I’m pretty sure they’d have evolved into a jam band - the rock equivalent of a string quartet - had Freddie survived. They just had that kind of chemistry.
Thank you for that reaction..believe it or not a huge amount of people adore this song....Queen were geniuses...much more than a rock band...a genre all on their own🤩
I love that you did this. When I first heard this I was struck by Freddie’s voice how pure and true it was. The song has such an atmosphere about it like it’s some kind of medieval tale of Knights and their ladies. To think this is live is astounding. This is better than the recording. Imagine sitting in that audience and having this performance going on. The music is mystical. It’s like it weaves a spell. You don’t want it to end. Thank you for doing this.
Give guitarist Brian May his due. Man is a PHD astrophysicist... Queen always had that Freddy theatricality, but they came up as a pretty hard rocking outfit...
This is my favorite Queen live performance. The duo of the piano and guitar was astounding. The drumming is so effect as well. I really love how affected you are by good music. Your sincerity is appreciated.
Yes it’s sensational ❤️🔥 It’s one of my top 5 Queen songs and only Queen/ Freddie fans know how difficult it is to choose 5. When I’m in a certain mood White Queen brings tears to my eyes. Goosebumps of course. A band one never gets ‘ used to ‘ GOAT ✌🏼♥️
Your question: “Did he sing every song like this???” Answer: “Yes, and then some.” Freddie poured his heart and soul into every single performance. He wanted the people in the audience to get good value for the price of the ticket; he wanted the concert experience to be somewhat different than listening to their recordings. But I think it was more than that-Freddie was a true artist and always performed each song by expressing the particular emotion behind each song as he sang. It sounds like something obvious and easy and her few performers actually do it. Probably cuz it’s exhausting and hard to conjure that emotion the 1000th time you have sung that song. But Freddie always brought it. I, for one, am very thankful that I was alive at a time to have witnessed his genius! Thanks for doing this reaction!
This performance is one of my favorites and really showcases how pure Freddie’s voice is! One reason why I am such a Queen fan is that they were the same or even better live. At some point please react to their Live Aid set where they totally stole the show. Freddie’s voice is so powerful in that set and he gives a master class in performance and crowd control!
What a fantastic concert this was and I was so lucky to see this at the time brought my ticket for £2.50 back in 1975 and was presented by the The great Bob Harris whistle Test. What a band what a voice never to be beaten best frontman of a band ever in my opinion FREDDIE Such a sad loss to the music industry keep listening to more of his tracks including his time with duo partner opera singer Montsaratt Caballè Barcelona' & 'How can I go on' Shows what an epic voice he had RIP FREDDIE 🙏❤
Thank you for another Queen reaction! Any time someone tries to tell me Queen is over-hyped and over-rated I think of this song. The instrumental section is just as emotional as the vocal and that's really saying something. This band had the vocals, the songwriting, and the musicianship. Their passion and hard work make them timeless.
I agree!!!! Their works are music Art,have high quality on records and live also because of their talent, musicianship, perfection!!!!! THEY have high energy and passion!!!! Their music flows in the Air!!!Nobody can reproduce their artistry!!!!!😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
I had the honor of seeing Freddie Mercury and Queen live 3 times and just after the 4th album release. I can confirm that Freddie is THIS awesome live. The first time I saw them live, I was in the front row and I remember closing my eyes and it felt like I was listening to their recording. Frigging amazing! He totally controlled the entire crowd. Oh and you need to react to ANY of their songs from the album Sheer Heart Attack. It shows the diversity of what is and always will be Queen!
Yes - love the larger screen. Sometime soon you might like to check out: You Take My Breath Away - Live at Hyde Park, 1976 Another incredible live performance, this time just Freddie alone on piano, shushing a rowdy crowd at a free concert in the park with a tale of sensual, obsessive love. 2 minutes + of pure magic.
This performance if one of my favourites. Pls, check out another hidden gem called You Take My Breath Away at Hyde Park 76, just Freddie and the piano.
I see you reacted to "Somebody to love " video, but you Have to react to it live. Somebody to love. Live at Montreal 1981. And live at Milton Keynes 1982 are both great performances. Their live performances are the best. They never disappoint
Great reaction! Now you know how Queen has such an enormous and loyal fan base. There are so many outstanding live performances. This one happens to one of my all time favorites. The live performances are very different from the studio version and many live performances are very different from other live performances, so there many versions to love. For a very different song please consider Stone Cold Crazy, live at the Rainbow 1974.
