You should do something like this with Scott's "Rain" for pianoforte and medium low voice. I would love to hear what it actually sounds like.. Amazing job with this one by the way.
I've been listening to as much Cyril Scott as poss these last weeks and I've come to the conclusion that his talent is for amazing harmonic progressions and that he is at his best when using well known tunes. His own melodic invention is not up his harmonic and textural invention.

Broadly agree, tho the Pastoral Suite & Cavatina are exceptions.

Nice pieces though I find their chromaticism a bit tiring.
Reminds me of certain hipper-than-thou jazz pianists who feel compelled to reharmonize every note.
I agree.
Any fan of Max Reger, such as myself, has no problem at all with an excess of chromaticism.
