd. Daphne the prom queen type of popular girl who comes to off as superficial, along with Fred who’s a jock. And Shaggy is a slacker who everyone thinks is a stoner even though he swears up and down to be sober, and he constantly refers to edibles as eatables. Four kids from different backgrounds who are secretly best friend’s due to their shared love of mysteries. A breakfast club type of dynamic, but with obvious differences.
jesus christ, what the fuck are you doing?! we can't have you coming up with a decent plot using interesting subversion of typified social dynamics in subtle and creative ways! what do you think Hollywood is, a place for writers and thinkers to create engaging stories featuring unique and memorable characters and events that explore the human psyche and how to cope with difficult yet relatable perspectives and dilemmas? stow that genius, you won't need it here!
... i wrote this as a joke but proofreading it has me lamenting the direction entertainment has catapulted itself. sorry if you didn't laugh.
@@admpandora91 no I laughed pretty hard at this, good shit !
Good shit man, breakfast club is the obvious way to approach this but all these new writers think subversion = good.
@@thankyoujodi cause most modern writers are spoiled and have never been through anything. In the words of Eminem “the only struggle they’ve ever been through was their purse.”
The thing that truly sucks for me is the fact I've wanted a more dark and realistic mystery Scooby Doo show ever since I watched your Scooby Doo movie review and had mentioned the idea. If they would have just taken this concept and left the characters alone for the most part ( obviously you can't have them thinking it's monsters but keep it true to the characters personalities that we all love ) the fact that this show was made only confirms that I probably won't ever see that concept come to life which is a shame considering what they could've done with it. Thanks for making this review Doc, I wasn't planning on watching this trash but hopefully someone out there who may have considered it will watch this review instead and save them the pain. Your doing a great service here really . Hope your doing well my friend.
Mystery incorporated is the closest thing to what you want
Exactly, I'm afraid this might have permanently killed the chance at a proper one too. Mystery Inc is actually pretty close to what I want I'd still like a PG-13 (possibly even R rated) show that lies more into the horror aspect though and puts the gang in actual danger a lot more.
Mystery Inc and Zombie Island were the high points of the series.
Look up Saturday Morning Mistery. It's an indie horror movie take on Scooby Doo.
@@Invidente7 thanks you I'll definitely check that out. Good looking out
@@langdonledwig3734 thanks my friend , I've heard great things so I'll be checking it out. Thanks again
How does Velma have all these science awards but sucks at math?
NO TIME FOR LOGIC
Velma is like Family Guy, South Park, and a women’s studies got drunk, banged and the kid fell out onto its head.
The race changes absolutely matter because that's key point of defense that they use when there is backlash. It's a shield they use from criticism. Also, when you change the race/sex/sexuality of a character, and then make the whole character based upon their said race/sex/ sexuality, then that fundamentally changes the character.
Perfect example: Michael Clarke Duncan as Kingpin. Still had the same core character traits and motivation, his race didn't change anything about the character. So it worked.
EXACTLY THIS.
"Why does it matter if they race swap/erase the characters? It doesn't matter."
Then later,
"Wow, this show sucks."
"RACIST! HATER! THE SHOW IS PERFECT, ONLY RACIST HATERS SAY IT'S BAD! OSTRACIZE THIS RACIST HATER!!!"
Making critics enemies of society is gross and irresponsible. Forget how it ensures bad product (Season 2 already happening), it aims to vilify people for not liking a bad product. That's a pretty toxic seed to plant.
@@Robert-lc6dv Yeah, plus the thing is, Wu, Howerton, and Richardson I know for a fact have been good in other shows and movies but I get the feeling that they are trying so hard to make that awful dialogue sound good but even the greatest actor would struggle to make that dialogue sound good.
The race swapping DOES MATTER! Otherwise, I demand a reboot of Static Shock with Virgil now played by a white blonde Swedish kid. Yeah, thought so! Bad enough Fred's character was thoroughly savaged here (his himbo characterization bugged but I could live with it), but characters should remain true to their base designs. Just like one shouldn't rewrite classic novels (hear about what's happening with Roald Dahl books lately????) because "sensitive".
