I love to hear your reaction to ‘White Queen’ live at the Hammersmith Odeon 1975. That’s one from their early days and it’s sensational to say the least.
Both of those are essential listening, along with: Who Wants To Live Forever - Wembley 86/Budapest 86, Love Of My Life, Rock in Rio 85... All of Rainbow 74, Hammersmith 75, Montreal 81, Wembley and also Budapest 86! Will leave you in no doubt as to how great a live band Queen really were!
Ultimate professionals. Go back & watch carefully. When Freddie turns on the piano bench toward Brian, only 1 note comes out of his guitar. It's obvious that there was supposed to be 1 of his great solos there. Instead you see him unplug his guitar just before the camera cuts to Freddie. Roger immediately starts drumming & Freddie immediately starts toward the front of the stage while he watches Brian go backstage (to the guitar technician). He starts working the audience &, in very short order, he turns to see Brian returning & they just slip right back into it. Freddie has a right to pound the piano. They didn't just hold it together, they killed it!

FANTASTIC REACTION.... What Queen fans know is that their Live Aid set, which is often called the greatest live performance in Rock Music, was Freddie with a throat infection (his Dr. didn't even want him to perform; Freddie said afterwards that his throat felt like shards of glass)! There are SO MANY Queen performances arguably as good as Live Aid... because Queen is the ONLY band who's renowned for being better live than in the studio! This 1981 Montreal concert is one of Queen's best known due to its great HD video; there's ALSO the "Fire At The Bowl" concert at Milton Keynes in 1982 (which is MY FAVORITE... there's a "hard-core" group of Queen fans who love it BEST, for Freddie's insane vocals/energy). For EARLY QUEEN, there are FANTASTIC-quality concert videos at The Rainbow in 1974 and at Odeon Hammersmith in 1975. Later on (post-Live Aid) the 1986 Magic Tour has fantastic concert videos from Wembley Stadium in 1986 (TWO shows, Friday AND Saturday) as well as the "Hungarian Rhapsody" concert in Budapest. DID YOU KNOW THAT FREDDIE ALSO DID OPERA? In 1987, he collaborated with Spanish opera singer Montserrat Caballe to make the Barcelona album... FANTASTIC! In the late 80s, Queen stopped performing live due to Freddie's declining health, but produced some FANTASTIC music videos and my two FAVORITE albums... Innuendo and Made In Heaven. The title track "Innuendo" is called the 1990s sibling to "Bohemian Rhapsody". SUGGESTIONS: "LIAR" LIVE AT THE RAINBOW, 1974 "WHITE QUEEN" LIVE AT ODEON HAMMERSMITH, 1975 "YOU TAKE MY BREATH AWAY" LIVE AT HYDE PARK, 1976 "DRAGON ATTACK" (REPRISE VERSION) LIVE AT MONTREAL, 1981 "FAT BOTTOMED GIRLS" LIVE AT MILTON KEYNES, 1982 "LIVING ON MY OWN" (ORIGINAL 1985 version, NOT 1992 remix!) official music video 20-MINUTE LIVE AID SET (MUST BE ALL IN-ONE-GO TO APPRECIATE IT) "IT'S A HARD LIFE" LIVE AT ROCK IN RIO, 1985 "UNDER PRESSURE" LIVE AT WEMBLEY, 1986 "LOVE OF MY LIFE" LIVE AT either ROCK IN RIO or AT WEMBLEY "BARCELONA" LIVE AT LA NIT "INNUENDO" official music video
Eh… Queen is fantastic, and indeed better live. But they are certainly not the only big band that’s better live. Nightwish is also so much more impressive live for instance.
I LOVE sooo much Queen, this gig was incredibile with Freddie simply out of this world (as usual, is the goat). The crowd was a little cold and Freddie was annoying. This concert was recorded in high quality (were 2 dates mixed in one concert and the organization asked to Freddie to dress the band with the same outfits, but Freddie did as he wanted ahahah). Dragon attack version in Montreal was fantastic. I miss Freddie so much and on 24th of november is 30 years he died. Never ever will born a voice and with stage presence like Freddie. And the whole band, Brian, Roger and John, was simply stratospheric. This version of somebody to love is dazzling, the other version i love is that in 1982 at Milton Keynes bowl. FENOMENO. As italian, i'd like so much if Måneskin play a cover of them. Maybe Another one bites the dust, why not. Ciao Freddie
This is my favorite performance of this song, the whole band totally smashes it. Brian is perfection, John is killing that bassline and Roger doesn't miss a beat while he is singing throughout the entire song. My favorite live Queen performance, actually probably my favorite live performance ever is Queen: White Queen live at Odeon, Hammersmith 1975. You will see Freddie in incredible voice and a 1 minute 45 second instrumental portion with Freddie and Brian absolutely killing it. It is truly mind blowing. Another amazing Freddie live moment is live at Hyde Park, You Take My Breath Away. It is just Freddie and the piano but his vocal control on that performance is outstanding. Of course all live Queen is great but those two will definitely get your juices flowing. Thank you for an excellent reaction to this fantastic performance.
