Been seeing a few people bring up that since Scooby is a talking dog, shouldn’t all stories be placed in the Marvelous? But similar rules to the “advances villain technology” apply here. Even if we don’t have the scientific advancements that the villains have, it’s still explained as rational in the world of the fiction. Even if we don’t have talking dogs in our world, it still seems normal for Scooby to talk in the fiction, so it doesn’t count as supernatural. I wrote a whole section in my script about this but cut it out. So I’ll paste it here now. SPOILERS for Mystery Incorporated: So far, we’ve been trying to separate all Scoob media into two camps, one where nothing supernatural happens and one where at least some supernatural things occur. But, shouldn’t they all fall under the latter category? I mean, Scooby-Doo is a series that has an unexplained unnatural element in every single installment. There’s a dog that talks. And not even all dogs, just some of them. Last time I checked, that goes against the laws of nature as we understand them. Dogs don’t talk in our world… I’m told. Idk, I’ve only ever had cats. Maybe Sparta is just a thinker with not much to say. Quite fittingly, though, Todorov uses the examples of talking animals to explain why these kinds of stories aren’t always inherently placed in the genre of the Marvelous. “There exist narratives which contain supernatural elements without the reader’s ever questioning their nature, for [they] realizes that [they are] not to take them literally. If animals speak in a fable, doubt does not trouble the reader’s mind: [they know] that the words of the text are meant to be taken in another sense, which we call allegorical.” - Todorov Todorov here was likely referring to fables or poems or very outwardly allegorical novels, but cartoons for sure apply here. Yes, a dog can talk to super sleuth teenagers, but that’s not intended to be seen as a paranormal phenomenon. It’s simply a trope that viewers rarely question and honestly kind of expect from a children’s cartoon. Unless you’re the tv show Mystery Incorporated where for some reason they had to build this simple cartoon trope into LORE! Any animal that can talk in the Scooby-Doo universe are descendants of Anunnaki, a race of creatures living in another dimension who have no physical forms, so they have to inhabit the bodies of animals! What a fun twist! - So hopefully that clears that up a bit.
It's also similar to the Sherlock appearance then since the gang fully except that scooby can speak but occasionally people in the world are surprised at how human like this dog acts or is treated. It's ambiguous as to whether this should be expected or not.
So... what about settings where magic fits in that slot of established, accepted part of the setting, with consistent rules, or at least as consistent as the rules of science in Scooby-Doo? In such a setting, magic functions similarly to science, with some people understanding it better than others. It becomes supernatural to us, but not to the people who live in the world. Where do they fall on the categorization?
@@Jallorn I think it has a lot to do with how the characters react to it. The supernatural elements in zombie island are consistent, but they work against the characters established normal. It's wondrous. Meanwhile, everyone's fine with scooby talking. It's uncanny, but normal. If you happen to watch anime, then the fullmetal alchemist series has a similar tension. Alchemy is mundane and uncanny, but a key mystery of the series is if and how a philosopher's stone exists. The stone is outside what is normal. It still has rules, but it is marvellous, beyond nature itself.
We even have a marvelous explanation for Scooby's sentience. In 2010's "Mystery Incorperated", it's revealed that in ancient history, aliens with no corporeal form came to Earth, and possessed animals in order to communicate with humans, and Scooby is a descendant of one of these animals, whose physiology was altered to allow for at least human-level intelligence.
The Anunnaki are also responsible for lot of Supernatural elements of our world Anything hyperdimensional treats anything from lower dimensions as programmable matter are basis of Scooby doo's human-like biology What stressed me out was: people pretends anything seems supernatural(when explained as something less mundane) never existed in our world
“Shaggy and Scooby are um.....doin their own thing” I have never heard a line that represents their characters any better in all of the scooby doo movies and shows
in the immortal words of Eddie Izzard: We love Shaggy and Scooby because they were cowards! Because we can identify with them. We love them! The other guys driving the van? F*** off!
I loved this! I grew up with so many different variants of Scooby Doo and always felt confused whenever it involved real ghosts/monsters. I'm glad to see this topic not only explored so thoroughly but in a charming endearing way!
The best part of Mystery Incorporated is that they take the point right between the supernatural and the rational. Yes, supernatural stuff exists, but they assert that it does have a rational scientific explanation, we just don't have the ability to understand it at this point in human knowledge.