Yep. Woke stuff always makes everything toxic, ridiculous or just annoying.
@@Robert-lc6dvCalling people racist isn’t why Velma’s getting a second season. It’s because hate-watching a show gives just as much success as fans watching. The internet was obsessed with this show for a few weeks and that means we’re giving them the attention, negative or otherwise, that a show needs to live.
I'm so sorry you did this, Doc. Here's a Purple Heart for your valiant effort.
MJ Tanner also reviewed it part by part. At the first video she sighted and reminded herself it was for the channel.
@@Invidente7 not a single being said it was good or admirable, it's a miracle it united everyone across the spectrum
"Most watched animated show on HBO Max" is surprisingly an easy feat to achieve when you previously cancelled all other animated shows except for Velma.
And most are hate watching.
And then removed said animated shows from the platform to write them off on your taxes
This is the only video of Velma worth watching cause garbage this bad needs to just be forgotten
Who wants to bet incels hate watching it will get it a third season.
@@somethingclever4297 There is a small ray of hope. HBO genuinely prides itself on its mostly quality product. If they become convinced that it is really a shit show, they may not renew it no matter what. It's possible. 🤷♂️
Amen Brutez!
Most of the Velma reviews have been pretty hilarious tbh. The cats been out the bag since episode 1 lol. Still here I am. Cancel Mindy.
@@TroubleToby3040 I wouldn't be so hopeful. Now they are ruining Scooby-Doo once again with a Baby spin-off called Scooby-Doo And The Mystery Pups. Basically a Paw Patrol clone.
This show is so bad that it makes Scoob look like a masterpiece
This is by far the biggest insult to the Scooby-Doo franchise ever! I've never seen such a disrespectful adaptation of a franchise. Doesn't help the Velma is being played by a sexual predator who has been surrounded by Yes Man for her entire career. Mindy needs to be held accountable for her actions
Frankly I don't even recognize it as part of the Scooby-Doo franchise. There is no Scooby-Doo!
sexual predator? can you explain?
Just like the spiritual sequel to Zombie Island.

I think we all owe the live action scooby doo movies A public apology because those movies are cinema compare to Velma
This show makes me feel bad for being so hard on “Be cool Scooby-Doo”
Don't, slippery slopes go downhill by nature so speaking up _before_ things get as bad as possible isn't always fan paranoia.
How funny is it that they didn't put Scooby-Doo in the show because they thought he was too childish the made one of the most immature show ever?🤣
This exact reason is why I was worried they would make a Pre-School Scooby-Doo spin-off show. My worst nightmares are coming true.
truth, glad Scoob stayed out of this slander
Mainstream media are so out of touch. Franchise after franchise ruined by people who don't understand, like or care about the franchise, characters or customers. Such a bizarre strategy to employ these people yet they keep doing it no matter how much it fails.
I REALLY hope that the animators get better work than this. When I saw a post on Instagram of one of the artists bragging about a billboard he designed for them, the first thing I thought was *This poor guy.*
Mindy kaling grew up in a rich family, lived a life we wanted to live, had almost everything that she ever wanted, so, why would she create this dungheap!?
She didn't. She was just a producer.
"You know i never had much as a kid. Just loving parents, stablity, a mansion and a great future career as a producer and voice actor. All useles crap. But with this show, i will have the one thing that will make me happy. Ruining a beloved children franchise, so no one will be ever able to enjoy it the same way ever again. It's it too much?"

She’s a deeply self hating rich Indian woman and reminds me of a worse version of Raj from Big Bang Theory . I’m surprised she didn’t have Velma go solely after Fred due to her love for mainly white men . She’s also like every other person in Hollywood these days .
The animation in the hallucination scenes are amazing, so we’ll detailed and creative… and the fact they were wasted in this show is the saddest thing of all
Velma was also Jewish in Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated. She'd make remarks in Yiddish.
