This could possibly be my favourite Queen performance
It was / is amazing
White Queen live at The Hammersmith Odeon 1975 is absolutely my favorite Queen performance.
Brian mentioned, that Freddie was playing the piano as a drummer, but like he had a metronome in his head. He was really famous for timing either in singing, playing the piano or performing. Great reaction, thanks.
Interesting!
You should do "Now i'm Here" live @ Wembley... And, for early stuff, "Liar"!!
Noted and thanks for being here - More Queen super soon!
I won't to be a rockstar.
I will be a Legend.
Oh thats good!

Give a look to
Fat Bottomed Girls - Milton keynes 1982
Dragon attack - Montreal 1981
Who wants to leave forever - Wembley 1986
You take my breath away - hyde park 1976
And of course Live Aid 1985
But you can choose as you want in over than 700 gigs of Queen
Love them
And i adore you two
Hugs from Rome guys!!
To me all their early works were the greatest. I've been fan since 74, I love Queen throughout the years, but early was the best.
we are JUST learning!!!!
The song hasn't even started and it's already emotional... The culture! The dedication! Almost too much 😀
Ahhhh.... Bless Freddie!!
Written by Brian May, love how Freddie piano & Brian’s guitar sang together. Suggest “In the Lap of the Gods” & Liar” 74 @the Rainbow 🌈
Noted and thanks. I will check this out. Many thanks for being here and more soon!!
YESSSS YESSSS
I have been listening to this song for years and everytime they play that i just cry so beautiful
A masterpiece by Brian May who is an absolutely amazing guy. I missed Queen completely and after seeing the movie I became obsessed. This is one of my absolute favorites. Try Dragon Attack. Thanks guys.

"Stone Cold Crazy" live at the Rainbow 1974!
Noted and thanks for being here - More Queen super soon!
What a range. Love when he goes low. The piano and guitar battle cannot be surpassed
Not kiddin! Thanks for being here and supporting our channel. More soon!
Agreed. It's astonishing. Early Queen is spine tingling!
Please more Queen. Liar written by Freddie, live 1974 at the Rainbow, is a great one that highlights all of the band members. Thanks.
Will do and thanks!!
Awwwww - “The White Queen walks …. “ IMO one of Brian’s masterpieces written like a Tolkien book. Inspired by Brian’s crush on a girl in his Biology class in University. The loving & longing for her from afar! She must of been something to grab the attention of Dr. Brian May. But alas, he waited too long and lost the courage to approach his White Queen. Hauntingly beautiful 🧝🏻♀️ 🌟⭐️💫✨☀️☀️
Yes Debra… like a Tolkien book! TY
thanks, guys! - this is Brian May's song - and the collaboration between Freddie & Brian on guitar/piano - and Roger's drumming are some of the best - amirite? (oh, and Deacy, of course on the bass!) --
Its amazing - more soon
I was lucky enough to have been at this concert - sitting in the balcony. At one stage I could feel the balcony moving up and down!
My favourite Queen song, and I much prefer this live version to the studio one. Thank you so much for watching it.
Thank you for being here - Moire soon!
When there is a choice Live Queen always supreme !! ( unlike most other bands )
Great reaction! I am glad you guys want to check out more 70's Queen! If there is someone who can wear a cape, it is Freddie. lol You guys can try Father To Son live at the Rainbow 1974, Liar live at the Rainbow 1974, Stone Cold Crazy (officially known as the first thrash metal song) live at the Rainbow 1974. Also Ogre Battle from the Hammersmith Odeon 1975. This show at the Hammersmith Odeon was broadcasted live on BB2 on Christmas Eve, presented by the Old Grey Whistle Test. There was a contest in the Melody Maker magazine and people voted for the best live band, the prize was a live performance on BBC2, it was a great opportunity for an up coming band. Thus this concert is slightly shorter then other Queen concerts. At this stage Bohemian Rhapsody was also no.1 on the charts. So this this was a great time for the band.
The White Queen comes from the album Queen II, it is somewhat of a concept album with a white and black side. The album is full of fantasy and medieval themes.
It is great that you guys have noticed Freddie's piano playing as well, he gets lots of praise for singing and performing, but he was a great musician, piano player and composer as well. Brian May build his own guitar, the delay he is using here is also tape delays that he built himself. It is cool to hear stories from earlier decades.
I would like to see "Liar" as their next 70s reaction. 😍
Noted and thanks for being here - More Queen super soon!
I vote Stone Cold Crazy - goes by like lightning but OH what a STRIKE!
my
my fave album
Freddie in a cape or in a fabulous cat suit darling
One of my favourite songs along with 'In the lap of the Gods'
Also like to add you should do the 79 live killers version of Brighton Rock. Brian's guitar solo is so insane.