The greatness of Queen can be described in three words... Bang bang boom... Quite a lot of people recognise that. But what a performance. Warts and all...
Please more more live Queen!!!!!!!! Freddie was something else. 👑 I really love Queen’s diversity and musicality. May I suggest Stone Cold Crazy live at the Rainbow or Who wants to live forever live at Budapest. Much bless guys and keep up the good work.
Live nobody today performs like Queen. There are great musicians today but I truly believe auto tune and recorded back ups have set music back. Try Hyde park 1976 You Take My Breath Away. Also watch Queen live in RIO. Their live shows were a revelation. No one has the energy and charisma that Freddie had. On Montreal 1881 check Save Me and DragonAttack!
Saw Queen in 1976, 77 and 78 in Rotterdam, the second time standing on the first row. They were on top of their game: Freds voice was immaculate. What a charisma he had: still remember it well. White Queen (RUclips: live at the Rainbow 1974 is best) was one of my favorites: At the time they were still doing a lot of songs from the early seventies. Somebody To Love was a sort of encore/ last song I believe, one of the many highlights. So thank you very much for this one.
The drummer is Roger Taylor and yes , he regularly hit high notes but nothing like he does on My Fairy King , which I'd highly recommend 😁👌 , especially as all early Queen is just out of this world .. More live reactions... Dragon Attack Under Pressure You take my breath away
Awwwww Somebody To Love is my favorite Queen song! Written by the great Freddie Mercury inspired by Aretha Franklin! Queen is one of the best artists of all time & their music catalog is nothing short of brilliant! Same song live in Milton Keynes 1982 (my fav concert) plus FAT BOTTOMED GIRLS & PLAY THE GAME! Oh and UNDER PRESSURE & ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST live at Wembley 1986. Umm do them 👉 all 👈
After discovering all the clips on youtube of their live performances I tend to lean toward the lives over the studio versions. There's a vibrancy and electricity in all of their live performances.
Chaps, love your intro! Also love the reaction to one of the best live acts ever! As phenomenal as Freddie was as a lead singer, big dues to Roger doing magnificent backing vocals and John and Brian for their brilliant guitar playing. No better musical unit……….ever!!!
You can't watch Queen live without smiling. You just can't! They are truly amazing live. Wembley 1986. Montreal 1981. Milton Keynes bowl 1982. The Rainbow 1974. Pick one, any one, they are all fantastic.
Isn't Freddie wonderful! Isn't Queen wonderful? Roger, John. Brian and Freddie, genius musicians and such a together Band ... put on a show!!! Thanks for this.
Interesting to note. In the commentary for this concert video, Brian and Roger mention that Freddie had to work the crowd extra hard because security was telling people to stay in their seats. Plus, Freddie was pissed at the camera crew as they kept getting in his way.
@@TheThamesmen this is Roger's cameo on the 1975 album Tails of Illusion by Fox. The song is Survivor and our Rog is the one singing literally higher and higher and.... ruclips.net/video/EunYGYNkUFg/видео.html
Just a side note: Dimash is the real deal. The man who has a range of 8 octaves and does the highest whistle tone without any effort. Best singer in the world today, without any doubt.
Freddie owned every stage he appeared on. Queen are the absolute best live rock band best rock band period. Now you know why Freddie stole Live Aid. Queen stole it.
Please, please more Queen - Many of their less well known songs are amazing! You will love White Queen, live 1975 Hammersmith, In the Lap of the Gods, live at the Rainbow.
It was so fun to see the clip of Brian playing with Roger recently on Rogers solo tour. I am SO HAPPY that Brian has recovered from his heart attack last spring and now has the energy to perform again!
Saw Queen early in their career before Bohemian Rhapsody and was blown away. The only band in the last few years that come close is Nightwish with Floor. Glad you mentioned them.