WB better not ever do ANYTHING like this with Scooby Doo EVER again
It’s like the Holocaust but with cartoons
Velma went to the "The Last Jedi" school of "Do the opposite so much that nothing is recognizable...that makes us good, right?"
No because The Last Jedi is an actual good film.

Anyways, great video, Doc.

Let’s be honest we all knew this would be garbage from the trailer
It's kinda hilarious how every review I've seen is like "I heard it was bad but I wanted to give it a fair chance and see for myself... AND IT WAS TRASH".
I think we better apologize to Scrappy-Doo for the worst things ever in Scooby-Doo history
ok Why?
@@fredricotraversiere6582because the joke is that scrappy was the worst thing in this franchise until this show was released
why Scrappy doo is the worst thing in the a franchise he Scooby-Doo nephew
Honestly the show could have saved itself if maybe they would have her realize just how awful she is and feel awful, The Simpsons normally did that in some of their well liked classic episodes.
The race swapping still matters cuz it was done as a way to make racist jokes of the characters and Velma specifically the most.
Also, I legit don’t get how velma will ever become better. She only ever wins at this point. She self reflects for a second then just stops. She isn’t going through anything that makes these types of characters become better down the line because she’s basically perfect yet also not because they want to make unpopular jokes when she’s got the entire gang wanting her.
Also, if Velma gets a season 2 then Gigi will have her brain put into a dogs head.
Also also, they say Velma is the most watched show but never actually gave the numbers unlike what they usually do so I think they where just trying to lie to hype it up
I think when they say 'most watched', it's people watching it like a train wreck. It's horrible but they want to know just how bad it's going to get.
“Most watched show by the animators of said show”
Also why the raceswapping is a problem because its a blatant self insert of Mindy Kaling who tends to do that in every show she's in regardless of the character.
Velma isn't an unlikeable self-hating bitchy Indian, that's Mindy Kaling!
She's literally just the definition of an Anti-Sue.
Wait, HOW would Gigi get brain-swapped when Victoria is dead? Who the HELL would be capable of the failed military project?
Remind me of various times CW refused to release the actual viewing numbers for Batwoman at the end of each season
Here I thought I loved Dr. Wolfula, then he goes on a meltdown over Flim-Flam. Now I love him more.
Mindy Kaling's attempt at Velma Is worse than Flim Flam and Scrappy Doo combined.
It’s not fair. We got a Christmas movie (SCOOB! Holiday Haunt) and a HEX GIRLS MOVIE (Scooby-Doo and the Haunted High Rise) scrapped for tax write-offs, but Velma gets a Season Two?! 😭😭😭
That last one really hurts my soul. The Hex Girls are some of my favorite cartoon musical acts. Zombie Island reiterated on the classic idea of popular music being in Scooby-Doo Doo movies just like the old show, but with '90's pop rock. Witch's Ghost upped the ante by making the pop rock music an actual part of the movie's plot. A Hex Girls movie would have been the natural conclusion to this idea, but no. We got saddled with *THIS...*
FWIW, the show was probably greenlit already for 20 episodes and they're breaking them up into two 10 episode seasons. Hopefully one day, someone will find everything connected to this abomination and destroy it with fire.
I love how you show a picture of Ghislane Maxwell standing beside a poster of Mindy Kaling, instead of some press photo of Mindy. Savage as fuck.
This honestly makes that other Velma Spin-off the forgettable live action movie with Daphne look watchable then this! And that one had *NO* Scooby *OR* even Shaggy and Fred. Let that sink In!
Don't you mean "sink" in?
1:29 yeah but the change was completely unnecessary and only done because Mindy Kaling, the lady who made the show, is a narcassist who makes every leader character of her shows look like her, effectively making them a self insert.
I have never given a rat's ass about fictional characters being race/gender-swapped (whether in animation or live-action), but it pisses me off when it's clearly done out of spite towards the fan-base and a desperate attempt to drum up controversy and hate-views.
If your entire identify revolves around your race, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation, you are a sad caricature, and that's something no one wants to watch. At best you get overly PC viewers who are too scared to object and cheer you on for SJW brownie points.
