I love how it feels like this is a loop he’s trapping himself in, as well. The real terror is how it doesn’t feel malicious. It feels like Scooby is trying to scrape back the pieces after his first mistake, but it gets worse and worse every time. But he’s too far now to give up, and so he continues, and so things distort further. Such good cosmic horror: where the entity is not malicious, but simply indifferent to human suffering.

The answer is of course that the truth of their world is that it isn't real and that their lives are controlled by writers.
Hence why he can talk and why no one normally notices because the writers have written you not to notice.
Knowing that your history is a lie and that your existence and troubles are solely for the entertainment of higher beings would truly be horrifying.
For her to realize the truth would be a threat to their world's very existence since she'd derail the story from the writer's vision and thus likely decrease the series's entertainment value and thus get it cancelled.
Scooby as an unnatural existence spawned through the writer's will is thus tasked with correcting their reality when something goes wrong.

Scooby didn't really have to explain everything to Velma. The fact that he wanted to speak to her despite knowing she'll forget again kinda shows that he's really sorry, disappointed, and heartbroken.
It might be an attempt to incept the idea that remembering is bad. If she keeps on remembering then perhaps on some level the conversation with scooby, or the general idea of it, will persist too and the next time she's "remembering" she might feel disinclined to pursue the line of thought. Scooby seems to be getting desperate for the outcome He wants and, short of changing her on a fundamental level when He creates her next, doing this thing differently might remedy the situation for Him.
Good comments from both of you guys. Also possible that he is using it as a means to vent his frustration, particularly to the cause of it.
@@KairoWolfThat’s how I take it; a more selfish thing. This whole scenario really drives home that all of it is inherently a selfish act for Scooby. He’s just venting.
Or maybe in this case...he's just _disgusted._
Think about it; Velma didn't really start _remembering_ this time...The memories were triggered when Scooby entered the scenario. He created a world to see what the odd variable was; this time, removing himself from the equation - a world in which Velma was completely free to do as she pleased without having the existential crisis of a Talking Dog...
And what he saw her do in this world...was _abhorrent._ Scooby _chose_ to shut this world down; he reinserted himself into the equation, knowing it would trigger Velma to remember. He did this, _just so he could destroy this world._
_To destroy her..._
Scooby now knows for sure that he isn't the problem. There must always be a Scooby Doo...But we've known past experiences...the franchise _can exist without Velma._
Unfortunately, he cares too deeply for her - for all of them - to separate them again. So he's gonna keep on trying until he gets it right...
But this time...was definitely a failure.

I mean, I don't know if you would consider the last iteration of Mystery Inc "fun". By that, I mean the last one shown in the slides where they were showing older version. The Mystery Inc series on crystal lake was basically Courage the cowardly dog for kids. Traumatizing but with some degree of happy ending
This reminded me of the horrific "I'm Sorry Jon" version of Garfield.
Fr I saw an edit of this on tik tok and have felt uneasy ever since. Pure talent
@haroldcleveland691 "we'd go solving mysteries together..it was simple...fun.." I'm pretty sure he means fun as in thrilling..to him tho cuz he's the one that created the world so 🤷
This 4 minute animation had more entertainment, horror, mystery, and fluidity than the entirety of Velma. WOULD definitely watch a series like this ngl
Imagine if HBO did this. Like, the first two episodes are the slop that they are, and the only people that are left are the hate-watchers, but then something happens in Episode 3, and BOOM.

I really like the concept that Scooby is this ominous dimensional horror that will go on a killing spree if anyone dares question the logistics of his existence. Scooby will recreate everyone and everything just so he can keep the facade going.
And thats what I like most about this. Scooby isnt necessarily malicious or evil. He doesnt want to torment anyone or cause suffering. He just wants to live out his fantasy of being a talking dog that hangs out with his mystery solving friends.
And his latest creation is indeed flawed. Hopefully he will do better next time.
I would literally watch a whole movie on this concept... it is horrifically amazing
Sameeeeeee
Or Higurashi, it's also the same premise with Rika
There’s one story called Black Dogs by Scary Story Time with Liam. It’s not exactly like this but there are some parallels. It is an audio creepypasta, though, so no creepy visuals like with this.
A shiver went up mine spine in the end
Reminds me of that Justice League episode titled "Legends" where this one very powerful being recreated the world before nuclear armageddon solely die to wanting to return to the "good ol' days"...
The fact this animation made by an independant animator with limited funds has more mature contents and actual horror than the actual "adult show" is pretty telling on how today's cinema is getting out of touch about what makes a show good, this was a treat to watch
True👍
"a treat to watch" One could say it was a Scooby Snack to the eyes
Yup the concept of scooby being a literal godly entity

