DESCRIPTION:
I'm really f'ing excited to share with you something I've been working hard on for the past 2 months. It's something I'm calling "Photography On Location: Extended Play."
Think of it like a streaming series just for photographers, especially the analog shooters, with over 4 hours of entertainment split up into 12 episodes you can watch anytime and as many times as you want. It's even a bit educational, too.
The first season - titled "3 Nights in Arizona" - is available now. Just click the link at the top of the description to see the trailer.
Oh, and I'll be putting out my first ever zine to go along with it.
FOR ANYONE WHO'S PISSED ABOUT THIS:
I'm expecting this announcement to rub a few people the wrong way. Nobody likes paying for something they used to get for free. But here's the good news: that's not what's happening. You'll still be getting free RUclips videos. This is in addition to my RUclips videos, not instead of. I love this creative approach to producing quality content, and can vouch firsthand for how much effort it takes to produce several hours of final video. Everything is so very formulaic these days with so many people adopting the same tiresome clickbait approach as opposed to doing something unique. It takes someone special to break free of that cycle. Hats off to you! (BTW, I've thought about throwing some fake ads in my videos just for kicks ("This Video is sponsored by CircleJe..."). Perhaps a bit off-brand for me though. :-)

I think this is a good call. Keeping your videos/business free of advertisements really increases the quality. Nothing is worse than watching a fun video when an intrusive product placement slaps you in the face.

Really admire your ability to always come up with a solvable problem where you ensure both the product and the solution are of high value. Highly recommend this! Great videos, beautiful photography and a wonderful story that makes you feel that you're right there with Nick. Oh yeah, l must not forget the information about photography that you'll learn along the way. I like that there are multiple episodes so if you don't have time to watch it all at once you can take on one at a time. One episode seamlessly flows into the other.

An alternative to adverts I can get behind!
Hello Nick and to all other followers of Mr. Carver’s excellent work. I binge-watched this front to back-from the moment I signed up-and it’s truly outstanding, for several reasons. “Like cool water to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.” The approach Nick takes is multi-faceted. It is personal, thoughtful, and educational. It is kind of like a video version of Jack Kerouac’s “On The Road” but perhaps less of a stream of consciousness and more of a multi-chapter adventure sprinkled with the insights of a closet philosopher. From the practical-scouting a location, preparing for the images and the unexpected-to the quest for the muse of inspiration, to the technical tips and process, this set of videos has so much to offer. The results speak for themselves. I plan to own a print of the “ice shack” that he took at dusk on the last day. (You will have to watch to see it!)
Finally, for those of you (myself included) who appreciate Nick’s honesty, candor, and humility-as well as artistic talent-this extended play is well worth the price of admission. You are not going to find this dedication and quality anywhere else.

Man, this is why Nick is the GOAT. A feature length On Location (with more content than a LOTR movie) with an option to get the zine from the trip. The amount of work that goes into putting all that together (planning, filming, editing, etc) is MASSIVE and is not lost on me. I love and respect that simple business model that is "Hey, I made this very well produced product that took a ton of time and work. It cost X amount." On top of that though, releasing a more short form version for the RUclips channel is awesome! Truly a "best of both worlds" move. Mad respect!
Coming back to say that after watching every second of it in one day, I highly recommend it to anyone who has been a long time subscriber of Nick and has the means. It's broken up into episodes that you can fly through (much like binging a show) and was well worth the cost, IMHO. I enjoyed every second of it!

Nick, you're killing it. I think a great way to market this would be to bundle it with the online classes you've already made videos, etc. I think it'd be a good extra feature situation. Also just buying it out-right too for a one-time fee of $30 is such a steal. Especially for 4 hours of premium content.
Please, take my money... Can't wait to get watching.

What a great surprise from one of the best. If you don't know, Nick has the best photography related content/information out there, hands down. With so many hacks out there with their mindless and same-old regurgitated videos about photography, Nick is a true teacher and inspiration and is extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. I highly recommend that everyone not only check out his videos but sign up for his online courses too. It was the best money I've spent. I have no doubt that this new EP series will be well worth it. I can't wait to start, and I opted for a zine too! Hell yeah

I really enjoyed the EP. A great fan and love doing film (as well as digital) photography. I grew up in Orange county and appreciate the images taken of old California having spent the last 50 years in Sydney. I subscribed to the Pentax spot meter course and it was very helpful as I bought some medium format cameras, and also bought one of your prints as a way saying thank you for making me laugh and learning some photo tips. Carry on the good work.

Awesome concept, Love your videos I'll be tuning in for sure. I love your stance on adverts, sub n like requests, sponsors etc. The way I see it if folk watch your work and enjoy it they're smart enough to like and sub without any prompting. I personally don't do it, although I have activated ads it really isn't worth much to me but every bit helps. Top work Nick keep em coming.
Just to clarify personally I never wanted ads on my channel, but I was told and have since read YT will put ads on your content no matter what so I reasoned I might as well get a slice.....If I'm wrong and there's a way to stop ads altogether on my stuff I'd love to know. Cheers

Really enjoyed watching this, but I gotta say, when I was watching you having your "dark night of the soul" on your first night, part of me wanted to reach through the screen and give you a hug and part of me wanted to reach through the screen and slap you!😃 What it really means is that it's some great storytelling and I hope we don't have to wait for too long for the next series. Have you ever looked into Floatplane for streaming? Set your own monthly price, no ads other than what you sponsor (in your case, none). I think that could really streamline video hosting and charge exactly what you, and you don't have to deal with RUclips.