Modern times rockn roll.👍
@@TheThamesmen yes, Stone Cold Crazy was concert sort of the first metal of it's kind..
"So sad her eyes
Smiling dark eyes
So sad her eyes
As it began
On such a breathless night as this
Upon my brow the lightest kiss
I walked alone
And all around the air did say
My lady soon will stir this way
In sorrow known
The white queen walks and
The night grows pale
Stars of lovingness in her hair
Needing - unheard
Pleading - one word
So sad my eyes
She cannot see
How did thee fare, what have thee seen
The mother of the willow green
I call her name
And 'neath her window have I stayed
I loved the footsteps that she made
And when she came
White queen how my heart did ache
And dry my lips no word would make
So still I wait
My goddess hear my darkest fear
I speak too late
It's for evermore that I wait
Dear friend goodbye
No tear in my eyes
So sad it ends
As it began."
A story of being too shy to approach someone who you're attracted to.
Cool... many thanks for this.
Tnx much..amazing lyrics...so love this song..and this vid.. perfect performance of freddie..
Thank for the lyrics… wish I’d heard this years ago… such a beautiful haunting sound… my favourite sure…😊
Another few Queen recommendations that usually go under the radar would be Nevermore, All Dead, All Dead and Lily of the Valley, quite short songs so you could do them all in one video
all in one vid..... We'd faint! These vids take ages to create :)
Yes - "All Dead" especially - with Brian's vocals!
Dr Brian May wrote the song, it's about something that happened in his early life, and The Red Special which he built with his dad back in around 1963 from things around their home, he knew how he wanted it too sound, however John Deacon made an Amp which they both used to get the sounds they wanted with just four on stage, and they all played different instruments, they didn't just stick too the ones you associate with them and also Dr Brian May uses an old Sixpence instead of the normal fingers or pic, he worked out a long time ago how he wanted everything sounding
So cool!
This comes from Queen 2, actually my introduction to the band. Heavy beyond believe, you guys must listen to the album. That cape is a Zandra Rhodes design by the way. Anyway Queen 2... side black and side white. White Queen and Black Queen, first one by Brian, second one by Freddie. Bohemnian Rhapsody did not drop out of the air just like that. And this video, the remix is pretty stunning. Such clarity! Especially in the high end, the piano... Those were the days :)
Noted and thanks for being here - More Queen super soon!
Right! I thought I'd heard most of Queens songs, but boy was I wrong! This is one of the greatest hidden gems from Queen and still is! Totally enjoyed your reaction and I will be returning for more reactions. PS. " In the Lap of the Gods " Live at the rainbow 1975 😁
Thanks Deb
Those spectacular white satin costumes were by the very famous, one & only Zandra Rhodes...who Freddie found. Zandra was starting out in the 1970's and went on to design for Princess Di. Freddie was a genius in many ways...song writing, performing, designing, fashion, to name a few... I love their eccentric style on stage & off.
Anything from live at the Rainbow is amazing.
Noted and thanks for being here - More Queen super soon!
Queen 2 , Quite possibly the greatest album ever..
Ogre Battle from the album and Stone Cold Crazy pretty much show off Queen and why they're regarded as introducing speed metal to the world.
Other tracks you should check out if you haven't already,
Dead on time
It's late
My Fairy king and as a later track try Kurgans theme, Freddie even said it was the hardest track he ever sang simply because he's on his raspy vocals throughout the track . 👌
Thanks Simon - Be well
Wow, 🔥 Thankyou Guys for some Queen again 👑 You’re so nice to watch. I love 70’s Queen, their style and music. Whole different than their 80’s stuff. I love their diversity and great legacy. And the fact reactors still checking them out, amazing after so many years. I hope to see more. Keep up the good work. Much bless!!
