@@placeholdername3887 Star Gate had at least a fig leaf's defense for things like that, in that they were literally fighting against the ancient gods, so it made a little more sense for them to name things after mortals who had defied the gods in mythology. It just so happens that most of those myths were built around the moral of not opposing the gods, so most of the people in them met dismal ends.

I saw a guy on live chat asking how the Muslims prayed if they don't know where Mekka is, if you don't know where the Kaba is (and if you don't have the means to determine it's place) you can just select a direction and pray while facing it.
Islam does something beautiful when it's practitioners are beyond Earth. If you can't reasonably pray towards the Kaaba itself, you prey towards the planet. If you can't find the Earth, or it would be impractical to keep pointed towards it for the entire duration of the ceremony, prayer is directed towards Sol itself. If even that cannot be done, than to close one's eyes, and imagine oneself praying toward the Kaaba, is enough. If I ever write a sci-fi story, I'm going to incorporate that. It's such a powerful and genuine thing- It's just beautiful.
I know this leads down controversial roads, but religions aren't static. Cut off from Earth, unsure if it even exists anymore (even without the secret messages only the leaders have) Antaren Muslims might have founded a new Mecca, as a center for prayer and pilgrimage. Likewise, with so many predominantly Catholic nations represented, there could be an Antaren Vatican with its own Pope.
@@jesseberg3271 could be but i personally dont think so, wasnt the mecca built arround a meteorite? so its not like a christian cathedral that is just built there i assume that antaren muslims either still think about earth when praying or if they have founded a new site theres a very specific reason for it
@@thomas.02 No, there was a big debate about it back in the 2000's. Malaysia's space program made it official, printing booklets with the guidelines they'd worked out with a team of 150 Islamic scholars, and thus far (as is typical of Islam) those practical guidelines have been generally accepted as standard.
Some people really don’t care too much about the cultural and political make-up of Antares but I think is gonna be pretty fun to see a ragtag group of colonies at various levels of autonomy trying to stay organized long enough to form a functional structure and find a way back home
And it would also be interesting to see that even if they do find a way, would they want to rejoin the rest of humanity or retain their sovereignty, and what would earth think about that?

He said have a seat, and I sat down Is this the first time you’ve been to our little town? I said, I think it is He said, I don’t like to brag But we’re kinda proud of that ragged old flag. You see, we got a little hole in that flag there when our founders took it across the Missouri, And it got laser burns the time that the national council sat watching the fighting with the Rixians And it got a bad rip in the outer rim With the the compact and the Union tugging at its seems And it almost fell at Yeedru but she waved on though, She got blasted with a plasma beam on Nimerium, and she got blasted again on Tlalocan, There was the Tyrum, Rixians, and Klaris, and the Florian wind blew hard on that ragged old flag In the Gadaxus system, she got a big hole from a Florian ship She turned blood red during the NEX war she hung limp and low a time or two She was in Halifax, Prophet’s Retreat, she went where she was sent by her national council. She waved upon our ship among the starry cosmos, And now they’ve about quit waving her back here at home In her own good land here she’s been abused She’s been burned, shot, vandalized, and soaked And the government for which she stands is seen bad throughout the land And she’s getting threadbare and wearing thin But she’s in good shape for the shape she’s in ‘Cause she’s been through the fire before And I believe she can take a whole lot more So we raise her up every morning Take her down every night We don’t letter touch the ground and we fold her up right On second thought, I do like to brag ‘Cause I’m mighty proud of that ragged old flag

The first series was a fascistic state where order and unity is sorta the focus, while the current one series seems to be a warped mirror of our world, seems like people might have unconsciously wished for unity hence the first series while after living the dream, they now turn to their reality and seek to find ways to fix it.

I think Earth has gone fascist. Isn't the game mechanics that a splinter colony will have the opposite ethics of its origin empire? They'll be bigger and stronger but hostile.