Evidently your October surprise...for yourselves! Freddie was in peak form at Montreal - gift wrapped with a giant bow. Some fans vie for the Milton Keynes version - delivered with such fire and intensity he is just possessed. So lovely to see that appreciation and pure joy. Yes, jump back in time to STONE COLD CRAZY gosh they snap. There are lots of stadium Queen crowd pleasers - WHO WANTS TO LIVE FOREVER Live in Budapest and lots of Wembly giants. But oh those glorious Queen ballad gems, like SAVE ME (Montreal again). When you hear the arc of their foray into just about every genre possible, you can't help but marvel at their appetite to have and do it all!
Summer 1985 I was a young man, no job, and had just lost my apartment, so I set myself up in a cave in the forest a mile out of town. True story! I went into town to see some friends and we all watched Live Aid from beginning to end, and the unanimous consensus was that Queen won the day by a wide margin, which is very impressive considering the lineup for that event. Great performance. I returned to my cave. I had a great setup, looking back it was a great summer 🍻
Let's see Justin Bieber do that. As Roger (drummer) has said "You'd think we practiced" Queen live...perfection. Granted there are some of their videos that are fun and really worth watching....you can't beat Freddie when he's playing his favorite instrument. The audience. Also somewhere Superman is wearing a Freddie Mercury t-shirt. People voted for it because it's the best live performance in life ever. And I've seen MANY in my 61 years.
SO much awesome live footage from every decade! White Queen at Hammersmith Odeon, Liar at the Rainbow, Stone Cold Crazy, Seven Seas of Rhye, In The Lap of the Gods Revisited...same concert. Who Wants To Live Forever, live in Budapest or Wembley, Fat Bottomed Girls at the Bowl (for a little pole dancing Freddie 😉🔥). One Vision at Wembley...really anything from Wembley. Save Me from Montreal for perfection vocals. You Take My Breath Away from Hyde Park.
Queen is great, live Queen is AMAZING! Now I'm Here from Leiden or Wembley, White Queen from the Rainbow or Odeon, Save Me from Montreal and Bohemian Rhapsody from the same show (Bohemian Rhapsody live is amazing), Under Pressure live, Who Wants to Live Forever....and lets not forget I'm In Love With My Car from Montreal!
This song is bitter-sweet for me. This makes me smile and happy every time but also deep in my soul in weeping for the loss... why oh why is music not like this anymore? Yes, I'm showing my age lol
If you want to See early Queen I highly recommend The whole Live At The Rainbow 1974 Album. Liar, in the lap of the gods(not the revisited one) and now im here. Ogre Battle, Father To son and many more are great too But that for now
You two are priceless, so I just had to join. So pleased to hear you acknowledge the brilliance of the band. Freddie alone couldn't have created the magic of Queen. It took all four extraordinary men to accomplish this. Do you notice that Queen does not follow the traditional rock band platform? What they do is theatre. Each and every piece of theirs is honed to theatrical quality. The following are good examples of their art. In Liar, you can see each member of the band take center stage to show exactly what it is they contribute to the Queen sound. Liar - ruclips.net/video/N617biWexk0/видео.html White Queen is ( reminiscent of Olde England, at least to me ) theatre from start to finish. In this one, Freddie and Brian are featured, and they'll take you on a trip you'll remember a long time. On first listen they'll take up all the oxygen in the room, but upon subsequent listens you'll hear the subtle background of bass and drum that give the structure and mood to the piece. ( an aside: Rolling Stone Magazine once called Roger and John the " sonic volcano " of Queen. ) White Queen - ruclips.net/video/5H3gW5tYoNI/видео.html
Enlightened by my oldest sister in 1977 with the album A Day at the Races. You can never go wrong with Queen. I can always rely on Queen no matter what I am going through in this sometimes crazy world. Another outstanding reaction/analysis George and Alex. Stay safe and be well!
Excelente reacción!! Queen en lo personal fue la mejor banda dentro del Rock, grandes músicos, grandes letristas, grandes vocalistas y la lista sigue. Gracias y saludos desde Uruguay 🇺🇾
Other fantastic live performances: For a total contrast, check out the pared-back version of You Take My Breath Away, Live at Hyde Park, 1976) - 100% magical performance; Or tear-your-heart-out with Freddie and Co in White Queen, Live at Hammersmith Odeon...and see Freddie and Brian duelling it out in an incredible piano/guitar duet...