I hear you,Sal. Freddie had utter control of his voice…and such nimbleness and his pitch placement was perfect. This is very complex melodically and he handles it was ease, confidence and aplomb. A master at work. Saying Freddie is “good” is a huge understatement. He is, perhaps, the best pop rock voice ever. Certainly many consider him so. Not hard rock….but that wasn’t Queen’s genre anyway
OF COURSE, Freddie could do and DID do "hard rock". Wueen has plenty of hard and metal Songs. Not the top 40 usual suspects, of course. You"ll have to really dig into their Repertoire.

Freddie was not only a great musician, vocalist, and front man, but an inspired composer and lyricist as well. The performance, with an outdoor audience of over 100,000, is beautifully performed
I’m sooo happy with your great reaction and appreciation of this magical performance! In my view, no one comes close to Queen. Each member’s contribution is essential for the total Queen sound and each one of them have written number 1 hits! Keep up the good work - your reactions are ace!
Awesome reaction! Now you should check out Father To Son - Queen live at the Rainbow 1974, it is another amazing song and performance. Basically the whole Queen live at the Rainbow 1974 is amazing.
It was written by Brian for his previous band “Smile” in 1968, several years before the band “Queen” would be created in 1970. Queen's catalog of music is wide and varied. It includes soft rock, hard rock, progressive rock, thrash rock, area rock, rockabilly, R&B, blues, gospel, disco, jazz, folk, ragtime, opera, ballads, British music hall tunes, etc, and songs combining any number of these genders (i.e "T.he March of the Black Queen" - ruclips.net/video/SoBMhx_ap_g/видео.html which is too complex to ever perform live) One of my favorite of Queen's early songs is called "Liar" - ruclips.net/video/FK9YSri2xNQ/видео.html. Also, I love this medley of 3 songs "In The Lap of The Gods - Revisited", "Seven Seas of Rhye", and "Tear It Up" - ruclips.net/video/sb-uUzLu3Wc/видео.html
Thanks Salvo for another great reaction... yes, you are becoming a Queenie!! So many of us are... and for so many years... I so LOVE this song, it highlights not only Freddie's vocals, but also his insane piano skills, and with Brian enhancing the 'conversation' between guitar and piano, it becomes so hauntingly mesmerizing and beautiful... one of my all-time favorites. Roger and John round out the song so expertly, keeping the tempo flowing so smoothly and effortlessly... yes, TOTALLY underrated!! Another totally underrated song would be "The Prophet's Song", since BoRhap out-shined it on the Night at the Opera album... or "In the Lap of the Gods", the first one, not the 'revisited' one, that's a totally different song... blessings to you, my dear friend...
One of my all time favorite early Queen songs ♥️ His passion is infectious 🎤🎸 The haunting guitar & piano paired with Freddie’s amazing vocals 🔥🔥 Wow ♥️🎼 This is from 1974! What a great year for music ♥️
Listening to the bluesy music you have in your background, you might appreciate Queen, My Melancholy Blues. There are good live versions, but I prefer the studio version, it's your choice.
Mystical magical Queen - Brian penned this beauty about a girl he had a crush on in his college Biology class! Always get a Tolkien vibe from this performance! The blending of piano & guitar is so wonderful.🧝🏻♀️🍃

I remember seeing them do this in concert and to a person we were mesmerized. This was also back in the time when Freddie ALWAYS threw roses out to the audience. I missed one by one person. 😢
Definitely underrated, I can't understand why the views aren't insanely high. I watch this video several times a week and I still get chills when I listen. Queen was so innovative, they influenced musicians from every genre. Stone Cold Crazy and Keep yourself alive are also great songs from their early years.
Hi! Love your reaction freddie's voice is outstanding his piano playing is insane and brian may his playing on the quitar is insane love brian so talented just a masterpiece hands down brilliant performance Give me chills out of this world 💜❤️🔥❤
This band are epic in every way. Vocals, guitar, drums & bass in perfect harmony. March of the Black Queen is the partner song to this and well worth a listen. The Queen back catalogue never gets old. Buckle up, you're in for the ride of your life!!!