@@TheAmateurEditor Yup and thats the only reason they changed the races in this show, for social brownie points and nothing else.
@@thefanwithoutaface8105 Except they didn't even do it for that. Mindy just wants every character she plays to be a self insert.
Go watch early The Office. Kelly was very different and was changed to be a Mindy clone because Mindy was a writer
@@thefanwithoutaface8105 This Show likes sucks
Doc says she was a producer on the show. So she only funded it.
That being said, I imagine as a producer you’d be able to say “whoa, guys, I want to make the money back.”
I will say I was disappointed Doc didn't at least mention that Frank Welker, the original Fred that has played him since '69 voice acts as Fred's dad William in the show. Frank is the last OG Scooby Doo VA. For what it's worth I believe it's noteworthy
Suddenly Scoob isn't so bad.
This show feels like someone on Scooby-Doo's production team saw HBO's Harley Quinn show and was like "That looks easy! Let's do that!"
And they failed miserably.
Boy oh boy. As a fan of this franchise since I was old enough to watch TV (no joke), this is head-bang-on-the-wall frustrating on SO many levels. I would not be surprised if one or more of the people involved in this show end up in eventual legal trouble, because there's SO much questionable stuff put in here that makes zero sense even in terms of what they were trying to go for. This SMELLS like something trying WAY too hard to be "Harley Quinn" without realizing why it works. Thanks for soldiering through this one!
I don't think anyone actually cared about the race-swapping thing. Literally, that was the first thing established about the show when it was announced, and pretty much nobody cared. We all just collectively rolled our eyes and went elsewhere, because in this day and age, race-swapping is about as common as taking a dump, and we're all starting to catch on that its pretty much just a shallow gimmick, and that generating controversy around such things was the only way studios and companies get anyone to care about this.
A race-swapped Scooby series with all the typical NPC jargon? Hard pass, we've already gotten our fill of that from the rest of the 2010s.
Nobody really cared until the show started to reveal just how determined it was to enrage literally every human being in existence [and probably at least one species of animal] and by that point, everyone was in an uproar about how repulsive the show is, more than the fact that the lead won't stop going on racist rants
FYI: Shaggy got his nickname for his shaggy hair, but now that he’s black, he doesn’t have shaggy hair … his hair would be described “differently”… that’s the real reason he’s not Shaggy 🤫

Hey Doc, i just gotta know it: Have you - as the arguably hugest Scooby Doo-Fan around the globe, who just seems to consume EVERY Scooby-themed content ever created - seen the crossover-episode of Supernatural and Scooby Doo (titled "ScoobyNatural"), which basically shows the whole Phantom Shadow Episode BUT with the two leads of Supernatural inserted into it and even solving the mistery of the whole episode together with the Scooby-Crew? It really should be a huge fun with a lot of scooby references to recognize for you, so if you have seen it, please give it a try and do a whole review on this episode, it would fit just perfectly into your collection of Scooby-Doo-Reviews (although this one episode alone is so much better than this whole shitty spinoff-show of Velma, promised) 🙏

I feel deeply bad for you watching this show. Hopefully, this doesn't get a second season.
It already has. But it seems that's because it had already been made before the 1st season aired. talk about confidence...
@@alexandresobreiramartins9461 To be fair, most animated series these days get two seasons at the when greenlighted. .
A great comprehensive review of this show! One of the best I’ve seen
Also, I want to bring up the stuff around why this show is “the most watched Max Original animated show” and why the show got picked up for a second season relatively quickly. For the first point, notice the specific wording of that claim. Velma is a Max Original show meaning it was made for the service. Other animated shows like Rick and Morty or Smiling Friends weren’t made for the platform, so you can’t use those for the distinction. As for the actual Max Original animated shows (that aren’t kids shows which have a different metric measured because of their intended audience), all of them ended by the time Velma premiered, except one, some show called Ten Year Old Tom, that no one’s heard of. Certainly not something heavily marketed anyway. So, yeah Velma, a adult animated show that is based on one of the most popular properties out there, is going to be the most watched, but looking at what it’s up against, is basically a default distinction.