Agreed. Really great series once you get into it. I wish the newer direct to video movies applied that logic instead of having Velma be the denier of everything with "we just hallucinated everything" in a bad attempt to make viewers doubt there were real monsters at all throughout scooby doo's shows and movies.
I appreciate that almost all of the supernatural elements tie into the larger storyline, as it gives the grand emphasis of that plotline much more cohesiveness when you realize all the actual ghosts and inter-dimensional beings are tied to one event. The only thing I can remember that did not have direct play onto the story arc was the voodoo magic used, but I think that was more a love letter to the Hex Girls than actually trying to be a mystery itself.
thats far worse than just adding in supernatural garbage to begin with, it not only fails to teach kids to not believe in that garbage but teachs that its not only real but also to keep believing even if it can't be explained yet.
I love how Scoobynatural handled the dilemma - Sam & Dean's world was "outside" the show, and the "fictional" universe of Scooby-Doo appeared to behave more rationally than "reality."
I mean its because theyre banking off of the new scooby doo movie. whenever a hyge movie drops youtubers innodate with similar content to try to profit from it
Mystery Incorporated establishes that while the characters are using electronic devices to talk to each other they’re actually looking at us, not to each other. So, you are right. It involves us too!
I wouldn’t even describe Scooby Doo as a franchise at war with itself, so much as I would describe it as a franchise that’s incredibly *malleable.* B-Mask’s “Scooby Scale” video covers it really well, I think, how Scooby is a rare IP that can stretch and go off in weird directions often counter to previous incarnations while still being recognizably “itself”.
Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated is still my favorite Scooby Doo media. The overarching plot of the series was so compelling for me and characters outside of the main gang actually felt really fleshed out
This reminds me of Clarke's Third Law and its corollary: Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. Any sufficiently explained magic is indistinguishable from technology.
Sold, I'll check it out Edit from the future: I've finished season one, I absolutely love it. Sometimes it skews just a little young for my taste as far as humor, but overall it's the best Scooby Doo anything I've ever seen. And it can be surprisingly mature at times.
I think your analysis of the early history of RPGs would be fascinating. I'm in a game of Empire of the Petal Throne by Professor M.A.R. Barker, first published in 1975. The contrast to D&D in terms of sources and design philosophy are interesting. I'd love to hear your take.
I don’t think I ever realized how much I love the Scooby Doo franchise until your videos. It’s been part of my life from as far back as I can remember, watching the original 70’s version with my grandma in her living room, to watching What’s New Scooby Doo and the live action as a kid, and now as an adult I am realizing how much I still love and care about the series. Thank you so much for this video 🥺❤️
, I remember as a young lad in the 1970s watching the Scooby Doo Movies (I think that it was called). Each episode, the Scooby gang would team up with such luminaries as the Three Stooges, Batman and Robin and even Sonny and Cher to solve mysteries. It followed the script with the unmasking the villain at the end. But there was one episode where the gang met Jeannie, which at the time was a Saturday morning cartoon knock-off of I Dream of Jeannie. They were up against a evil jinn, whose might and magic they were helpless against. Jeannie used her magic to defeat the jinn. I remember thinking how calm Fred and Velma were at encountering real supernatural beings. This episode made an impression on me on how the fantastical elements of another genre rudely shattered the boundaries of the Scooby-verse at that time.
It was technically called The New Scooby Doo Movies. Typically, it would be either a team up with celebrity playing themselves or with another Hanna Barbera cartoon. I was never really clear if the Jeanie from the HB cartoon was supposed to be the same one as from the live action show. I'd love to see a video on the influence of Scooby Doo, especially in the 70's and early 80's. There were tons of clones like Jabberjaw, Fangface, Goober and the Ghost Chasers. Even the first season of Super Friends was heavily influenced by Scooby Doo.
@@carlrood4457 If I recall correctly, Goober and the Ghost Chasers was almost exactly the same show *except* that there, there were real ghosts (and the dog could turn invisible for some reason). So they were exploring that distinction even at the time.
Actually, thats incorrect. He is the descendant of an alien race called the Anunnaki that were revered as gods. This 100% canonical, as it is explained in the TV show.

