Haven't seen the show and likely won't watch it, but I wanted to add that while Cortosis can short out Lightsabers people often forget that Cortosis - when pure - is very brittle and toxic that easily seeps into the skin and kills whoever is touching it. The only way to fix that is by refining the Cortosis into an alloy - it makes the metal more durable and long lasting but loses its ability to short out lightsabers. Cortosis isn't the only metal that is resistant to lightsabers, aside from Beskar there are metals like Songsteel, Phrik and Ultrachrome which are resistant to lightsabers.
From a epicness standpoint choreograph really did an outstanding job, whole battle looked sick but Disney doesn't seem to understand that jedi are trained with the sword for at LEAST a decade for even youngest of them. They just swing the sword around like some Moff Gideon, completely ignoring weakpoints, disarmament techniques, learning of an enemy, etc. Jedi after jedi trying to hit the helmet in a same identical move may look epic, but it just doesn't make any sense inside any melee training, let alone star wars main swordsman's. And we can't even say "well, it's a High Republic, they forgot the ways of war", cause specifically duels is what every single jedi on that screen was trained in literally non stop...
There's enough things to hate about the show, but there are many good things in episode that deserved to be praised and highlighted moving forwards. The writing is still ass though.
"The only other metal we've seen come close to this is Beskar" Not entire correct. There is at least one metal called Phrik that can also withstand lightsabers. At least in Legends the pikes/staffs used by the Magnaguard droids of General Grievous were made out of or at least coated in Phrik
Also for the first time we see a lightsaber constructed out of two lightsabers in live action. Asajj Ventress had one for like 5min into the clone wars movie and Cal and Dagan Gera have one, too, I know. But LA might be a first?

This just tore Star Wars apart plot holes not lining up with cannon the Sith returned a 100 years earlier but Kinyada Mundy did not know then but a 100 years later he still denies the Sith during the Phantom Menus so every one in the Acolytes has to die including the Sith before any one on the High Council finds out. This is garbage stick with cannon and get this woketard crap off the screen.
Is it so fucking hard for trash Lucasfilm to make Star Wars Animated Movies/Series Based on Famous Legends/EU characters and stories separate from Dave Filoni Disney Canon Universe for Star Wars could also have Multiverse and Elseworlds with Legends Universe, Disney Canon Universe and Elseworlds/WHAT IF Universe.
He is no Sith. He‘s the founder of the Knights of Ren. Kylo‘s theme is clearly hearable in episode 5‘s last scene. Qimir is probably Ren. „He said JEDI would call him Sith. He has no name.“
Nice to see Cortosis back. Jedi Outcast was the only thing that properly utilized it, imo, as something that felt like more than just a gimmick. The Admiral Fyyar fight was hard as hell.
Let us not dear friends forget our dear friend Trask Ulgo who served on the Endar Spire in KOTOR who kindly and calmly explained that the swords you carry were made of cortosis
I read an article saying that they showed the trakata technique in this show, can anyone confirm this?🤔 I could be misremembering what I read however....😅
So Qimir’s helmet prevents Sol from reading his mind. Then the helmet breaks and the idea doesn’t even cross Sol’s mind. Like Sol literally started asking Qimir who he is and what he wants all while using this “mind reading” ability is all possible, according to Qimir himself.
I have a mild concern that I don't want Canon to get oversaturated with metals and materials that can resist lightsabers like Legends did over time, but where we're at currently, I actually do like having Cortosis and Beskar, both of which interact *differently* with lightsabers on contact- just surviving the hit vs absorbing enough energy to temporarily disable the lightsaber. I do think that the setting is stronger with some restraint in the long run on introducing more stuff like this, but this addition was fun, and is strong in this specific story, showing how much Qimir is specifically equipped to fight and kill Jedi, and what an absolute terror he is to the Jedi he encounters, with strange weapons they've never seen before used in creative and dangerous ways.
With 7-8 Jedi Masters present wouldnt they all collectively be able to force hold Smilo Ren in place until hes incapacitated? I think Ahsoka did that to defeat Darth Maul at the end of Clone Wars or am I thinking too much?
I mean...the God damn trees being in the way made it really bad choreography because they had to hide the fact he was fighting a group of Jedi knights at once which is ridiculous in the first place. The only 2 sections that were decent in terms of fight scene was with jecki and sol, but even storywise is where it fails to explain how a Padawan can match this guy's strength when he plowed through Jedi knights so easily. And overall the back and forth with the story and switching sides with may and the whole convoluted plot with the qimirs motivation. It just fails overall still to deliver something compelling or make us care for any of those characters really.