As for the second season announcement, animation takes a long time to make, even for a show like this. Lots of shows, animated or otherwise are pretty much guaranteed a second season because of how much production they need, which is why you’ll often see news story after news story saying a certain show got renewed for a second season before the first has fully aired. The announcement makes for a really convenient headline and free marketing purposes by keeping the momentum of the show’s popularity going because otherwise people wouldn’t care about a show that basically has no confirmation of it continuing. This is again a show based on one of the most popular franchises around and is produced/stars a very prolific and in-demand actress as well starring other very-in demand actors like Glenn Howerton. You need to secure them for future seasons immediately and hence an immediate green light for a second season. Now, if the show gets a third season after that, then that’ll reveal the show has legs and I’m also not going to discredit the amount of talk the show has garnered since it’s release, as bad the word of mouth has been. But, I don’t know, I don’t usually take seriously the “hate watching” meta people have towards this saying that’s what got the show a second season. People hate-watching something can only do so much. Just ask Sony when they rereleased Morbius because of the popularity of the meme and they ended up losing money because of it.
We’ll see if this show lives on but seeing as how creatively bankrupt this is already, I highly doubt it can sustain itself on bad press alone.
All great points.
I would add the idea that this show is banking on outrage, and bolstered by hate-watchers.
It managed to unite people from both sides of the political spectrum by being offensive to everyone.
Fandom Hate has been monetized now…I don’t think this will be the last show to embrace that.
My g-d this show is just awful. It’s like WB went out of their way to hire only people who actively hate Scooby doo for it
Did anyone get a Mary Sue vibe throughout the whole show? It felt like it was nothing but me, me and also me with Velma. It felt like Velma was never in any danger to begin with so all of the episodes of her "in danger" have no weight to it. However, I did laugh my ass off when she gets hit with the cop car, that's a joke worth watching after all that negativity in the second episode.
That’s what happens when your main character is a self insert of an executive producer.
Velma was the most viewed Animated show on HBO Max because before the announcement and before Velma aired they removed all other animations from HBO Max. An animated Show with no competition will obviously get just an achievement.
Rigging the system to look good is the name of the game for these terrible business decisions
Mindy is the sole definition of the word "Privilege" itself. She grew up in a upper class, went to an ivy league college & never had to struggle in her life to get where she's today now. She made Velma herself insert but this version of Fred is actually HER.
I'm impressed with this review. You guys get STRAIGHT to the point on why Velma is such a shitshow without any filler or personal commentary inbetween, all with this spooky horror-esque aesthetic done ten times better than the actual Velma show. (I mean it is supposed to be a spooky horror show right?)
Isn't Daphne's character arc to find her real parents basically lifted from Fred's arc from mystery incorporated?
Instead of funding Velma, they should have funded a Doctor Wolfula show.

What the heck were they THINKING?!
Now, I haven't seen this series because I have no cable and no interest in getting any service that allows me to GET network programs, but seriously the very idea of this show didn't sound promising from the start. From what I heard, let's touch the elephant in the room: if you're going to focus a TV series on Velma, let her keep her character!! Don't change it without thought!!
And that goes for the rest of the Scooby gang.
Oh, and no one familiar with Scooby-Doo would recognize "Norville" as Shaggy. Doesn't look like him, doesn't act like him. And don't try to pull that this is before he discovered weed. He doesn't look right AT ALL! -- and I will die on that hill.
Mindy is the show runner and executive producer. It's her show.
The main character is clearly a self insert.
Mindy and Charlie created a few things together. They write things together but mindy is the boss. I like the doc but he knows this is Mindy's show.
In all honesty I only laughed twice in this whole season of that show and laugh is a strong word. The first time was when Fred pretended to be a good boy before going to court and pleading his innocence and the second time was when I forgot his name already I'm going to just call him "fake shaggy" found out that his dad was only a psychiatrist because of his cardigan vest
Norberto.