Also to add to the conversation on Bands absolutely fantastic live, Band Maid out of Japan should definitely be considered!!! I am new to your channel therefore I have no idea whether or not you ha e been introduced to those fantastic ladies. If you haven't, I would recommend Domination, Play, Dice and many other songs of theirs live!! And their studio versions are great, they're just so much more to behold live!!! 😉
I think the biggest misconception of Queen is that the live aid performance was a one off of excellence from the band. Many don’t realize that’s the way they/he always was, from the beginning….and as a front man Freddie had IT. BoRap from this show is excellent. ETA: early small venue shows, check out various shows at the rainbow or Hammersmith. Freaking full on sound in a 3000 theater. People were likely dead for days. I know I was when I went to rock shows. Lol
Not a Queen fan but I have huge respect for them as a band. The 1979 concert in the Hammersmith Odeon is arguably on of the greatest setlists ever performed live. Would hardly be surprised if one of you two *ankers were there☺.
Odeon 75 + Rainbow 74 are good quality recordings for the footage and reasonable sized venues. Most of Freddie's drinks were not alcohol based, some that looked like it were honey based.
hey, "kids" - I'm old, too - had the privilege to see Queen three times in US midwest - when I was 16, 18, & 20... I will never forget... I hope you go with the recommendation from "Twizzler"... White Queen at Hammersmith... astonishing... I really appreciate the appreciations of others when it comes to queen... look forward to more of your reactions... (okay, die-hard Queen fan, but not ONLY a Queen fan.. be interested in listening to other bands/reactions...)
Woaw I subs, I like you both alout. I have been a big Queen-fan since -77. If you whant to see them from the start that I now of it must bee The Rainbow -74, Odeon Hammersmith 12.24.75, Hyde park -76omg it so much. Some songs Bohemian Rhapsody from Montreal -81, Draggon Attac from same consert. Who whants to live forever Wembley 07.11.86, Live Aid 07.13.85 you can only take a song, its never go wrong with Queen. Dont Stop Me Now official video, A winters tale, I’m going sligthly mad from february -91, This are the days of our lives may 30.91 the last video 😢 The Prophet song, the lyric one. Brian Mays Masterpiece, Mother love, the absolut last song he was singing. He was so sick, Brian had to sing the last of it, The show must go on, Cool cat, Anotherone bites the dust, Under pressure, I whant to break free, Love of my life, from Rio. Enjoy so much guys 👑🎤🎹🥁🪕🎸🇳🇴
Great reaction! You guys should definitely check out more live Queen, they were often better live then in the studio. Roger does the high note on Bohemian Rhapsody which was an Bb5, but the highest note on a Queen album was E6, done by Freddie. Check out The White Queen - Queen live at the Hammersmith Odeon 1975 or Now I am Here - Queen live at Wembley 1986. From the early days you can check out anything from Queen live at the Rainbow 1974, but a good one is Father To Son live at the Rainbow 1974.
@@TheThamesmen The Rainbow Theatre was a very popular venue in London, it is a small theatre which held about 2000 - 3000 people, a lot of iconic shows where done there in the early 70's. One of the most famous shows held there was David Bowie with his Ziggy Stardust show. It was the last time he performed as Ziggy Stardust. Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Genesis and The Who performed at this venue, this is also the venue where Frank Zappa was injured when he fell off the stage. Basically all of the biggest British bands performed at this venue at some point, it is a very iconic venue. Queen is obviously another famous show at The Rainbow, this was before the release of Bohemian Rhapsody. So it was quite early days, but the video and sound quality is very good, it was released by Queen on Blu-ray.
15:58 "early day in a small club" - you should try "White Queen (live at the Hammersmith 1975) -> ruclips.net/video/f8usNj4x9NA/видео.html There are actually lots of great early day performances from Queen on youtube like the Rainbow 1974 gigs or Hammersmith 1975 gig.