When a friend introduced me to Queen II, I fell in love with this song...but then I saw/heard the Live At The Rainbow version (pretty much identical to this one at the Hammersmith), and my jaw dropped! Freddie's voice & the sonic treatment by the rest of the band could only be described as 'ethereal'. It elevated an already favourite track to legendary status. So glad you reacted to this!
Magical, powerful, compelling, passionate, apparition-like song. So glad you reviewed "White Queen", because I'm not sure I've heard anyone touch this beautiful ballad. So many of Queen's songs are underrated, and this certainly is one of them. In 1975, Freddie's voice was crystal clear, with the ability to traverse octaves easily, and hold notes endlessly. As he sings "White Queen," Freddie draws you into a mystical realm with his amorous and erotic voice. Unfortunately, he started smoking cigarettes, and he developed the dreaded vocal nodes. As time progressed, Freddie developed his signature "growl", which is also quite appealing. In this song, let's not forget about Freddie's ardent and intense piano playing that is absolutely mesmerizing. Freddie easily could have been a concert pianist. Thank you, Salvo, for reviewing this song.
What we can say is that Freddie was feeling music with is body and was able to translate it with his voice, yes very underrated song and there are many more : check out Somebody to love in Montreal 1981 or Love of my life, or Another one by the dust, or Bohemian Rhapsody, same concert… Queen is often better live
Welcome to the world of Queen! They have several masterpieces and this performance was one of them. You might want to try out "The March of the Black Queen" or The Prophet's Song". Thanks for you reaction to this wonderful performance.
Dude, your face scrunched with awed emotions as I hoped it would!!! Anyone who gets this performance just “knows” what they’re being privileged to hear!!
Great reaction...Brian May wrote “White Queen” about a girl in his university ...he really liked her but didn’t have the courage to approach her..believe it or not ”Black Queen” is featured in the game “Final Fantasy” V111...Queen is everywhere🤩
In the instrumental portion, you can hear,at least in this early part of their career, the influence of Jimmy Page on Brian’s playing. No secret. Queen loved Zeppelin. But Queen very quickly developed their own style and their creativity was boundless.
Freddie’s gift was that he could sing incredibly and you felt he was singing straight to you. He with Brian May masterfully on the guitar, John Deacon genius on bass and Roger Taylor backing Freddie with his powerful drumming and killer scratchy voice. They are geniuses. 16 albums so plenty more for you to check out!
One of the best songs by Queen (Brian May) and sung by the best singer ever. I’m a HUGE Freddie fan! I have about 30 Freddie dolls, pictures of him on my walls (a few hand painted) and jewelry of him as well! Only wish I could have seen them in person. The band now to me is not as good as when Freddie was alive. Maybe if they wrote new songs, I might like them a bit better. You made me cry as I felt your emotions as they resemble mine!
This song never got the attention it deserved. One thing I want to make clear. These were four wonderful musicians. One who I don't want forgotten is John Deacon, one of the greatest bass players in our ttime. I do not want him to be ignored in the way George Harrison. Listen for his bass in all tthe Queen cuts. He is fantastic as all four of the Queen team are.
Queen never, ever disappoints, especially live!
Casi nunca pero si me toco ver algunas canciones en algún concierto q no salieron del todo bn
I love the instrumental interlude where all four members communicated with each other with their instruments
I’m pretty sure they’d have evolved into a jam band - the rock equivalent of a string quartet - had Freddie survived. They just had that kind of chemistry.

They are geniuses. 16 albums so plenty more for you to check out!
In my defence....awesome song, awesome Freddie!
One of my favorite songs by them . Their music just takes you away.
This blew my mind. I can't express his talent.
Roger plays the most musical drums I’ve ever heard.
The closest you will come to seeing Queen live is Jan. 18 - 21 at IMAX theatres around the world.
Listening to this felt like it healed a layer of trauma within me. Can’t really explain it, something about the sound enveloping me. ❤
I'm 46 years old man and almost every time listening this song I have chills and tears. It's absolutely beautiful and mind-blowing song
When and if I go to Heaven, I want that guitar solo playing on the way
How can I go on, and The Golden Boy, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe, Opera extravaganza
Freddie is a one of.
There will never be anyone ever again like him .
Loved your reaction to this stunning performance ❤ This one of my all time favourites ❤
