Old is just an awesome piece of history, raw driving machine. New one is well breathtaking, especially in Montreal Green combo, killer! Give me both please 😃
I do love the sound of my Busso V6 but hearing the roars of the classic GTA brings me back to the mid 80s and the Alfettas I had back then, especially the 1.8. They didn't roar as much but the Nord engine and the dual dellorto carburators did make some wonderful noises as well.
The Giulia looks fabulous in that shade of green. Not sure it's worth more than twice the price of the "regular" Giulia QV though. I'm sure it will still sell like hot cakes though.
You want longer gearing?! Very strange wish in this age of extra long gearing because of stringent emission limitations. You cannot really get to higher revs within legal speed limits.
The classic Alfa Romeo GTA racing car are awesome. I like the new Alfa Romeo GTAm because it's the Sauber Formula 1 engineer and it's more powerful Alfa Romeo performance car. 😀🏎🏁🏆
When the coupe has more seats than the sedan. Ill go og Alfa every time. Hell the four cylinder sounds miles better than the GTAm thing. Hell I'd go Huracan EVO RWD over the new GTAm and still have The same number of seats for the same money.
Looks great, sounds even better. But... what is the point of a sports saloon with no rear seats, harnesses and track tyres? That makes it unusable as a saloon an still heavily compromised as a trackday car
I realise this IS subjective..BUT..I think Alfa has missed a real trick here (in much the same way that Land Rover has with the “new” Defender) Forgive me if I am wrong but the GTA was only ever a COUPE! So sticking to that then...why in heavens name have they just “rehashed” a SALOON with “rear seat delete”? Yes I agree the new one is great on performance etc, etc.....e..t..c...! BUT I get the feeling that the (buying) public are being quite literally sold short...this new GTA should (and must) be a coupe...! I smell a lot of marketing hype and bullshit coming from a once a super and legendary automotive brand (and granted..becoming again..great..with staggering vehicles as legends of their own such as the Stelvio Quadrifolio with all the bells and whistles) So come on Alfa Romeo..in my mind you have the engineering skills..stop playing on the past, stop rehashing a saloon that should be a coupe..and get a designer as talented as the greats..(Giorgetto Giugiaro et al...sorry my Italian name spelling is not what it should be!) and design a PROPER Giulia GTA that pays proper homage to the racing heritage of both Alfa Romeo and the greats such as Rindt that drove them... (Oh..incidentally..you don’t see Hamilton racing saloons or coupes do you? Once again..subjective..but not in the same mould as our previous hero’s...Stewart, Cevert, Hill, Moss....and more) Only edited because yt likes to interfere with spelling of sentences and the like..however..my Italian name spelling is mine (incorrectly)
Sorry to pee on your parade guys, but both of those cars should have been driven by both of you. Then we could have had a real spread of opinion. It's a bit awkward seeing an older guy about my age drive something we grew up with and not let the youngster have a taste of it. I was young once too and had a taste of something similar to the older GTA, and loved it too. How does it compare , in both your opinions to the new one? Would youngster have been as impressed with the older car as the oldster was? would the older driver have enjoyed the new GTA as much as the youngster did?
In an ideal world, we would have had both Ben and James drive each car. Ben did in fact drive the GTAm for a feature for the mag. However, as always on these kind of shoots, we’re heavily restricted on track time so didn’t have enough minutes in the day to swap the presenters around and get opinions from the opposite cars.
@@shadyyy7490 What's so special about it other than the name? At it's price point it's competing with cars that are far more special and far better performers.
@@supposedly6991 the new cars are unusable and totally lacking in feel. You have to be going so fast to have fun in them. An old car seems like you are going really fast when you aren't. And they can still have beautiful balance and handling.
Old or new? Which Alfa gets your vote?
Either!!!!
They're both.
Old one of course.... They are now worth more than the new GTAs
If I had to choose just one, I'd take the 2021 Guilia GTAm, but it isn't available yet in Australia
105 series

The busso might be the best v6 ever. Fantasmo
That old GTA is just porn
170 bhp in 740kgs car is impressive
For a 1.6 N/A in 1966, it is very impressive!
The engine sound of the old GTA when he puts his foot down... 😍😍😍. Please God, do not take internal combustion engines from us 🙏
Amen to that! It is the work of the devil to take internal combustion engines away, by the way.
I’m in love with both Stelvio 🍀 and GTam with backseat both in that Montreal Green, red interior and green seatbelts❣️
Capolavoro 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
They are amazing cars.... Truly masterpiece. I prefer the old one just because if i can afford it, i can buy the new one aswell
Both very desirable

Ima go ahead and say.. both. I'll take both :)
Old is gold
New giulia gta very bright car

Fair point! We want longer gearing in this and shorter gearing in the Cayman GT4. 🤷🏻♂️
Whoever claims 4-cylinders don't sound good needs to hear this.
Wish Alfa Romeo would offer the Giulia Quadrifolio 🍀 with rear bias All-Wheel Drive!
Coming soon........

Rosso Competizione OF COURSE
I obviously would take the Old one any day..the New one should be a coupe...
Definitely in green. Who is making the dampers?
Great looking car but sorry bro too many doors give me the old school!
👍🏽👍🏽Oo--v--oO
Both please!Take my money!

The GTAm is a special edition. He should have compared it to the regular GTA
I agree, the old 4 cylinder sounds better! Will also choose the classic one any day.
Italian cars in 1966 170hp for a 1.600 cc
American cars in 1966 210hp for a 5.400 cc + shitty time on tracks (that aren't shit ovals)
American cars 0 / 100 km, 2.9 secondi, ma da 100 / 200 km, 10 minuti
More Ben please!

GTA comes with back seats, only the GTAm deletes them. Plus, there’s a regular seatbelt under the harness. James only wore it for the video.
@@CARmagazineTV Thanks for putting that right!
No probs!
Nice video 👍🏻
2 fantastiche auto 🇮🇹👍
🐍🍀❤️
this car is porn, nothing else to say…
Nardo or Balocco?
Both!
I REALLY don't like the gangsta black windows on the new one.
@4:31 he looking for paddel shift to changes gear 😂

Bmw killer
its vic reevs lol
The old!!!! The new one is not as good as it should be.
Always old.
🥃🥃
not the successor actualy, it got 4 doors, so nope.
Bent steering wheel!
Giulia is a nice car that nobody buys, and the GTAm will be bought by collectors, and will never see the street

Too many ads... This is pathetic!
May we recommend RUclips Premium… It removes all the ads!
It's too expensive
It's meant to be a special edition. The regular GTA goes for much less
