Nice. I see you’re visiting powerplant mall. I live in Rockwell and it’s nice living here because it’s very calm compared to other malls except for the holiday season. During the holidays, it tends to get busy because everyone likes to go to see the decor and the lights. People tend to think Rockwell is a place of snobs but I’ve honestly never really had to deal with any. People tend to mind their own business here which I like. Anyways, keep up the great vlogs. I’m a new sub.
That area is rockwell makati, a posh area of makati, condos in that area are much more expensive than BGC, poblacion is close to that, poblacion is an area like light red light district of makati, many restobars. You should visit ayala malls, and the ayala triangle dancing lights at makati also, you can also visit eastwood city at quezon city.
@@MattReardonVlogs yes, ypu should go back to rockwell at night time on december, they lit up tge whole place in bright yellow color making it to appear shining like gold at night, almost all the bldgs. put bright yellow line colors and also if you will stay here at the ph until new years eve, and you will be amazed.
As a real estate agent we classify Rockwell in the Alpha category. A 2 br apartment unit cost about 90K pesos rent a month (about $1.7K approximately). The New year fireworks in Rockwell is one of the best in Metro Manila. The big structure beside the river is called Century Alpha hotel.

It's very diversed.
You are right Matt, that's a place where monied people live...I am glad you liked the local food Piyaya, its like a flat tortilla with coconut filling...enjoy the Philippines
You made it to Rockwell Center bro. One of the snobbiest places in the Philippines lol. Beautiful area ❤ You can walk further on the other side and you can see Bel-Air Village, an exclusive village of Rockwell.
@@MattReardonVlogs Nice. Rockwell Center is also the go-to place for the wealthiest in the metro from nearby exclusive villages like Forbes Park, Dasma etc.
Wherever mall you go in Metro Manila, expect that it will be crowded. December is the month when Filipinos have more money . Also Filpinos want to spend time for their families. Business is booming during this time of year.
Go to Burgos Circle in BGC every Sunday morning at around 7am. Supercars usually congregate in that area. You will see a line-up of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, etc. in that area every Sunday morning.
Hey Matt that river is Pasig River it’s a major lifeline of the city not only of Manila but other cities it flows into like Makati where you’re at. Did you know that you can catch a river ferry near where you hung out and in just a few minutes you’re in Escolta/Binondo? You should try it some time. Beats the city traffic any day.
Piaya are traditionally from the city of Bacolod from the province of Negros Occidental (western Negros island). I've never had one with peanuts before though. The original ones have a filling of muscovado sugar since Negros is known for sugar plantations.
The river is the historic Pasig river which until now is not fully rehabilatated. Snippet: I love the Goldish tall Christmas Tree right in the middle of the foyer. The good thing about touring the 'Green Apples,' (clark cityfront mall; eastwood mall; makati commerce district; moa malls; venice mall; asiana malls; ayala malls manila bay; power plant mall; cobao mall; ortigas mall; etc). in PH is that ready-up hot food is within reach -- carry some finger foods while perusing thru sightseeing spots would not be a bad idea. The food festival is from the city of Bacolod in central Philippines. That's where the Piaya, the Chicken Inasal, the Beef Cansi, the Napoleones and much more yummy food were born. You should visit Bacolod and Sipalay cities in Negros Island next time. Bacolod for the food and Sipalay for the white sand beaches.

If there are malls that would rival the Power Plant mall, my bets would be the Podium in Ortigas and the malls inside the big casinos (Solaire, Okada and City of Dreams) in Entertainment City. You might want to visit those casinos. Not to gamble (though you can) but to look around. Their buildings are magnificent. You might also want to walk around Entertainment City. There are more constructions going on there than in Ortigas.
Ah yes that is right. I've been recommended the Podium Mall. I think I will go back next time in the area. And yes, i'd like to spend a few days near MOA and Okada. Would be a fun adventure.