Ngl, the Antares Confederacy is some of my favourite worldbuilding so far. I loved the GTU, but this was some really interesting backstory that tells a tale unlike most others but also full of hope. Stuff like the Non-Aligned Movement prevailing as the dominant force and unexpected victory of democracy in the face of a gridlocked system meant to benefit its strongest members echo enough elements of our history to be real while adding an optimistic spin. The story of the colonies fighting against an alien world, their history before contact was reestablished, and the period of uncertainty before the Confederacy's founding all sounds like they could be full-length stories of their own. Imagine how many people worked nonstop for the dream of a united but fair system, whether out of memories passed down to them or dreams of a better future. It's just so full of... hope. Not to mention that each of the member states sound like they could be unique parts of one whole, united in their common past but distinct enough to have their own unique identities. I just love seeing so many different people united behind a cause, and it feels so much more interesting than a relatively universal or homogenous identity. The background of their ancestors, and how that's evolved with their people also feels pretty unique. This is a level of fluff writing that'll only impact the game so much, but I love Antares for it more than I think I can explain. So yeah, I wish the best for Antares and hope humanity sees a place like it one day, though more as what it has become than what it was.
Weird idea for a theory: Since it’s mentioned that they could have gone back in time, what if they landed up a few centuries ago elsewhere in the Milky Way? And once they’re a galactic nation, they discover Earth in the 22nd century. They decide to leave Earth alone for the time being (as they were never there in the first place), but accidentally send some radio broadcasts, becoming the very radio signals intercepted on Earth all those years ago (or now, depending on how you look at it). Then they wait until a few years after their initial expedition left, and then travel to Earth to give the people in the solar system a real shock.
@@trla6505 the only problem with that is they have no idea where they are in relation to earth and its knowable constellation so therefore they wouldn't be able to get a good price on that for probably centuries
I think it’s more like the pre civil war era American government, where the Federal government had to balance their power with state power, and it seems that many people in the confederacy have an attachment to their individual republics
It has similarities to both the Articles of Confederation and the early interpretation of the US Constitution (since is has a bicameral legislature with a state appointed Senate and a directly elected lower chamber).
@Dilet Well it has many similarities to the antares confederacy the american articles of confederation where terrible, to the point where pretty much everyone assumed that america would collapse EDIT: i realized i may have miss-interpreted your comment, i'l still leave this though cause i find history interesting
Well technically America is by all right a constitutional republic we were founded as such and should have remained at such. If anyone weather inside or outside America refers to us as a democracy they are ill-informed we are a constitutional republic as stated in our Constitution and other founding documents oh, and don't give me that BS that a democracy is a form of a republic because a Republic and a democracy are opposing ideologies
Huh, the government structure of the Antares Confederacy is eerily similar to how Canada works. Especially the senate functioning as a house of 'sober second thought' and the right of its constituent units to secede.
though Canada has an governor general as head of state, not sure many Canadians would welcome the idea of having the prime minister as head of both government and state
The dutch have a similar system. Our senate or 1ste kamer as it's called is elected by the regional governments. If got the feeling Antares uses a typical parlementairy system.
questions so far: what did Earth transmit that the Antares Confederacy receive? why did it spook the Confederate leadership? (what are those signals of mathematical patterns?) what happened to the final, 19th colony? what caused the wormhole anomaly? where's the Confederacy on the galactic map? how's Earth doing now?
I'm gonna take a shot in the darkness and guess the 19th colony descended into cannibalism. As time went by the inhabitants devolved into feral beings with little intelligence. Add in genetic defects from consuming human flesh and a hundred years later there might be no recognizable humans left.
They probably have plans for each of these mysteries, but leave them open for now to us so they can reveal them during the run, or tweak if the situation fits it different. (like maybe the 19th colony did some weird experiment that made them vanish without a trace and they tie it in with the Unbidden if that crisis happens)
@@shadowtheme96 I was thinking the same, it reminds me a lot the Reavers from Firefly (great TV show if you didn't watch it) and the far lost planet of Miranda which they talk about in Serenity (the movie that realeased after the show was canceled). Humanity came in an enormous star system to go away from overpopulation on Earth, and started to terraform every planet and moon in that system. But since the Alliance was founded, it has always refuse to recognize the existence of the one and only thing that it fears since its creation : the Reavers. Humans who live and who are navigating at the borders of the system, and who are basically devastating all form of civilization when they go inside the colonies. They are known for four things they do : they plunder, they rape, they kill, and if that was not enough, they eat most of their victims. If they don't do that to you, their madness will invade you, and you will become a Reaver as well.
