"I want to get some business cards. Not because I own my own business, but because I want to win some lunches... The cards will say Mitch Hedberg: Potential lunch winner. Gimme a call. We'll have lunch... If I'm lucky." - Mitch Hedberg
His first public performance on Comedy Central was amazing. No one there understood his humor until about halfway through (he was bombing hard), at which point he won them over. It’s funny because he never changed a thing about how he performs comedy, and his act was so successful because he is charming enough to just win you over! And then and only then do you see the sheer genius in it all.
Mitch Hedberg was one of the greatest standup comics of all time. I was so lucky to see him live just a few months before he died. He simply slayed, 1500 people rolling on the floor laughing helplessly.

I remember when it happened. He was supposed to be on the 98 Rock Morning Show in Baltimore, but he didn't show up. The DJs knew his cell number, so they gave him a call to make sure he was okay, and his wife answered. They barely got a word in before she told them to call his manager and hung up. I would have bought them from a mr sholls😂😂
About a year before he passed, I saw him at the Addison Improv. We went to the 11p show. He was so drunk by then, he did most of his set laying on his back. But he still killed it.
Whoa, so funny to see this comment! I was at that show too. Mitch slumped down against the brick wall and just mumbled into the mic for a while, almost out of it, and was still hilarious.

I love how most of the comments are Mitch's Sets. It's brilliant to see a comedian not only remembered for his talent, but also, uniquely remembered through quoting him. That is until Steven Wright leaves us. Those two are highly quotable!
It's a good point. I'd like to point out though, that both these comedians are unique in their very short jokes. It's easier to quote these guys because they've made a point not to tell longer jokes.

He simply slayed, 1500 people rolling on the floor laughing helplessly.

man I get so sad to think he died at 37 alone in a hotel room. I wish I could just hug him and tell him how much hes missed and loved. He made the world a better place.
I remember when it happened. He was supposed to be on the 98 Rock Morning Show in Baltimore, but he didn't show up. The DJs knew his cell number, so they gave him a call to make sure he was okay, and his wife answered. They barely got a word in before she told them to call his manager and hung up. They called again, left a message telling him they hoped everything was okay. I guess the producer called Mitch's manager and got the news, because the DJs told us, the listeners, the bad news a short time later.
@@trackrick Pretty sure he died in a hotel room in Jersey. So he would have had to have been calling into the show.
