i installed a small servo motor to my amps gain knob that i can control with a simple 0-5volt pcb. At .3 volts the gain is all the way down and at 4.5 volts its all the way up, and is infinitely variable in between. I use a 3 wire TPS sensor thats mounted in my dash to send the voltage back to the pcb and servo motor. i dont use a headunit i have a Samsung Galaxy S7 FE Tablet flush mounted into the dash and use only BT output to a BT reciever that uses rca outputs to my amp so the gain control is very necessary especially when using my S22 phone or a passenger wants to DJ with their device.

Hey there i would like to add a bass know to my Kenwood KAC-D8105-5 Channel amp but it does not have an amp plug in in the amp and my head unit does not have RCA input/output. Is it still possible to add a knob?
I'm hoping you've figured this out by now but for other's that come along and see this, I just thought I'd answer your question. No you would not max out the gain on the amp and just use the control knob, you would mad out the control knob and then set your gain untill there is a little distortion or clipping and then back the gain off untill it goes away. This way now you are not able to exceed the setting of your gain to where it sounds good by using the knob. I find these knobs to be useful more for the point of being able to turn your bass down Incase there would be someone riding with you who doesn't like bass to loud or if you're just not feeling like listening to heavy bass today, things like that.
you should be able to hook it up just like in this video, except you'd connect it to the RCA out on your high level converter. Put a controller similar to this one between your high level and your amp. You would need to run long RCA cables from the high level converter and amp into the cabin of your car if you want the control knob mounted on your dash.
I have a question, so mine was installed professionally but they attached the knob to a 15amp fuse. My cigarette lighter didn’t work so I figured the fuse blew. I went to change it and realized they never pushed the fuse in all the way so now I don’t even think the fuse blew. I can’t get the fuse to go in all the way with this little attachment any tips?
Your bass knob shouldn't need a fuse unless it has a volt meter attached. Usually you want to pull voltage at the amp vs elsewhere to a true reading if using that knob of knob. Sounds like a wiring issue which is hard to diagnose from a youtube comment.
@@ProvoBeastAudio ok whenever I disconnect it from the fuse the bass knob doesn’t work anymore that why I figure that the knobs connection is there. I get that thank you for responding. If you have time is a 1000 watt Cerwin-Vega compatible with a Skar SK12TBV. It’s a single 12 inch tube style sub
Will adding a bass knob mess up the gains that are already set on the amplifier? For example can i turn the bass knob all the way up before connecting ? I dont want to add extra bass I just wanna be able to lower the bass down snd turn it all the way up to meet my current gain setting…hope it makes sense
It's simply a line level control, and doesn't do any signal correction or additional gain. So when you set your gains, do so with the volume knob all the way up.
How would this work with a sbc rca box since I'm running 2 amps 1 for mids n highs. Other for subs.. do I hook that rca after the rca box for the sub amp only? And also I have a audio control epicenter
How bad is the parasitic loss due to the LED and (I imagine it's rheostat controlled?) For head units that have a lower output the LED alone will kill the signal.
Its about these bass knob, could you please gave an example how to connect these to my Pioneer DEH-S7200BHS and if you have a time please send me one of that bass knob. So I just hooked up a sub to my trunk and have it connected to my sub if I go on the radio and turn the bass all the way down on my door speakers so it doesn’t distort as bad at high volumes will that affect my sub output for changing the bass on the radio
What you need to do is actually set high pass filters (if your radio has that functionality) to around 80 hz which will remove the lower frequencies from your interior speakers and avoid distortion.
Ya well what if you wanna control the volume on your mids and highs amp from 4 channels rcas these gains don't seem to have 4 in 4 out , are they bias to only subwoofer preouts ?.
I have two mono amps daisy chained by the RCA cables to one another. My question is,do I need two of the bass knobs one for each amp,or will the one bass knob control both since they are daisy chained?
Just need one, your bass knob will connect to the main connection between your two amps and the radio. Since they are daisy changed, they act as one amp.

The bass knob raises and lowers the signal to the amps, they do not affect the gain and bass boost on your amps. Before you install the bass knob, i would tune your amps with the bass boost off to set your gains properly on both amps. Once that is done, you can adjust your bass boost. Once your amps are set, go ahead and install the bass knob which will protect you against distortion and clipping.
Nope, just only controls the input level to the amps. These are also known as line level knobs too which also can be used for other applications besides a subwoofer amp.
Completely depends on the sub and amp configuration you are running. As long as your amp is not clipping or sub is not distorting, than yes, that should be fine. But as soon as you hear that distortion, its too much. You will want to set your amp gain correctly, and the bass knob allows you to play in that allotted area safely with how much bass is comfortable for you.

All its going to do is turn the amp up to what's is set at and isnt just like a subwoofer control setting on your deck??? There is no way to control just the bass of the amp that way... I'm running an aux cord to my phone and output rca cables and I have input rca cables could I hook this up to my input? rca cables I tried another rca cable while music was playing and it still played
That’s a ground loop issue. Either bad RCA cables, Poor grounds on the amp, or often it can be a cheap amp or radio. Sometimes it’s ANC also creating the issue
It would have outputs, not inputs. And those RCA outputs are for different channels. You will have 2 outputs for your front, 2 outputs for your rear, and two outputs for your sub channel. You will use the Bass Knob on the sub 2 channels only and use the patch cable (or any short rca 2 channel cable) will be needed.