I just realized that like the GTU's "Terra Invicta", The Antares Confederation needs a national rally cry. (I know it has a national motto but "Hic Manebimus Optime" doesn't have that patriotic kick to it.) In case one does not appear in the Prologue, some ideas can be considered. "Antares Iunctus", "Antares In Foedus", "Simul Astra", "Praemisit Antares", etc.
@Furret Furret I just don't see how that idea could fail to be pulled under by the 40k fans (of who I am partially one). I think it wouldn't have the freedom it needed to be fully developed.
Also to be fair the confederacy is somewhat similar to StarCrafts origin, so while I enjoy the possibility of story for the Antares Confed, I can't help but think that it's partially because of my love for StarCraft
The lost colony start always reminds me of the Dragonriders of Pern books by Ann McCaffrey, one of my favourite book series, I'm looking forward to following this series.
Oh Come, oh Come You lost tribes of Earth Oh Hear, oh Hear Our cries from the world of your birth Be brave, be strong, be together you must For the trials ahead will prove your worth Go well, go well Into the unknown with trust Go Forth, go Forth That you may Return to Us
The departure of the colony ships to their sites, the fact that survival was uncertain and doubtful, it somehow reminded me of the words of The 100: " May we meet again. " A sort of silent prayer, a hope that whatever comes and happens, we will find our way back to each other.
"Of the 19 original sites, 11 had survived" oh so 8 "of the fallen 8, 2 had starved, 4 had succumbed to disease" 2 and 4 okay so that's six "1 had frozen, while 1 had flooded" oh rip so that's what happened to the eight of the- "while the fate of the last was sealed" wait that's more then eight. Either there were 20 or ya did a mess up there lmao.
I think he means that the last one doesn't even publicly existed, as they censored any traces off the record. So though there are originally 20 sites, the republic lied that there only 19 of them.
One would think that with the importance of that mission and the novelty and apparent strangeness of that FTL system, Earhart's fleet would have some emergency protocols in case that unforeseen arose. Anyway, this season looks promising and I can't wait for the mystery of Earth to be solved. Forward Antares!
@@andrewdiaz3529 Yeah that's definitely true. I dunno though, the premise for the motto was its historical context, which isn't the historical background of most of these peoples. I think it would've been more fitting to have an ancient chinese or arabic saying as the motto, everything in science fiction uses bloody latin as the base.
Latin makes sense in the fact its a dead language and does not show favoritism to any of the predominate languages that come from those areas formerly inhabited and that lack of favoritism is a primary tenet in which the Confederacy had been established, along with it being used in the scientific/law/governmental fields three things any nation needs to reestablish itself. Also if you look at it from a historical standpoint many of the regions and languages from which the colonists came from either have their root in Latin or had Latin spoken in the region during the Empire. To give you a few examples South America almost all countries there speak Spanish aside from Brazil, Guyana, Suriname and French Guinea are respectively Portuguese, English, Dutch and French now consider that French, Portuguese and Spanish are Romance languages having their root in Latin. Now to the Middle East which is home to Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Turkey all of which had been under Imperial rule as a unified Roman Empire or later the Eastern Roman (Byzantine) Empire despite the latter eventually switching to Greek as a primary language it can be assumed Latin had been spoken there by either colonists, government officials or the Legions. Now if we look at Africa particularly the northern part Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, and Libya also had been under Roman rule thus had Latin spoken there as per the aforementioned reasons, as for the rest of Africa Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ivory Coast, Djibouti, Gabon, Guinea, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, Seychelles, Togo all speak French while Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe all speak Portuguese and Equatorial Guinea, (while not a offically recognized county) Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic being the only ones that speaks Spanish and if you want to throw Eritrea, Ethiopia and Somalia all once had Italian spoken in them. So out of the 54 countries in Africa that only leaves 22 that had been touched by Latin or derivative language in some way. If we move onto Oceania and Asia French Polynesia, New Caledonia, and Vanuatu speak French while places like Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam had French spoken in them for a time, Carolines, Guam, Marianas, Palaos and Philippines had Spanish spoken in them, Portuguese is spoken in East Timor (while this is no longer the case) Macau and Goa also had spoken Portuguese. TL:DR So to sum it up if you consider that Latin is considered a dead language thus cannot whole be claimed as a mother tongue by any of the colonists as to not show favoritism or its use in scientific/law/governmental fields and the areas and people that spoke Latin directly or one of its off shoot languages and compare that with the colonists of the Confederacy former home nations Latin is a logical choice.