Amazing reaction! Here are my suggestions/personal preferences regarding the best lives - arranged by decade, as you mentioned being interested in early ones too!: 70s Concerts: 1) Stone Cold Crazy Live at the Rainbow, 1974 (So short but amazing! Metallica later covered this song and won a Grammy; they performed it at his tribute concert as well. One of the first speed metal songs before the term existed. There's an even faster version live from Houston in 1977, but the recording quality isn't as good.) 2) In the Lap of the Gods Revisited live at the Hammersmith Odeon, 1975 as well as In the Lap of the Gods (a completely different song; they bookended an album) live at the Rainbow in 1974. ROGER'S SUPER HIGH VOICE is incredibly showcased in the second one! Note that the first track isn't listed as Revisited on RUclips, but it should be. 3) White Queen, live at the Hammersmith Odeon, 1975 (STUNNING, and really showcases the band's musicianship with a huge instrumental section in the middle) 4) You Take My Breath Away, live at Hyde Park, 1976 (Freddie performed it here before the album and song had even been released, so it was completely new for the audience - he tells them to "listen to this one" and essentially to be quiet, haha! It's just him and the piano.) 80s Concerts: 1) Well, anything from this Montreal 1981 concert (plus the recording quality was stellar): Save Me, Bohemian Rhapsody, Love of My Life, Play the Game, Dragon Attack, and the duo of We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions are the standouts (but literally ANY song from this show is perfection) 2) Love of My Life, live at Wembley, 1986 (note that this and many of the below suggestions are from their most infamous performance from their most infamous tour - the Magic 1986 tour - but also their last tour, as Freddie was diagnosed a few months after returning home. He was getting more tired during his shows and more frequent colds, which is what alerted him that something might be wrong, but you'd never know from his performances except for some vocal strain on occasion. Just an fyi that his voice wasn't always at his best in 1986, but he also somehow managed to still give some of his best vocal performances.) 3) Who Wants to Live Forever (we have only three versions of this on video, since Freddie was never able to tour again and perform it: two from both nights at Wembley and one from Budapest. My favorite is Budapest, but you can't go wrong!) 4) Under Pressure, live at Wembley 1986 (David Bowie might not be there to complete the collaboration, but I like this better than the original! Plus, it has Freddie's iconic 2.5-minute call and response at the beginning). 5) It's a Kind of Magic, live at Wembley, 1986 (it really was an amazing concert) 6) Fat Bottomed Girls, live at the Bowl, 1982 (Freddie outdoes himself in this one, haha! Amazing energy and some... pole dancing) 7) Somebody to Love, live in Milton Keynes, 1982 (some people even prefer this version to the Montreal version - Freddie's a bit more relaxed and the audience is more wild; this particular audience in Montreal annoyed the whole band because the filming crew kept directing them to be quiet for the recording quality, which obviously doesn't suit Queen's performance style!) 8) Dragon Attack, live in Milton Keynes, 1982 (this whole show had stellar energy) I'm sure I'm missing ones others than help add, but I think it's long enough, hahaha. Freddie also has later "live" performances from an opera collaboration he did with Spanish opera singer Montserrat Caballe (they recorded a whole album) - however, he was really too (secretly) ill to perform live at that point. The songs and performances are GORGEOUS, though. Check out "Barcelona" and "The Golden Boy".
Totally agree with all your suggestions Lauren 🥰. and … Action this day live at Milton Keynes Bowl 1982 😘 Hammersmith Odeon 1975 (saw them on this tour in Southampton, then again in 1977), Montreal 1981, Milton Keynes Bowl 1982, Wembley 1986 all fantastic concerts, oh, and Live at The Rainbow1974 😉. ❤️Freddie❤️
Spot on - Dragon Attack at both Montreal and Milton Keynes is Freddie at his Alpha Best. We agree on WWTLF at Budapest - dramatic staging moment in my book.
The greatest live band of all time.
Muse, Led Zep and others run them close.
Led Zep, Pink Floyd, Rush INXS…..Can we just say they are in the top 5?
They are the greatest tight live bands of all time. The live jam band, the Grateful Dead, bring something entirely different, but also entirely great.

Also watch Queen live in RIO. Their live shows were a revelation. No one has the energy and charisma that Freddie had. On Montreal 1881 check Save Me and DragonAttack!
No one can touch the talent of Queen ❤️❤️❤️❤️
We are not sure why we did not cover them sooner. Hopefully we can do more soon.
Queen is never blocked.
Great reaction guys, love Queen.. One of my fav from Queen Live is Seven seas a rhye live at the rainbow.. Queen in Full Flight
thanks Marcel. Be well
Freddie's hands a-blur on the piano keyboard....
The one where he does "the swoop"?
Saw Queen in 1976, 77 and 78 in Rotterdam, the second time standing on the first row. They were on top of their game: Freds voice was immaculate. What a charisma he had: still remember it well. White Queen (RUclips: live at the Rainbow 1974 is best) was one of my favorites: At the time they were still doing a lot of songs from the early seventies. Somebody To Love was a sort of encore/ last song I believe, one of the many highlights. So thank you very much for this one.
God I would have loved that!
I meant to add either of those two White Queen performances to my 'essential' list...
Wow!! You are so lucky 🍀
Freddie ❤
yep. Freddie
I was lucky enough to see Queen about a dozens times, from the the early 1970s to the last Wembley concert. They were always amazing…
You're lucky!!!