I feel like there's something inherently telling about the show's writing, and it seems to say that Mindy Kaling has a lot of unpleasant feelings about people that probably should have gone to her therapist instead of a half-assed "deconstructive parody" of Scooby-Doo.

The ONE good scene in ALL of Velma is the episode where she got hit by the police car.
Finally, someone else brings up how they were ripping off Daria. The gen X & Y writers didn’t get the show that show at all and have no idea how to make a scooby show.
Robot chicken, Harvey Birdman, and supernatural showed funny adult scooby media, so it can be done.
"Warner Bros. has always been very protective of its IP's."
Then why did the Banana Splits become robotic serial killing assholes?
And everyone thought Scooby Doo Get a Clue was the Worst. This is easily one of the worst shows of all time, Scooby Doo or otherwise.
Give it one more season and they'll cancel the show. I promise you that.
Now that was a good line”Hey,am I on a hunger strike, where the hell are my pancakes?”
Oh, uh, hey, goulash!
Shaggy and scooby doo get a clue you no longer the worst show.
I don't believe this what Scooby Doo fans meant when they wanted an R or PG13 Scooby Doo property..

Fred is the only character that has some occasionally funny lines
Friends who solve mysteries together with benefits.😂
This video Is better than all the episodes of Velma...and way funnier
Doc Wolfula forgot to mention that Velma kicked his dad, step mom AND step baby outta the house so she can live there with her mom.
if this is Velma's Story told in her way, then i rather see Shaggy's story told in his way, at least him talking about food could be charming
also, is this show trying to get us arrested? cuz i (and others) don't want accused of being a P3do
When the hell did the rotten tomatoes score get to 41? Thankfully the audience score is still 7 which is too good.
For as long as I live I will never watch this show even if I get forced to at gunpoint
Oh I am fuckin here for this! Doctor Wolfula is a fellow horror hound who may like Scooby-Doo even more than I do.
I'm so disappointed that garbage like this has the possibility to be renewed for a new season but they cancel shows like Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated
Mystery Incorporated had a good ending. Velma was non-canon from the beginning
@@NCTStudio what's Velma and I kinda wished mystery incorporated did continue due to the cliff hanger ending leaving more to explore for a once possible season 3 but you are also correct that the way it left off was a good enough ending to the main story
Please make it stop! 😖

Honestly, think the plan was to make a cartoon so bad that everyone would have to watch to see how bad of a show they made.
this show just blows 1000% all around
Oh god this is so much worse than I imagined!
It’s just so sad really. How could you make a concept so wholesome and uncontroversial like scooby doo, and turn it so cynical where everyone is just an asshole to each other.
I'm half-black myself and I always found it a little insulting when characters get race-swapped for no reason. To me, it screams that Hollywood is too damn lazy to try to create original colored characters anymore and rather piggyback off the notoriety of well-established characters, reguardless if it's inaccurate, poorly written, and/or makes no sense. That's one of the reasons why I can't stand Netflix's Witcher.
youre a trooper for this Doc, i couldnt make it past episode 4
Its not racist to want a character to look how they were originally conceived and portrayed for the majority of their run.
Exactly. Remember how unhappy everyone was when the live-action Avatar movie white-washed the cast? But you do the reverse, like with Velma, and there's no pushback and people are quick to label you a racist if you point out the double standard, it's so exasperating.
Finally someone talks about flim flam!
Everyone talks about how bad scrappy doo is, but when they played him down he wasn't that annoying (scooby doo and the ghoul school being a perfect example) and could become a really loved character with enough tweaking. But flim flam was just annoying.
I wouldn't be surprised if he was so annoying people forgot about him just to save their sanity; so just replaced him with scrappy because he was more bareable :p
Mystery Inc > Velma
They put teenage girl nudity in a scooby doo show OH GOD NO WHYYYYY?
The final score gave me a good laugh, which is WAY more than I can say about any of the jokes and gags in these Velma clips.
This garage has and still deserves all the Criticism that has come its way!