@@CYoung-xn1rx Actually thats incorrect. The alien race he is descended from is the Anunnaki. That is 100% canonical fact, as described by the TV show itself.
Mystery Inc is the best thing involving Scooby Doo. As someone in their 30's who has seen every iteration of the show, it really got old after a while. Simply making the show have a continuous story line made a huge difference, not to mention the writing was great IMO. Just a shame it only got two seasons, as I feel its the definitive way experience Scooby Doo.
Magmafrost13 Just because Gibli movies are animated movies from Japan it isn't automatically the same as anime in general just like not all american animation is the same. Gibli makes movies, they happen to use animation, liking them doesn't mean liking the entire Japanese animation industry.
shinobody Oh come on, first of all I am an old anime fan, (even though I can’t spell Ghibli lol) but fact is that in *Japan* the word anime means animation yes, but in the rest of the world anime means things like Naruto, Sailor Moon and Death Note, which are vastly different genres, but they share a ”feel” that Studio Ghibli movies doesn’t have. Which means certain western series can mimic that anime ”feel” like The Last Airbender etc. Which you know, the Japanese refer to as anime, just like they do of Disney movies.
@@willowweedsYT You're describing shonen anime, as in a genera. Anime is a medium. Like I can't just say "movie" and have you know what I'm talk about, but if I say "horror movie" you now have a more general idea of the subject matter.
@@willowweedsYT You're completely wrong about this, to be honest. This idea that anime can't have a different feel discredits japanese animation as an entertainment medium. You're saying that since ghibli films are different from the other anime you've seen, that makes them not anime, which presents a flaw in reasoning similar to if you said "Quintin Tarantino movies are different from Adam Sandler movies, therefore his works aren't movies and are something completely different". Also, Death Note doesn't share a single thing with Sailor Moon at all, other than both being animated. I don't really know what you could be referring to.
I picked up mystery inc when my daughter was looking for Scooby Doo. I loved the over all mystery because it made me always think of the players and pieces and it is resolved awesomely. I may have seen the small picture, but I watched with her to see it grow bigger. It was really well done. It really is a love letter to all the Scooby's before it.
I think the first episode I remember watching as a kid was the one on haunted isle. In that one, they never see meet anyone else but the ghost, so all the clues are about how it was done, but not by who specifically. Plus theres this dialogue: Velma: there's a logical explanation for this. Shaggy: Oh yeah? And what's that? Velma: This place is haunted. I also love that the guy just wants to impress them at the end with how he did his walking through walls trick. Honestly he seemed like the only villain who wasn't all that upset about being caught.