The drummer is Roger Taylor and yes , he regularly hit high notes but nothing like he does on My Fairy King , which I'd highly recommend 😁👌 , especially as all early Queen is just out of this world ..
More live reactions...
Dragon Attack
Under Pressure
You take my breath away
Awwwww Somebody To Love is my favorite Queen song! Written by the great Freddie Mercury inspired by Aretha Franklin! Queen is one of the best artists of all time & their music catalog is nothing short of brilliant! Same song live in Milton Keynes 1982 (my fav concert) plus FAT BOTTOMED GIRLS & PLAY THE GAME! Oh and UNDER PRESSURE & ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST live at Wembley 1986. Umm do them 👉 all 👈
More coming super sooN!
They all brought extraordinary talent. Probably explains why they were so amazing
You can't watch Queen live without smiling. You just can't! They are truly amazing live. Wembley 1986. Montreal 1981. Milton Keynes bowl 1982. The Rainbow 1974. Pick one, any one, they are all fantastic.
Thanks for supporting us and visiting our little channel!!
Isn't Freddie wonderful! Isn't Queen wonderful? Roger, John. Brian and Freddie, genius musicians and such a together Band ... put on a show!!! Thanks for this.
Just an all round amazing package. Particularly it turns out the early years
Interesting to note. In the commentary for this concert video, Brian and Roger mention that Freddie had to work the crowd extra hard because security was telling people to stay in their seats. Plus, Freddie was pissed at the camera crew as they kept getting in his way.
Freddie king of rock 🤘 please queen live aid 85 reaction please
Noted. Be well.
HAVE YOU EVER ???? Can’t breathe after this magnificence !!!! ( shoutout to Roger )
Love of my life Rio or São Paulo live.
Queen's highest recorded note is C7 and belongs to Freddie, he sang it on "It’s Late" (Maida Vale 4 Studio version)
Also Roger contributed to another album by a different band in 75 in which he sings even higher than anything he did for Queen!
Ah
I did read he had the highest note somewhere
A spectacular live performance
Please, please more Queen - Many of their less well known songs are amazing! You will love White Queen, live 1975 Hammersmith, In the Lap of the Gods, live at the Rainbow.
It was so fun to see the clip of Brian playing with Roger recently on Rogers solo tour. I am SO HAPPY that Brian has recovered from his heart attack last spring and now has the energy to perform again!
Saw Queen early in their career before Bohemian Rhapsody and was blown away. The only band in the last few years that come close is Nightwish with Floor. Glad you mentioned them.
Yep.....Truth!
Queen = Subscribers. Guaranteed!
We loved Queen
How could you have never heard this ?
Heard this yes. Seen that video nope!
@@TheThamesmen forgive me guys I came onto the video thinking it was the studio version
Great reaction by the way tell you really enjoyed it Freddie was one of a kind and will be missed
Is missed lol
@@aimeepollock1579 Was is and will be missed
The greatest showman in history. A true legend
Pure charisma and talent. A rare treat
Queen is perfection. Check out White Queen at Hammersmith, fantastic. Great reaction.
Thanks
React to some older performances, for example to Liar or In The Lap Of The Gods , Odeon London, please. Love Queen, they were voted the best live band
Noted and thanks!
White Queen ( always live with Queen )
Love the glasses. Make you look like Bricktop from Snatch.
Ha ha... I loved Bricktop!! Thanks
I would say best summer ever! I’m so jealous!! 😁
It gives you an unbelievable feeling to see high school kids singing this song in a chorus.
Noted and thanks. I will check this out. Many thanks for being here and more soon!!
Really is truly amazing. What a band
Shhhh (White Queen done and being edited but that[s between us)
Timeless Beloved Freddie
So glad we took time to watch that one
Queen is great, live Queen is AMAZING! Now I'm Here from Leiden or Wembley, White Queen from the Rainbow or Odeon, Save Me from Montreal and Bohemian Rhapsody from the same show (Bohemian Rhapsody live is amazing), Under Pressure live, Who Wants to Live Forever....and lets not forget I'm In Love With My Car from Montreal!
My favorite album of all time is a Night at the opera. so eclectic
This song is bitter-sweet for me. This makes me smile and happy every time but also deep in my soul in weeping for the loss... why oh why is music not like this anymore? Yes, I'm showing my age lol
Know what you mean but we keep looking and there are some definite gems out there!
My favorite 4 minutes ……… ever !!! Thank you ♥️
You are so welcome!