@@HypnoticChronic1 Christ what a write up, good job. Definitely good stuff to think about. I think the key factor you're ignoring is the cultural association between Latin and imperialist colonialism. The whole "let's put a Latin motto on everything" trend was a big part of exporting European culture during the period of European imperialism. This was something which was widely despised in the Middle East, Asia, and Oceania. I can understand the historical links you're making between these places and Latin, they're well reasoned. But just because Latin is a dead language doesn't mean it has no historical meaning. It's possible that the confederacy would have adopted it, but I just find it very hard to believe that a coalition of the very nations that were most adversely effected by European imperialism would choose Latin for their motto. But hey, I'm just being pedantic because I enjoy the series.
@@aidanfurst8512 That is a fair assessment no doubt however, I would like to clarify one thing the reasoning I pointed out Latin specifically as a dead language was not due to its historical context but, because that none of the countries that the colonists had once called home could claim it as their own language if they had chosen one of those from the former countries it could have been interpreted as a sign of favoritism, which by what I took from the prologue the Confederacy was attempting to avoid at all costs. This was just me putting myself in the shoes of a politician in the Confederacy thinking what would cause the least amount of friction between the member states and yet be a somewhat uniting factor. I can see the point your making as well with Latin being a reminder of the colonial past, but to my mind I would have to think the colonized people would hold more resentment to the spoken language of the occupiers themselves rather than a language of a people long since passed which those occupiers merely had revered, despite that train of logic many of those same people still actively use the language of their former occupiers as I had pointed out be it for efficiency sake or just viewing it as a non issue. We could also speculate that this is far enough in the future and resentment has all but died out, to give a real world example of such a case take a look at the relationship between US and British citizens neither view the other as "the enemy" so to speak nor do their respective governments despite fighting two wars with the other, but go back just a 120 years and that hatred and resentment is still alive and well so much so that the British had been seriously concerned that the US may well have sided with the Central Powers in WWI. So this line of thinking leads me to conclude that the citizens of the Confederacy would take a stance similar to the stance the US took during its infant years and try not to concern themselves with "old world problems" and focus on the here and now and the future. That being said this is merely speculation on my part I could well be 100% wrong, hell both of us could be and that is perfectly fine as well, it will be interesting to see what direction Templin takes it I remember during the GTU campaign the chat really latching onto the whole water conservation narrative and that becoming probably more than it was ever meant to be. This could be another one of such moments and say a Confederate historian runs across some old archives that mentions the Roman occupation of Egypt for 600 years which triggers a series of riots and defacing the motto on public institutions and monuments or some such which itself leads to a system seceding from the Confederacy, Templin has always been good with putting narrative spin on in game events and I don't believe they will let us down this time either. Also apologies for the read yet again when I enjoy a discussion I tend to get on a roll well... you can see for yourself what happens, again sorry.

“My dad told me this story one time. Apparently it’s been passed down for ages or something. One of my ancestors was in charge of the colonization efforts on one of the flotilla ships. It was the night they would disembark and tear down everything for the colony, everyone had gathered on the flight deck and were scared out of their minds. So this ancestor of mine got up in front of everybody and said something like ‘Alright everyone, I know this is nowhere near what we were promised. So we got a choice: We either stop right now or wait to die, or we just start. That’s it. Just start. Begin. Do the work. Now I don’t know about you, but I’m here to live. Who’s with me?’ If you ask me what the Confederacy means to me, that’s it. We just chose to survive. We did the work. It wasn’t pretty or perfect or all good or whatever. Honestly... those 8 intended messages and the several hundret(-s) more that they recieved sound like desperate calls for help. As if earth was attacked and wiped out. cough cough DOOM ETERNAL intro cough cough.
