Ya know, you're only the second reactor to note Karen's phrasing, and the other person was a vocal coach. It astounds me how all these reactors out there seem more intent on moving or bouncing around instead of intently listening closely to how Karen doesn't breathe where most singers would. Kudos to you for noticing. :)
And also no one notices or mentions her perfect diction and the clarity of her voice. I have never heard her sing a song where I did not recognize a word, and that I have never heard in another female singer in the 60 years of listening to music.
Close your eyes and listen to Tori Holub! I swear that Karen has been reincarnated as a BLONDE! The voice is a carbon copy of Karen's sweet alto! Phrasing, vowels, diction is Karen again!
Omg, not doing very well health wise.. And this is just putting me in a better loving mood...so hard to do in this world today with everything going on.
Nice reaction, nice analysis. This song epitomizes Karen's heartbreaking story. This truly is Karen's song. I feel fortunate to have grown up with Carpenters timeless music and Karen's heavenly and ANGELIC voice. Extremely talented duo! Rest in peace beautiful Karen. You were and still are loved by many!
Thank you Clifford! Appreciate the positive comment. Karen was my childhood favorite and I grew up with Carpenters music which was just perfection. Her voice was distinct and heaven-sent. Best regards 🙂
One thing about the lyrics of this song - it really seems to be a reflection of her own life. I don't think they meant it to be that way, but when she never really found 'that love' - I believe that was one of the reasons of her quick departure from this life. 😮💨 Please also react to their song "Solitaire" - thank you.
You're funny ..one last time...you'll want to listen to her every day...so hurry up and listen to her over 100+ songs! You could be #1...let's work together...I know the best! Haha...
Not to nitpick but I think it would be more accurate to say that Karen is able to sing long phrases without taking a breath within such phrases, rather than “without breathing” 😂 - she obviously took a breath before singing those long phrases.
she broke my heart when she sang this song. I felt so sorry for her.😢
This is where The Carpenters created power ballads. It's strange to think that they exerted such a huge influence over future musicians. Yet they did.
Thanks Martie! This remains my most viewed reaction video ever. 🙂🙏
For me she has the MOST perfect voice,,,,she has 3 octave voice contralto,,, that's why American is the greatest artist of all time,,,
Karen was my childhood favorite and I still keep her vinyl records. She has a distinct voice like no other. ❤️
@@SoulSurging hey...yr not near my age!

The guitar work on this song is simply amazing.
I agree Patrick. By the late, great guitarist Tony Peluso.
By far my favorite female singer of my lifetime and I'm 70.
Thank you Rex! Appreciate the comment. I grew up with Karen’s music . An eternal favorite ❤️
The Carpenters were amazing back in the day. I was straight rock and roll but my guilty pleasure was the Carpenters.
Music is our spiritual nutrients..Love all those great musicians especially our Carpenters!
This has to be one of the most reacted to groups, for good reason.. So many people just now discovering them.
Thanks Michael. I’m amazed at the response to my first Carpenters post.

Thanks Christopher! Karen does it so effortlessly and listening to her phrasing and beautiful voice is just magical. 🙏❤️
I have to totally agree with that... of course I was a music teacher.

@@nkcbrazil super agree. We don’t need lyrics when we listen to a Carpenters song. Perfect diction.

Thanks Jeffrey. No one has matched the uniqueness and distinctiveness of her beautiful voice. ❤️
You mean Hellow Sailor!
You will get drums in a Carpenter tune because Karen was a drummer.

Thanks Calvin! I think “singing long phrases without pausing sounds” better.