If you want to See early Queen I highly recommend The whole Live At The Rainbow 1974 Album. Liar, in the lap of the gods(not the revisited one) and now im here. Ogre Battle, Father To son and many more are great too But that for now
thanks Lord. Thanks for supporting our little channel and being here.
Liar - ruclips.net/video/N617biWexk0/видео.html
White Queen is ( reminiscent of Olde England, at least to me ) theatre from start to finish. In this one, Freddie and Brian are featured, and they'll take you on a trip you'll remember a long time. On first listen they'll take up all the oxygen in the room, but upon subsequent listens you'll hear the subtle background of bass and drum that give the structure and mood to the piece. ( an aside: Rolling Stone Magazine once called Roger and John the " sonic volcano " of Queen. )
White Queen - ruclips.net/video/5H3gW5tYoNI/видео.html
Enlightened by my oldest sister in 1977 with the album A Day at the Races. You can never go wrong with Queen. I can always rely on Queen no matter what I am going through in this sometimes crazy world. Another outstanding reaction/analysis George and Alex. Stay safe and be well!
Thanks for listening and be well, as always thanks for being here and supporting us!!
Excelente reacción!!
Queen en lo personal fue la mejor banda dentro del Rock, grandes músicos, grandes letristas, grandes vocalistas y la lista sigue.
Gracias y saludos desde Uruguay 🇺🇾
Hello.
Other fantastic live performances:
For a total contrast, check out the pared-back version of You Take My Breath Away, Live at Hyde Park, 1976) -
100% magical performance;
Or tear-your-heart-out with Freddie and Co in White Queen, Live at Hammersmith Odeon...and see Freddie and Brian duelling it out in an incredible piano/guitar duet...
Fantastic once again gentlemen!!!! Thank you for the entertainment!!! 😉❤✌🏼
Welcome and thanks for being here. Hopefully you saw the Band-Maid video we just released?
Bloody brilliant!
Yep sure is
Thank you for nice reaction! Stay healthy!
And you. More Queen this week.
I love Queen and i love it that you give us a reaction video for them as well. I will watch every video you will make on them. ;-)
Awesome thank you! More soon!
Lol
You mean Deaf for days!!! :) I hope
@@TheThamesmen lol yes!!!
Not a Queen fan but I have huge respect for them as a band. The 1979 concert in the Hammersmith Odeon is arguably on of the greatest setlists ever performed live.
Would hardly be surprised if one of you two *ankers were there☺.
Ha ha :) alas not
Hammy is so damn good.
Odeon 75 + Rainbow 74 are good quality recordings for the footage and reasonable sized venues.
Most of Freddie's drinks were not alcohol based, some that looked like it were honey based.
PLEASE DO MORE QUEEN! I LOVE YOU GUYS!
Yes!!! We need to.
hey, "kids" - I'm old, too - had the privilege to see Queen three times in US midwest - when I was 16, 18, & 20...
Thanks for being here an checking the vid out. Be well. G&A
White queen live at the Odeon 75
Noted. Will check. Thanks.
Great reaction, thanks.
Thank you too!
according to Perter hence Freddie roadie said Freddie & the queen rehearsed til they were satisfied with the way they wanted to perform
before touring
You can tell. It’s on point.
True 👍True...Freddie Doing
"BARCELONA " With Montserrat Caballe, his dream of doing Opera
Come True Please!
Oh that might be interesting. Thanks for the idea
Love yur reaction to freddie and Queen. Pls react to them at live aid. It will literally blow u away
It did.
❤❤❤
Great reaction! You guys should definitely check out more live Queen, they were often better live then in the studio. Roger does the high note on Bohemian Rhapsody which was an Bb5, but the highest note on a Queen album was E6, done by Freddie. Check out The White Queen - Queen live at the Hammersmith Odeon 1975 or Now I am Here - Queen live at Wembley 1986. From the early days you can check out anything from Queen live at the Rainbow 1974, but a good one is Father To Son live at the Rainbow 1974.
By any chance is that the rainbow on Sunset strip in Los Angeles? I do hope so as that is a really cool little place that I, George, still go to
@@TheThamesmen The Rainbow Theatre was a very popular venue in London, it is a small theatre which held about 2000 - 3000 people, a lot of iconic shows where done there in the early 70's. So it was quite early days, but the video and sound quality is very good, it was released by Queen on Blu-ray.
there is in montral full concert vieo
Wow 🥰 loved your reaction liked already subscribed 😁 more queen reactions please 😍❤️ Freddie Mercury ❤️
Thank you! Will do!
