      @@CameronFulkerson Like I said, the nerds who know stuff so well (which includes myself) that they complain about the Acolyte are the types to know about this metal. I mean it has been established for a while since it was introduced in the EU.
      As well, the complaints usually revolve around adding things that contradict canon, or thing added on that don't make sense, not already made things.
      And anyways, even if someone would complain about it, they would probably be immediately told that it actually existed before. I saw the same thing when someone complained about the whip lightsaber

    • @Voxalyst
      @Voxalyst 3 месяца назад

      @@QuatarTarandir I mean people got extremely upset about them giving Ki-Adi-Mundi a canon age, which he didn't actually have before. People also complained that the witches had a different name for the force, even though the force in lore has many different names in many different cultures. It seems like the people who claim to care about the lore the most, don't actually know any of it.

    • @QuatarTarandir
      @QuatarTarandir 3 месяца назад

      @@Voxalyst Eh, I still don't really like the Ki-Adi-Mundi thing, since like why? Like they have a big budget, why do they use him and not Yoda who we already knew was super old? I think it's dumb, and unless somehow no one knows about the Sith guy, then his line in the Phantom Menance is just messed up.
      And I think the force thing mostly revolves around them controlling the force, or like they just did some weird things with it. It's not like we didn't already have different versions like the Nightsister, but they just do weird things.

      That Jedi Master was unbearably smug and really set the group that gathered under false pretenses (she basically told Vader their location to force the group to fight him) to fail. True the remaining Jedi nearly overwhelmed Vader after he killed several of them, but it was enough time for the 501st to show up and blast them to death.

      Agree I’m looking forward now at this point for any actual twists, or if we get to see a young Palps off this pretender or if he actually is the apprentice.
      I can see the Jedi defeating him and actually just believe he was a pretender, which will just confirm Ki-Adi commenting that the Sith have always been extinct. Doesn’t count if the one dark sider they do come across was just deemed a Sith pretender.

      @@theazurefire91 I agree. I majorly get that sense especially because of what he said “A Jedi like you would call me.. Sith?”(paraphrasing as I don’t recall the direct line, but if you remember it roughly), the way he said it was.. off. Like he wasn’t exactly stating “Yeah, I personally call myself a Sith” or that he actually believes he is one, but more like he just figures that’s how he’d be profiled in a sense. Or I get the sense he considers himself a Sith in it that he’s maybe a darkside user who discovered a few aspects of Sith beliefs in recent and dug into learning them a bit, however isn’t a proper true full Sith that has been preserving the ways of the Sith like the true rule of two Sith. In turn I speculate that yes, following that theory, the actual Sith will kill him seeing him as a potential rival and issue.

    Haven't seen the show and likely won't watch it, but I wanted to add that while Cortosis can short out Lightsabers people often forget that Cortosis - when pure - is very brittle and toxic that easily seeps into the skin and kills whoever is touching it. The only way to fix that is by refining the Cortosis into an alloy - it makes the metal more durable and long lasting but loses its ability to short out lightsabers. Cortosis isn't the only metal that is resistant to lightsabers, aside from Beskar there are metals like Songsteel, Phrik and Ultrachrome which are resistant to lightsabers.

    but
    Disney doesn't seem to understand that jedi are trained with the sword for at LEAST a decade for even youngest of them. They just swing the sword around like some Moff Gideon, completely ignoring weakpoints, disarmament techniques, learning of an enemy, etc.
    Jedi after jedi trying to hit the helmet in a same identical move may look epic, but it just doesn't make any sense inside any melee training, let alone star wars main swordsman's.

    I have a mild concern that I don't want Canon to get oversaturated with metals and materials that can resist lightsabers like Legends did over time, but where we're at currently, I actually do like having Cortosis and Beskar, both of which interact *differently* with lightsabers on contact- just surviving the hit vs absorbing enough energy to temporarily disable the lightsaber.
    I do think that the setting is stronger with some restraint in the long run on introducing more stuff like this, but this addition was fun, and is strong in this specific story, showing how much Qimir is specifically equipped to fight and kill Jedi, and what an absolute terror he is to the Jedi he encounters, with strange weapons they've never seen before used in creative and dangerous ways.

The only 2 sections that were decent in terms of fight scene was with jecki and sol, but even storywise is where it fails to explain how a Padawan can match this guy's strength when he plowed through Jedi knights so easily. And overall the back and forth with the story and switching sides with may and the whole convoluted plot with the qimirs motivation. It just fails overall still to deliver something compelling or make us care for any of those characters really.