Are you sure it’s not that lightsabers can’t really do damage anymore? Seems like it hit his helmet the same as Obiwans did against those stormtrooper. I mean at this point in Disney SW I just expect Lightsaber’s to not do damage
I didn't like the beginning of the fight. They used big ass trees to block most of the camera when he was up against multiple opponents. The rest was pretty good, minus some complaints
stuff like this makes star wars less interesting, it always adds the question of why this stuff is not used everywhere and calling it rare doesn't justify it. makes lightsabers all that less menacing as a weapons, same goes for bescar armor.
The best disney star wars lightsaber scene. The show is still terrible. Its a shame that it was written by elementary school kids, if there were more scenes like the battle the show might actually be mid and bearable to watch. Seriously this channel has fallen off. Why are you shilling fo disney?
So Darth Vader wasnt able to get any of that rare metal for his armor? This no name sith somehow was able to get his hands on this rare metal and make a helmet with a smiley on it? I just think that having this stuff kinda complicates things since it creates questions why certain people can use them and others cant.
Def was prob the only good episode I enjoyed. There was more action than the show ever had. But I hope the other episodes are also as good. The duels we’re pretty cool

In turn I speculate that yes, following that theory, the actual Sith will kill him seeing him as a potential rival and issue.
@@theazurefire91the only sith would be tenebrous and canon wise he had Plagus, and Plagus had palps.
This guy might be a failed apprentice and I think his master might show up and kill him as qimir is. Own getting on the Jedi radar and tenebrous didn't want that
The lightsaber combat was amazing, it struck the perfect balance between the prequels and sequals.
I'm just waiting for the "fans" to find something wrong with this episode too. It should be a good day when we get cool star wars content but I swear some people won't be happy until the whole franchise is dead.
Well, maybe the fact the obvious Sith is finally revealed to be a Sith? Something the galaxy believed to be extinct for a millennia?
They're still moaning about it being lore breaking because Sith aren't supposed to exist... I swear they're broken NPCs. If they'd had functioning brains, they'd notice that no one would know about them if everyone that has seen them is dead.
@@atrocious7766 no, it’s because nobody knows the Sith exist. Which is obvious since Palpatine was able to win.
@@ericp1139um no. He is very clearly a darkside user and more aligns with that. He wants freedom from the Jedis control and basically monoply in a sense over the force. Gurantee he'll be killed by the Real Sith lord or apprentice in Ep8
@@Carpediem357 he even says (albeit in awkward lawyer speak), that he’s what they would call a Sith.
Now that's cool. I was always a fan of cortosis.
This is where we see who actually knows their lore and who doesn't. Spoiler alert: too many people fall into the latter category.
Honestly the choreography was amazing, loved seeing cortosis, they moved fast, they moved with heavy hits, it was good.
Hate the show, but the fight scenes are dope ngl
Sooo can we just see more of these fights. Skip the rest cause DAMN these fights were epic!! 😂
Jecki was way more capable than yord 😂
We‘be not seen it, because we can’t stand the show. The illogical polt and awful actors prevented that efficiency..
Worst fan-fic to date. Next.
Well you should watch it.
I’m so sad now though!! I really loved those characters 😢. Pretty shocking
From a epicness standpoint choreograph really did an outstanding job, whole battle looked sick
but
Disney doesn't seem to understand that jedi are trained with the sword for at LEAST a decade for even youngest of them.
And this is supposed to be the Jedi at their pinnacle.
No. The Jedi haven’t dueled anyone in their entire lives. And Yord even says that the Sith defies the Jedi’s traditional rules of combat.
@@ericp1139No. this is a golden age. The Jedi are not the most powerful, they are not actually fighting often.
@@oXRaptorzXo according to the High Republic books, they were just having picnics then?
@@oXRaptorzXo duels is literally what jedi physical education was based of.
I’m glad to see they’re swinging the lightsabers with actual SPEED AND SMOOTH MOVEMENT
There's enough things to hate about the show, but there are many good things in episode that deserved to be praised and highlighted moving forwards. The writing is still ass though.
"The only other metal we've seen come close to this is Beskar"
Not entire correct. There is at least one metal called Phrik that can also withstand lightsabers. At least in Legends the pikes/staffs used by the Magnaguard droids of General Grievous were made out of or at least coated in Phrik
I'm so glad there's an explanation to this. I was so confused why it happened so many times. This is actually sick
Guys you can hate this show and Star Wars in general but credit goes to where it is deserved the fights in this show was actually great
And he will now be forever known as Darth Leroy Jankins.