@@TheThamesmen great 🥰 can't wait 😻

You asked for early live Queen? WHITE QUEEN live at The Odeon 1975!!!!!! Such a JAM!!!

15:58 "early day in a small club" - you should try "White Queen (live at the Hammersmith 1975) -> ruclips.net/video/f8usNj4x9NA/видео.html
There are actually lots of great early day performances from Queen on youtube like the Rainbow 1974 gigs or Hammersmith 1975 gig.

@@TheThamesmen Saw them in 81 in New Haven CT. Billy Squire opened for them. I can now die peacefully..😂😂
Please listen to ‘I’m in love with my car’ live. That will show Rogers singing and drumming skills
Amazing reaction! Here are my suggestions/personal preferences regarding the best lives - arranged by decade, as you mentioned being interested in early ones too!:
70s Concerts:
1) Stone Cold Crazy Live at the Rainbow, 1974 (So short but amazing! Metallica later covered this song and won a Grammy; they performed it at his tribute concert as well. One of the first speed metal songs before the term existed. There's an even faster version live from Houston in 1977, but the recording quality isn't as good.)
2) In the Lap of the Gods Revisited live at the Hammersmith Odeon, 1975 as well as In the Lap of the Gods (a completely different song; they bookended an album) live at the Rainbow in 1974. ROGER'S SUPER HIGH VOICE is incredibly showcased in the second one! Note that the first track isn't listed as Revisited on RUclips, but it should be.
3) White Queen, live at the Hammersmith Odeon, 1975 (STUNNING, and really showcases the band's musicianship with a huge instrumental section in the middle)
4) You Take My Breath Away, live at Hyde Park, 1976 (Freddie performed it here before the album and song had even been released, so it was completely new for the audience - he tells them to "listen to this one" and essentially to be quiet, haha! It's just him and the piano.)
80s Concerts:
1) Well, anything from this Montreal 1981 concert (plus the recording quality was stellar): Save Me, Bohemian Rhapsody, Love of My Life, Play the Game, Dragon Attack, and the duo of We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions are the standouts (but literally ANY song from this show is perfection)
2) Love of My Life, live at Wembley, 1986 (note that this and many of the below suggestions are from their most infamous performance from their most infamous tour - the Magic 1986 tour - but also their last tour, as Freddie was diagnosed a few months after returning home. He was getting more tired during his shows and more frequent colds, which is what alerted him that something might be wrong, but you'd never know from his performances except for some vocal strain on occasion. Just an fyi that his voice wasn't always at his best in 1986, but he also somehow managed to still give some of his best vocal performances.)
3) Who Wants to Live Forever (we have only three versions of this on video, since Freddie was never able to tour again and perform it: two from both nights at Wembley and one from Budapest. My favorite is Budapest, but you can't go wrong!)
4) Under Pressure, live at Wembley 1986 (David Bowie might not be there to complete the collaboration, but I like this better than the original! Plus, it has Freddie's iconic 2.5-minute call and response at the beginning).
5) It's a Kind of Magic, live at Wembley, 1986 (it really was an amazing concert)
6) Fat Bottomed Girls, live at the Bowl, 1982 (Freddie outdoes himself in this one, haha! Amazing energy and some... pole dancing)
7) Somebody to Love, live in Milton Keynes, 1982 (some people even prefer this version to the Montreal version - Freddie's a bit more relaxed and the audience is more wild; this particular audience in Montreal annoyed the whole band because the filming crew kept directing them to be quiet for the recording quality, which obviously doesn't suit Queen's performance style!)
8) Dragon Attack, live in Milton Keynes, 1982 (this whole show had stellar energy)
I'm sure I'm missing ones others than help add, but I think it's long enough, hahaha.
Wow - Thanks for all this - This is GREAT. Be well
Totally agree with all your suggestions Lauren 🥰. and … Action this day live at Milton Keynes Bowl 1982 😘 Hammersmith Odeon 1975 (saw them on this tour in Southampton, then again in 1977), Montreal 1981, Milton Keynes Bowl 1982, Wembley 1986 all fantastic concerts, oh, and Live at The Rainbow1974 😉.
❤️Freddie❤️
Spot on - Dragon Attack at both Montreal and Milton Keynes is Freddie at his Alpha Best. We agree on WWTLF at Budapest - dramatic staging moment in my book.
@@chrissielord434 YESSSS - ACTION THIS DAY ❤️🔥❤️🔥