Our pleasure!
Enjoyed your reaction to my favorite live version of this hauntingly beautiful song! The entire band was superb. For some more early Queen please consider reacting to “In the Lap of the Gods” and “Stone Cold Crazy”, both from live at the Rainbow 1974.
Noted and thanks. I will check this out. Many thanks for being here and more soon!!
Queen is awesome! It would have been wonderful to see them live before Freddie's passing.
I never saw them - Well done!
“capes can get caught in the lift” - love you guys.
So on point - Brian May said that exact same comment, that Freddie was like a metronome on the piano. Perfect. Sustained. I was in college in the late 70s but Queen bypassed me - but thx goodness for the rediscovery. You will have a blast seeing with fresh eyes what you never knew. A BLAST - and I will get a kick out of watching it happen for you.
Cool! Be well and we will have more Queen from this era soon!!!Be well
Awesome reaction!!!!! Love Freddie, Brian, Deaky and Roger! They are all so brilliant! So sad to lose Freddie so soon…he is so missed!!!!
Yes. Wish I had paid more attention at the time
It was a delay. Wonderful reaction!!! Freddie's "wings" on this outfit represented the winged god Mercury. This was just after he changed his name to Mercury.
Yes but back then they had actual tape loop delay - I have used one, where the tape runs, records, loops, plays back the sequence then rerecords over the tape - Its amazing... I did not know about Mercury - That's so cool. Be well
Saw Queen around this era in North Norfolk at Cromer Links Pavilion. Played Hey Big Spender at some point in the gig. They were amazing. Bought every album. Still have all the vinyl. And at last I have heard a band that impresses me as much in Nightwish with Floor Jansen. Thanks RUclips and thanks for the memory guys. Queen and Queen 2 are my favourite albums. All the early stuff had "no synthesisers" on the albums.
Queen in Norfolk!! Now that' a teeshirt!
@@TheThamesmen the Cromer Links and West Runton Pavilion were amazing for groups, from Status Quo, Golden Earring, Sabbath, Purple, Iron Maiden, Saxon, Judas Priest, Blue Oyster Cult to The Damned, Sex Pistols, Clash, Adverts, Sham 69 etc etc Two great venues.
Doesn't get much better than that gentlemen. So much Queen music to explore. Enjoy
Not kidding!!! Be well and more soon. Thanks for being here.
THIS is the version you should have went for. Queen - White Queen (As It Began) (Live at The Rainbow 1974)
I adore this performance of this gorgeous song. Queen fans know this is masterful. Brian said that Freddie was like a metronome too! Great reaction! Try Hyde Park 1976 You Take My Breath Away! Magical! Take it from a Southern belle in the USA.
Especially 70s Queen is ON FIRE! So creative, innovative
It's interesting that you pick up on the timing of Freddie's piano-playing, and in fact describe him as a "metronome" because that is the exact term that Brian May used to describe Freddie's skills, despite the fact that Freddy himself was dismissive of his piano playing skills.
While it's true that Freddie did not possess tthe technical skills of a virtuoso on the piano, his overall brilliance as a musician elevated him tu Maestro level especially for this genre.
As great as Freddie was running around on stage, there is a special magical charm that Freddy conjured when he was just sitting down and playing the piano on song such as e We the champions, Play the Game, it's a hard life, among others
I was listening - It was rock solid!!
My favorite live performance EVER!!! Thank you for reacting to this fabulous performance.
Our pleasure! Be well Sherry - More Queen soon.
YES! More Queen in the 70s! I'd love to see you react to the Seven Seas of Rhye and Stone Cold Crazy at the Rainbow in 74. Absolutely stunning performances.