He gets pretty close to accurately matching Casey Kasem and Matthew Lillard's voices for Shaggy. When characters get voiced by a new actor, unless the actor can mimic the previous actor pretty accurately, it's easy to notice them as not the same. For example, from 2002 to 2015, Velma had been voiced by Mindy Cohn. Kate Micucci has been used for the role since around 2015, and hearing clips where she's voicing Velma sticks out because there's a change. She talks like Velma has always talked, but there's something different about her voice.
I study philosophy, and love it, but I never knew that there was a sub-genre that analysed one of my favourite things - pop culture. Thank you for shedding new light on a topic I was already beginning to fall in love with.
Man am I happy to see such a long analysis on Scooby Doo! Pointing out that it generally belongs in the fantastic category was really awesome, and explained one of the things I love the most about the show, which is the uncertainty of whether or not the threat is going to be supernatural or not in nature this time. It makes the mystery more exciting by adding to the number of potential explanations. Also I haven't finished the video yet but please give your cat attention
Last time I watched Nerdsync, I was in the emergency room for a stomach scare where I had been vomiting all liquid and solids for 4 days straight. I binged the nerdsync catalog on my phone from the hospital bed and it kept me entertained. Reminded me how thankful I am for entertainers like this.
Hello Nerdsync, I really enjoyed this episode. This was a cool topic and I found myself intrigued every second. I also loved the ghost subplot and how it tied into the video. I think the best scene was the confrontation with the ghost. What I loved about it was how it replicated the mystery feeling of scooby doo. As you were trying to figure out who the ghost was I thought it would be the super Carlin brothers for the reasons you listed in the video until that was shot down (I also found the red harring joke funny). It gave that feeling of trying to solve the mystery and what I loved about the RUclips reveal is that it took the pieces of evidence I thought would lead to the Carlin brothers like the boomerang subscribition and mixed it with the Nintendo switch to give the pieces of evidence a new meaning that was foreshadowed throughout the video (also the line about monsters always being greedy corporations was good). Overall the ghost portion gave me a good laugh and were really entertaining. Thanks!
Great work, Scott! Monsters Unleashed is a gem. It's pretty nice the only Scooby Doo I consumed as a kid and I loved it. Definitely explore what you'd like to do. Do I think every video has to be an epic like this? Not necessarily, but regardless whatever you make I know it'll be a joy to watch. Also, nice water flosser! I have one in blue.
Also: when you were in the process of revealing the ghost, I was sure the other Scott would be brought up. Granted, it would require people to know of existing canon of the show to know there's a Skrull Scott, and therefore wouldn't make for the most satisfying attempt at a reveal (since it was never brought up in the episode), but I still thought it could have been a consideration (probably only because I know of that canon and no other reason).
The reason I love Mystery Incorporated so much isn't the overarching story, the gorgeous art style or even Fred's trap fetish. It's the weaving of both the grounded and supernatural styling of the past.
17:37 Brilliant ad placement there buckaroo! Lol Just when we were getting the “unmasking” it cut off into the ads, just like how you mentioned with your What’s New Scooby-Doo unmasking bit. Jinkies! This must be a clue! *grabs supercomputer and inputs the data*
Well Scott, congratulations, you've convinced me to watch the entire Scooby-Doo franchise. Also, I never actually knew they were all connected, I thought they just kept rebooting the series every now and then.
If this marks your return, what a great way to start. Although I can absolutely appreciate reasons for stepping away and doing other things, I’ve missed videos on this channel. Thank you for your wonderful content.
From her point of view, it is a dog that everyone can understand, who talks., and he is not the only member of the "talking Dog" breed.. So it is rational to accept him talking, because scientific evidence has shown that he can. Ghosts generally have no such prrof in the shows where she is adamant they do not exist.
Didn't Mystery Inc. say Scooby was a descendant of aliens and some of them are capable of speech? That seems to be a fairly rational, in-universe, explanation for a talking dog. Even the, now ended, Scooby-Doo Apocalypse comic had the explanation of cybernetics being the reason he can talk. Yes, I know, it doesn't fit in the overall narrative of the animated series.
I will not stand for this 13 ghosts of scooby doo slander. I’ve never seen it but someone else on the internet told me how to feel about it before you did
I remember watching Dobie Gillis every other night on tv when I couldn't sleep. As a gen a z kid I was surprised to find that the show was actually really funny and enjoyable. I always thought his friend was similar to shaggy I'm so shocked to find out the show was the inspiration for scooby doo. Always love your videos take all the time you want we'll be waiting.
It's timely, what with the Scoob movie. Also, I saw Film Theory's video on Scoob the other day and got super excited thinking it was nerdsyncs :P I'm glad this is out, I loved this video! Also Mathew Lillard is one of the best gifts the 00's gave us, a national treasure, and fun fact, Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island gave my little sister an irl zombie phobia that has persisted for like, 20 years lol. And I am so there for those video ideas, Nerdsync on DnD is so far up my alley my colon hurts.
The actual title of the video should be "The RUclips algorithm LITERALLY scares Scott into doing his job while Scooby-Doo plays in the background. Also Scott has probably been stuck inside a bit too long."
He’s totally going to go full ham in recreating the entire the Bob Ross episode look in full garb, props, authentic vocal performance and background, isn’t he?
I kept this on the back burner since it came out, until I had some actual time to pay attention to it. This was so much fun and so so so well done. I hope you had at least half the fun I had watching when you made this. Good luck with future projects!