The show is damn bad but gotta give credit to the person who did the choreography, he or she deserves to be in more projects.
That double deception in this sequence was cold 🥶 this episode was the best by far. Choreography was pretty solid.
Brooooooooo Lets bring back the Cortosis Super Battle Droid?!?!?!
Cortosis is also a brittle metal, so it will break if struck with enough force.
Rare acolyte W
Disney just do more of this please!
Also for the first time we see a lightsaber constructed out of two lightsabers in live action. Asajj Ventress had one for like 5min into the clone wars movie and Cal and Dagan Gera have one, too, I know. But LA might be a first?
Darth Bane grew up mining cortosis, dangerous af.
I love this fight. They even use kyloran's theme song. When Force healing.
0:50 I think he's Corvus Corax
Like Endymion said: Give credit where it's due he enjoyed this entire action sequence
So he probably is a fallen Jedi or a failed Sith apprentice that hadn’t been ‘dealt with’. BUT he could be a Sith apprentice and the Jedi council in their vain arrogance just wrote him off and refused to acknowledge he was actually a Sith. 😅 does track with the foolishness that was the Jedi Council…
So how many jedi are now dead in this series
This almost redeems Disney
the Cortosis detail reminds me of the first Chapter of the Plagueis book where Tenebrous and Plagueis were inspecting a cortosis mine.
The best part about this show if defiantly the fights.
Was pretty good.
Guess what happend this episode...All the Jedi (except one, that's likely gonna die in one of the episodes) die.

@@CRYSTAL_CUSTOMS Sorry this is RUclips I did not know we need to use proper grammar to post on here.
I drove a 2008 Kinyada Mundy in high school.
For those wondering, they have 2 very simple outs to keep Mundi's TPM line intact. Let's see if anyone can guess what they are.
Honestly that’s pretty cool
"Oooooh, they swung their LIGHTSABERS AROUND! That makes this best Star Wars EVAR!" - The Mouthbreathers complimenting the atrocious choreography
qimir and sol is the only reason im watching this
Is it so fucking hard for trash Lucasfilm to make Star Wars Animated Movies/Series Based on Famous Legends/EU characters and stories separate from Dave Filoni Disney Canon Universe for Star Wars could also have Multiverse and Elseworlds with Legends Universe, Disney Canon Universe and Elseworlds/WHAT IF Universe.
He is no Sith. He‘s the founder of the Knights of Ren. Kylo‘s theme is clearly hearable in episode 5‘s last scene. Qimir is probably Ren. „He said JEDI would call him Sith. He has no name.“
Me watching episodes 1-4: "Yikes, who let Lucasfilm cook?"
Me watching this episode: "Damn, more please"
Only problem = Why are the shows so POORLY LIT… house of dragons have the same problem, having to watch on full brightness.
I dunno but the choreography strongly resembles nick gillard style and the sequel style.
I prefer nick, but this was a good mix
Blessed old animation is missing out, unfortunately. Even in non-Star Wars with lightsabers and lightsaber-esques.
It just fails overall still to deliver something compelling or make us care for any of those characters really.
man, they just keep stealing stuff from legends don't they? keep your grubby hands to yourself Disney.
Are you sure it’s not that lightsabers can’t really do damage anymore? Seems like it hit his helmet the same as Obiwans did against those stormtrooper. I mean at this point in Disney SW I just expect Lightsaber’s to not do damage
it’s so badass when he just head butts the lightsaber
I didn't like the beginning of the fight. They used big ass trees to block most of the camera when he was up against multiple opponents. The rest was pretty good, minus some complaints
Thank you for making an entertaining video and not one were you just sit and whine because the show isn't exactly what you predicted
stuff like this makes star wars less interesting, it always adds the question of why this stuff is not used everywhere and calling it rare doesn't justify it. makes lightsabers all that less menacing as a weapons, same goes for bescar armor.
Too bad I'm apparently a racist bigot because I didn't like the writing of the show 🤷
I'm assuming its like aluminum foil like the aliens prevent mind take over and sparks in microwave lol weird Al made a song about it lol
Def was prob the only good episode I enjoyed. There was more action than the show ever had. But I hope the other episodes are also as good. The duels we’re pretty cool