Just awesome, there are not enough superlatives for Freddie. Early Queen is so different in sound to later Queen but it's all tight! I'd suggest Sheer Heart Attack, which wasn't a single but a live staple, live at the Rainbow is a good version too. You might be interested in listening to the cover by Metallica too, I'll find some links and add them. I've got to hear the Honda van story, you dirty teases, how could you start it then cut it off like that! Another great video, more please!

Thank you for your reactions. Have never heard this song. Queen is so timeless. Please react to a 1986 performance at Wembley. Either "Now I'm Here" and/or "Under Pressure (written with David Bowie)"
Neither had we… we loved it. More soon.
Fire reaction guys, love to watch you both stunned! Now it's time for a banger... Seven seas a rhye live at the Rainbow crazy raw vocals and tight band

Brian May's solo gives me goosebumps! This song is awesome.
Flipping amazing!!!
This song is from Queen 2 which is absolutely up at the top of favourite Queen albums for any hard core fan of the group. Side white is Brian May's songs with one of Rogers. Side black is Freddie's songs. It's exceptional all the way through. Also had their first hit single Seven Seas of Rhye. The concert from Hammersmith is a Christmas concert and you should definitely watch the whole thing. Also Live at the Rainbow 1974 is fantastic. Stone Cold Crazy, In the Lap of the Gods (for Rogers dog whistle backing vocals) Liar, that whole concert is well worth a listen as well. I believe they are both on RUclips. Great reactions, guys!
Noted and thanks for this - More very soon!
how splendid this was... now listen to the studio version ' the march of the black queen'
Will do Carl!
You two are great! FYI. The 30th anniversary of Freddie’s death is coming up on November 24th. It would be a great day to do another Queen reaction. Or two. Recommend Something from 70s plus the last recording he is on which came out after his death: Mother Love. He dragged himself into the studio to record it and had to stop, saying he would return to finish later. He never made it back and Brian May sang the last verse. May said he was stunned that Freddie’s voice was as good as it was at that late point in his illness. Well worth a listen!
RL - That's a great excuse to do more Freddy - Thanks for this! Peace Alex
MORE LIVE QUEEN, PLEASE....
I think ALL Queen fans know: LIVE is (almost always) BETTER (until post-1986 when they stopped performing live). Their BEST STUFF in in their Deep Cuts.
There are basically 3 Queen eras: 1970s Progressive Rock Queen; 1980s Stadium Rock Queen; 1990s Miracle-Innuendo-Made In Heaven era Queen.
Noted and thanks for being here - More Queen super soon!
One of the main reasons I didn't pay much attention to Queen is that when I was starting to take notice of rock music around age 11-12, the radio airwaves seemed to be overrun by "We Are The Champions" and "We Will Rock You"; decent songs, but I wasn't knocked out by those, so I ignored the band basically. I think that was a mistake -- going to have to search for early live recordings!
Exactly what we did. Great to see now though!
If I could make a suggestion, check out "Liar" from 1974 live at the Rainbow - ruclips.net/video/AdWtxjfmKC4/видео.html. It starts with great drums by Roger Taylor, then Brian joins with his guitar and, of course, John on the bass. There are almost 1 1/2 minutes of instruments before Freddie begins singing:
I have sinned, dear Father.
Father, I have sinned.
Won't you help me, Father?
Won't you let me in?
(Liar!) Oh, nobody believes me.
(Liar!) Why don't you leave me alone?.
This is a song where everyone in the band gets the spotlight one time or another. One of my favorite parts of this song is a bass solo by John Deacon.
Noted and thanks for being here - More Queen super soon!
Amen !
An amazing unknown Queen song, what a treat! Really enjoyed this, thanks guys!
Many thanks for being here and more soon!!
Speaking of capes, Rick Wakeman said that if Freddie had classical training he wouldn’t have attempted to do some of the wonderful stuff he did on piano
Interesting view. Thanks
What a gem. Thank you
You're very welcome!
Thank you for reacting to this song beautiful song. Please, you need to react to Innuendo, is one of their best masterpieces. I swear, it's incredible!
Wow why I have never heard this before such a beautiful haunting song… this should have been released a single… even today I think it would be a hit… I think this is my favourite song to date… this will be on my playlist blasting out my car window…AWESOME

Once again, love you guys & your reactions! This live performance from the golden age of Queen, though from the previous "A Night at the Opera" tour, brought back happy memories of when I saw them play this on the following, "A Day at the Races" tour. I saw them at the old Southampton Gaumont Theatre, now The Mayflower, in 1977, at the tender age of 14 (I'm 59 now). Incidentally George, it was my first gig!
Thanks for sharing!! Dam that's a great 1st gig
These guys were together for 20 years..... From the time John Deacon joined them in 1971 until Freddie's early death in November 1991. You have many many many live performances, albums, singles and videos to enjoy. It will take you a long time, but well worth the deep dive into their catalog !!! Enjoy !!

I did not really listen to Queen in the 70’s. Too into Zeppelin, BS, and Floyd I guess After the movie, I started paying attention, but mainly their “hits” and later stuff, as well as Brian May solo work. And discovering over course of the pandemic what a true gent Bri is.

There are many hidden gems in the 70's like Prophet Song (perhaps the first (proto) power metal song), Death on Two Legs, and many more that have already been recommended to you. Great reaction.
About the studio version of White Queen, it's very different with one of the best backing vocals in the Queen catalogue, but in live the band chooses the demo song, the instrumental version is better and Roger is an amazing singer but maybe sings that chorus live it's impossible.

Queen is the best live band of any rock band. Other bands are great live, like zeppelin, but not in the with the entertainment value that Queen brought. Unless you saw Queen live back then you wouldn’t have known how good that song could be. The album version is good but nothing like this live version so it makes sense that people only thought they were what they heard on the radio. Some bands, even with no auto tune were just so much more live.
More Queen soon. Be well.
One of the greatest things I have ever seen live on a stage. The talent and soul ooze out of every pore of every band member in early Queen. Later on... meh, not so much.

Gents, six months ago George asked for a recommendation for a good live version of Kashmir. I didn’t see that you have reacted to it yet. I would recommend, in the highest possible way, the live version from 2007 Celebration Day at the O2. It is my favorite version of my favorite song by my favorite band. I don’t think you’ve reacted to any song from that concert? It is magnificent Robert sounded better doing Kashmir in this than he did in 1979 Knebworth. You will both be blown away. Guarantee it.

Queen of 1973-1978 was.............................. something else! By the way, speaking about Godzilla, there is a band that is called Gojira after the Japanese equivalent.