I know this is 4 years old, but I just wanted to say that I am not a scooby fan, the show scared me as a kid and I don’t have a way to watch it now. But regardless, I’ve watched this video multiple times and still enjoy it. I think that’s what makes Scott such a great creator, he makes you care about topics that you otherwise wouldn’t. Scott, I know that you likely won’t see this comment, but if you do, take it from a longtime fan of your channel, you’re doing a great job
But you want to know the REAL best detective show featuring a dog? *Blues Clues.* You heard me. Scoob's got nothing on that pristine example of mystery solving and deductive reasoning!
Remember, blues paw print would always be on each and every clue. Blues clues. That means, technically, that Blue had already solved the mystery hours before anyone else did, and was just waiting for all of the other people to catch up.

this video is a masterpiece, I got to admit it's pretty long so I had to watch it in two sitting because of lives obligations. When you were talking about the 13 ghosts of scooby doo episode where scooby was so stressed out- I was deeply involved and shocked at the emotion to the point I laughed when you pointed out the several instances of bananas being spelt wrong. It was the perfect time to put a joke in and I loved it more than I expected. I've also never seen youtube videos broken into little segments like this and I think that's both super interesting and useful
Thank you Scott for such an amazing video in such an amazing job, I've been watching your channel for about good four years or so and honestly your content has helped me a lot, I suffer from depression and anxiety there's been quite a few dark times where just listening and watch your videos have helped and either cheered me up or distracted me, you're such a hard working man and I just wanted to say thank you, I hope you see this also I LOVE Scooby Doo myself and watching this made me smile so much!
I appreciated you including ScoobyNatural. I don’t care how naff it was, I loved it. ScoobyNatural forever!!! Also, there was a point to the show, regarding whether the gang should be believing in the supernatural, or if it should remain about unmasking and showing that no supernatural exists. Dean (and therefore the show) after managing to convince them that the supernatural does indeed actually exist, decides that in fact, they should remain ignorant- that the point of the show is to be about reason and such. So it’s naff, but it actually took a a look at Scooby Doo as a show, and at the most common fan question there is - should there be real monsters that the gang believes in? And again, I love it, just as I love Supernatural. No shame here. I know that it’s extremely flawed, and they let go of any character progression for the main characters ten seasons ago, and the few excellent writers they did have have pretty much all left (I miss you Robbie Thompson, who brought us such wonderful episodes as Baby and Don’t Call Me Shurley), and we’ve been stuck with the nepotism duo Buckleming for far too long But I love it anyway. It’s just a thing.
I came back to Supernatural just for that crossover episode. Loved it. Supernatural was always really good at getting meta and that episode is one of the best!

If animals speak in a fable, doubt does not trouble the reader’s mind: [they know] that the words of the text are meant to be taken in another sense, which we call allegorical.” - Todorov
Todorov here was likely referring to fables or poems or very outwardly allegorical novels, but cartoons for sure apply here.
-
So hopefully that clears that up a bit.
The Anunnaki are also responsible for lot of Supernatural elements of our world
Anything hyperdimensional treats anything from lower dimensions as programmable matter are basis of Scooby doo's human-like biology
What stressed me out was: people pretends anything seems supernatural(when explained as something less mundane) never existed in our world
“Shaggy and Scooby are um.....doin their own thing”

And that line is firmly between seasons 1 and 2
@@justinarney3050 well it’s a separate universe so it’s okay
I love how Scoobynatural handled the dilemma - Sam & Dean's world was "outside" the show, and the "fictional" universe of Scooby-Doo appeared to behave more rationally than "reality."
Also the gang grabbing shotguns and having existential crisis was the best.
The internet is spoiling me with all this Scooby nostalgia.

Mystery Incorporated establishes that while the characters are using electronic devices to talk to each other they’re actually looking at us, not to each other. So, you are right. It involves us too!
Anyone else notice how on point Scott’s impressions of the characters are?
Long time no see Scott, we missed you! Yesterday I literally was thinking about the Spiderman/Myaterio episode what a weird coincidence!
The overarching plot of the series was so compelling for me and characters outside of the main gang actually felt really fleshed out
This reminds me of Clarke's Third Law and its corollary:
Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.
Any sufficiently explained magic is indistinguishable from technology.
The Doo-ality pun is actually the best thing I've ever heard
"Mystery Inc is not just a series, it's love letter to Scooby Doo."

Edit from the future: I've finished season one, I absolutely love it. Sometimes it skews just a little young for my taste as far as humor, but overall it's the best Scooby Doo anything I've ever seen. And it can be surprisingly mature at times.
"I want to talk about Studio Ghibli films, or Dungeons & Dragons"