Okay this is actually a really cool theory for the Scooby Doo universe
After hearing what Scooby said to Velma, I love how at first he tried to act like a normal dog without being able to speak in order to remain inconspicuous and see if that way he could get his gang back, but he got desperate when he saw that velma suspected him anyway and then killing the gang on the spot, showing his deep frustration, like a kid destroying his legos trying to make the perfect model
Its really sad
Ummm....well this is actually very sad I mean......so
honestly his "I love you" sound so sad...poor little demon just want to hang with his gang again
Yeah. But didn’t we have any suspicions when we first watched scooby doo. How can he talk in the first place??? How can Velma only remember what happens and not the rest of the gang??? And how can he think he can act normal if he keeps the same collar and locks the same without the dots and look more realistic??? It’s almost the same as the blue theory. Our favorite childhood show. How can these dogs use powers? Are they gods from another world??? What are they? And how can they talk and grow fingers if they were normal dogs??? Answer the questions down below.⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
Why did he kill them the first time tho? He could just continue with them anyway, or tell them to stop worrying about it
This 3 minute and 44 second video had 10x more story telling, character growth, comedic timing, and overall lore than the entire freaking series had
100x *
Yes.......yes it did
for real though
Facts
But people who review the show properly admit it's terrible but say it's got a few good jokes
Saying that, this is awesome
The fact that Scoobys mouth changed when dragging velma is kinda terrifying.... imagine how he looks in his actual form
The fact that Velma had a second season either inplies that this is at the exact end of the series or that he gave this world a second chance and it was even worse (btw i havent seen season 2 of Velma but im guessing its bad)
He coulda just made a simple animation of scooby biting Velma’s head off for being a b*tch but instead he created a whole metaphorical horror film. That was wild.
I think existential is the word you were looking for
No he couldn't have animations about characters shitting on their new shit version of themselves are soulless when compared to one made to create something new
@@ethanwinters1469 well what I meant was if he just had an animation of scooby simply eating Velma’s head off we would all still party and love the video, we all hate her. But yeah this is much better
I love that Scooby sounds like a glitching radio, occasionally skipping through different stations. This would be an amazing reboot
A glitching radio playing different Patrick Stewart monologues on different channels.
It would have been even better if he had different voices, an older more muffled voice for the older versions and then a more modern voice for the more 2000’s versions of the show.

If this was an actual velma episode it would be GREAT!
I love the fact he predicted Scooby Doo being evil and eating people
This was actually one of the best explanation as to why Scooby Doo kept changing. This was a beautiful masterpiece.
Did you watch mystery incorporated?
SPOILERS
They actually addressed scooby being able to talk (he’s an alien descendant) as well as transitioning into the original version of the show since it was a prequel.
This animation follows it really well because the gang could remember their old timeline while everyone else either forgot or had previously died.
she remembered
But, all of this because she ask a question 😰
The major hole with it however is the consistent Scooby-Doo straight-to-video films that drop every few years between new versions of the series though. They typically have the gang in their traditional looks and continue to center the brand of Scooby-Doo even when each new show tries a new style/look with a creative different direction.
@@dragonsurge1 wait, this is somewhat Canon? I never watched that one, can you tell me which episode?
All 3 minutes & 44 seconds had me more intrigued than Velma’s entire season. Masterful work
Lol
Ironic
Heya Jax!
I mean it's not hard but still an epic animation
The fact that you even watched Velma is shameful in itself
I don't know why, but this made me see Scooby-Doo a lot different than I used to. Like holy crap this is brutal, and God damn it, Velma just have fun.
"Never the matter.. Ill get it right... Next Time" That line hit so hard it knocked me into the scooby verse.
The fact one guy makes a better and more interesting story then an entire team of animators writers that spent probably months or more making a series with multiple episodes with a large amount of funding, says a lot
The fact he knows about all the iterations and history, is more than that whole team of writers know about the franchise. That's probably the biggest factor, he actually likes animation/Scooby Doo.
It’s because of care and love. Ones work with much thought of the story is better than quantity.
leave the animators out of this, blame it all on the writers and mindy. Those animators had no reason going hard on some of those scenes.
thats probably because animators dont write stories, just guessing tho (compare things right)
Sometimes you can't show your true artistic vision on air. What really happens between series.
The running in place and not being able to move anywhere just brought chills to me. That was too much dread and just triggered nightmare fuel. It honestly explains so much it's terrifying! Well done.
there's also the cherry on top that that qas a recurring visual gag in early Scooby doo, that a character would be running but for some contrived reason they would just stay in place
its not just nightmare dream logic. its bringing back a joke from the original series but reframing it in a new more terrifying light
Considering what just happened, you kinda called it with the end there!
Notice how Scooby didn’t even talk this time. He knew it was getting worse and Velma was remembering more quickly and so therefore he decided to give up the ability to speak to preserve their friendship. He loved his friends and their adventures together so much he was willing to give up the very thing that made him special in hopes it wouldn’t trigger Velma’s memory. But despite even giving that up… Velma still remembered.
Now that I think about it, do you think this scooby created scrappy just to try to divert suspicion from his friends?