Both. Run a Ghibli champagne in DnD.
I think your analysis of the early history of RPGs would be fascinating. I'm in a game of Empire of the Petal Throne by Professor M.A.R. Barker, first published in 1975. The contrast to D&D in terms of sources and design philosophy are interesting. I'd love to hear your take.
A lad of good taste
I'm stoked for the upcoming videos.
So they were exploring that distinction even at the time.
and thats what was call a mistake, something we should have learned to never repeat.
"A pup named Scooby Doo" and "What's new Scooby Doo?" are heavilly underrated.
Not seen "a Pup named Scooby Doo" but I am fully in agreement with you on "What's New Scooby Doo?" It is such a good version of the series.
Fun fact: canonically speaking Scooby Doo isn't a dog. He's the offspring of a Lovecraftian elder god.
Actually, thats incorrect. He is the descendant of an alien race called the Anunnaki that were revered as gods. This 100% canonical, as it is explained in the TV show.
C. Young Wow finally someone who actually has valid arguments and points about the Lovecraft Mythos other than Lovecraft fanboys just screaming “it’s just work”
I saw a documentary where the creators said it was a Great Dane. I'm going to believe them over you. You understand right?
Gregory Chiadika He’s a Great Dane, but he’s also a descendent of an alien species
Scott: "I dont watch anime"
Also Scott: "I want to talk about Studio Ghibli films"
Magmafrost13 Just because Gibli movies are animated movies from Japan it isn't automatically the same as anime in general just like not all american animation is the same. Gibli makes movies, they happen to use animation, liking them doesn't mean liking the entire Japanese animation industry.
@@willowweedsYT "Anime" simply means Japanese animation. It doesn't denote any specific genre.
shinobody Oh come on, first of all I am an old anime fan, (even though I can’t spell Ghibli lol) but fact is that in *Japan* the word anime means animation yes, but in the rest of the world anime means things like Naruto, Sailor Moon and Death Note, which are vastly different genres, but they share a ”feel” that Studio Ghibli movies doesn’t have.

I think the first episode I remember watching as a kid was the one on haunted isle. In that one, they never see meet anyone else but the ghost, so all the clues are about how it was done, but not by who specifically. Plus theres this dialogue:
Velma: there's a logical explanation for this.
Shaggy: Oh yeah? And what's that?
Velma: This place is haunted.
I also love that the guy just wants to impress them at the end with how he did his walking through walls trick. Honestly he seemed like the only villain who wasn't all that upset about being caught.

@@printthelegends Not super difficult voices? PFFF, atleast half the population of earth cannot do those voices. As a girl, I can never hope to impersonate Scooby and Shaggy no matter how I try.
printthelegends and yet the new Scoob! movie somehow has a terrible shaggy voice lol
@@printthelegends They're not hard to mimic structurally, but tonally and vocally they're hard to match.

I still love the 13 ghosts of Scooby Doo. I don’t know why it just makes me happy.
Why am I completely unsurprised about hearing Quinton's voice in a Scooby video?
Man am I happy to see such a long analysis on Scooby Doo! Pointing out that it generally belongs in the fantastic category was really awesome, and explained one of the things I love the most about the show, which is the uncertainty of whether or not the threat is going to be supernatural or not in nature this time. It makes the mystery more exciting by adding to the number of potential explanations. Also I haven't finished the video yet but please give your cat attention
interesting, I abhore the real monsters crap because it ruins the point of having reveals at all.
You sound more like Shaggy than whoever’s doing the voice in the new movie
I gotta say, I quite like the cinematography on this video. I like how the lighting was played and focal effects.
Scott and the rest of the team, I'm sure other people said it, but I just wanted to say that this video was...
Fantastic.
17:37

If this marks your return, what a great way to start. Although I can absolutely appreciate reasons for stepping away and doing other things, I’ve missed videos on this channel. Thank you for your wonderful content.
i like velma and all but if she demands rationality, i have a phrase for her: TALKING DOG
Yes, I know, it doesn't fit in the overall narrative of the animated series.
ranwolf76 That was something only learned at the end of the series
Forget that. Why does scoob has a very limited vocabulary but scrappy can talk normally?
You have obviously never had a Siberian Husky.
I will not stand for this 13 ghosts of scooby doo slander. I’ve never seen it but someone else on the internet told me how to feel about it before you did

Came back to rewatch this again because it’s legit one of my favorite videos I’ve ever seen. You really nailed this one! I love Scooby Doo so much ❤️
I appreciated you including ScoobyNatural.
Personally I think that episode handled the gang coming to terms with real supernatural events better than mystery incorporated did
I came back to Supernatural just for that crossover episode. Loved it. Supernatural was always really good at getting meta and that episode is one of the best!