This is genuinely horrifying, and I absolutely love it. Cosmic Scooby acts as an indomitable existential threat that’s just trying to get the right formula. And his uncanny, distorted form at the confrontation is just so unnerving. And Velma running in place, unable to escape Scooby’s influence, was the cherry on top.
What makes Cosmic Scooby worse is how he genuinely loves the gang, he enjoys being with them, for a being with this level of power to love insects like humans is cool and all yet it doesn’t care about the gang’s, specially Velma’s feelings, lives, thoughts or anything else, treats em like toys he can tear apart and rebuild
agreed, epecially the old 60s music towards the end.
The idea of some shape shifting entity being able to reshape the world and people around it as it sees fit, embedding itself within a happy group of teenage misfits travelling the country solving mysteries. Murdering them and remaking them for sixty years because Velma manages to see through its control. It's an amazingly horrifying concept.
These kids went missing 60 years ago. Yet there would be traces of them here and there where they've interacted with the outside world. Like ghosts through time.
This could be the teaser. Then switch to live action, following a middle-aged detective as he desperately tries one last time to crack the cold case that's haunted him his entire career.
the irony is that this, could ACTUALLY work out, because maybe, this could tie into Learning with Pibby and this Cosmic Scooby could be an entity from the glitch doing it's own thing
@@Odilwerk yeah
You guys technically predicted the ending of season 2
Scooby kills velma
Scrappy kills velma
... This video fills me with a mixture of pure, primal terror, the unrelenting sadness of the loss of a loved one, and uncontrollable rage. I find my fingers beginning to slip from the cliff of insanity. I will not sleep for days, not because of choice, but also not entirely due to the paralyzing fear this has left me in. I believe I will never be the same.
Edit: i wish i could sleep. if only to wipe the terror i feel from my mind, but i know that even if i do, it will still be here. watching over me as i die
This version of Scooby is creepy as hell, but also weirdly sympathetic
He’ll do anything to keep his ̶s̶l̶a̶v̶e̶s̶ friends
It's funny cuz maybe Scooby "escalated" the situation cuz Velma and the group asked some questions, he is doing this over and over hoping for a new result, he is literally doing the insane description, doing the same time over and over.
I think at some point if he just come clean about being... Idk, God?) Or a least give a info base (not needing the killing part) he will get what he want, his friends
His motivations are relatable, even if we disapprove of his methods. He reminds me of Thanos. He is the most credible, fleshed out multiversal villain we have seen in a long time, far better than Kang in many ways. If Velma Season II sets up a good multiverse saga for the Hanna Barbera Universe (HBU), it might be worth watching.
That was the show, back when. It was rinse and repeat, over and over and over. But it was still fun to watch.
@@haroldb1856 that's not the definition of insanity, that's from a 1983 book called Sudden Death, that phrase got more popular after Vaas said it on Far Cry 3, the actual definition is "the state of being seriously mentally ill; madness.".
I love how they made Scooby and made him like this paranormal creature that doesn’t want it’s secret exposed
in the new velma show, through, monster Scooby didn't take part of the crew. unlike the other versions, would there be a reason for such a thing?
@dylanzlol7293 he only took velma on the current version because it was only her memory he was reliving in, not the others, he didnt take the other's essence, which might explain why they degraded along with her, not only did she slowly forget about them, she forgot about who she was, and when she saw the real scooby, she snapped, remembering too quickly, and too early as scooby said, again hinting her memory is fading faster and faster, but scooby said it might be fixed this time, either her memory can be restored, or he is just having false hope.
More of a thing Garfield fans do
Then again not well versed in the Scoob fandom so maybe they do this too
Something something Rick&Morty cat
Yeah.... I'm gonna have 2 disagree. That even creepier. But if that were me, I'd do that 2 this new velma 2.
the team definitely stole your idea for velma s2 lmao
This dude told a better story in 2-3 minutes than the Velma show could in two seasons.
The most tragic part is that it seems like they never actually had to die in the first place. Scooby got scared and immediately rejected them before there was any real confirmation that they would reject him. He alone created a loop where they, especially Velma, have no choice but to reject him because he's truly a horrifying monster. One that just keeps harming them, and won't let them die.
That's exactly what I was thinking, I feel like Scooby probably could've just played it off with an "I don't know" but because he panicked and killed them, they're all trapped in this cycle that'll never end
I think it's symbolic of the way the keep bringing back reboots of scooby doo instead of just letting it die in an endless cycle
Scooby is usually the one supernatural thing they ever come across. Can't say it'd be the best of times.
Maybe the truth is worse.

What's sad is it's always Velma that brings up Scooby's ability to talk. If he just remade everyone except for Velma the illusion would never break... But he loves her too. It isn't the same without her. So he keeps bringing her back, and they're trapped in this cycle.
13 Ghosts, Scooby + Scrappy Show, plus quite a few movies that were just Shaggy, Scrappy, and Scooby. He tried...But someone always remembers or questions...eventually. I can even see Scrappy being the one to ask the question b/c he's young, curious, and does the exact opposite of Shaggy and Scooby.
The sad thing is, he tried to overcome the talking issue in this version. He was just going to be a regular dog on their adventures.. But even when he didn't talk, he didn't unhinge his jaw, and he didn't do anything too strange, he was still found out because of velma.
This hurt me
He wouldn't have to remake the world if he just laughed it off.
It really is an amazing theory to think Velma is the reason why they keep changing the animation styles because she keeps questioning why scooby doo can talk.
The fact that he captures less of their essence is basically saying the shows keep getting farther and farther from the original, which is definitely true.