I imagine the first 8 are normal stuff, and then the rest are increasingly frantic ones, starting from simple 'something approaches' all the way to screams and warnings to not return to Sol ever again, that its all lost.
@@Runetrantor exactly. And then a final one: don't return to earth, there is nothing left here. Kind of like obi-wan's message not to return to the jedi temple.
Somehow this reminds me of Mass Effect Andromeda. You travel to a possible garden world, only to emerge from warp in a foreign and possibly hostile star system. With supplies extremely limited you need to find a way to be self sufficient, else all is lost.
When war comes I think the inherent weakness of the military setup in place can be overcome by simple competition, i.e. the Interstellar government 'requests' xyz materiel, and far from acting as an obstacle to this, the individual states actually compete heavily to provide as much of this as possible, in order to maximise spending on their own planets, and to build up as much of the necessary industry as possible to maximise the odds of them acquiring even more contracts in the future. This could also be used as a plot device, i.e. those planets that 'traditionally' (after many decades) fulfil most of the military procurement contracts become more xenophobic and jingoistic when meeting new alien species in order to necessitate more military spending and thus more business for them, while the poorer ones without that industry argue for more diplomacy, less expansion, and more development on the home planets.
This story was incredible! If this was a Sci-Fi book I would happily pick it up and read the whole thing, particularly if some of the artwork from this episode was the cover for the book
I just had a realization what if Invicta season 2 takes place in the same universe as season 1 but in a different galaxy and it may be possible that at the end of season we will encounter the colonization fleet from the GTU that was send to colonize a new galaxy at the end of season 1. Hell the fleet could arrive earlier that i may think and act like a fallen empire as time travel was mentioned. So the Confederacy may not have to liberate earth but instaid encounter a massively powerful interstellar empire. What do you guys think.
both the GTU and the flotilla that became Antares are explicitly from earth, with a different history. GTU was modern day earth got attacked by aliens and survived, Antares is that same earth but in the future started exploring in a "normal" way and antares is a lost colony. so if anything, it would imply some multiverse shenanigans.
@@marcog.verbruggen674 I am a bit rusty on the GTU back story but was i really modern day earth or was it one that had technologically regressed to the point that it looked like modern day (in this theory GTU earth had regressed its technology because of the grief the loss of the colony ship caused). But still this is why i asked what you guys think its nice to see different perspectives.
@@alfagamingnl1815 I suppose it is somewhat plausible? Though if memory serves, in Invicta Season 1 prior to the devastating attack by the Byrum that almost wiped out Humanity, Earth's space programs were still in its infancy. I remember the United Nations organizing a ragtag screen of orbital defense satellites in an attempt to intercept the Byrum space ships in orbit but were swept aside. In Season 2, Earth's space programs were already advanced enough that we have warp gates and flotilas of space exploration vessels. Heck we've even managed to reach Alpha Centauri and other solar systems. Regardless of how much technology might regress as a result from the grief of losing such a massive colonization fleet, it doesn't seem possible for it to fall back THAT far to the point that we can't even field anything but satellites. Sure advancement might stagnant, with riots and civil unrest erupting around the world. At the very least I'd imagine Earth in Season 2 will at least be able to maintain their existing fleets and various research outposts in space. So even if an entity such as the Byrum were to show up there'd be a bigger fight in space. Whether we can beat back the Byrum invasion fleet is a different matter, but Earth will almost certainly fair better in Season 2 than in Season 1.
plot twist, the monsters that have undoubtedly attacked Earth in Season 2 are that GTU colonization fleet from end of Season 1, and they've decided that this Earth is theirs as well.

A few idea for the about Stellaris Invicta Season 2 Templin Institute because i don't know how to classified this (sorry for the bad english): 1. an overview of all empire or important empire in the series, maybe even some of their cities, systems, fleets, person of interest,... 2. an honorable mention of all empire that were good but didn't make the cut or some of the team personal favourite ( not necessarly have to be in the actual series ) 3. an extra round of writing submission to the people whose empire were picked (either in the actual series or the picked 100), they can write idea about their empire cities, systems, fleets, person of interest,... or even add additional lore to the Antares confederacy or the chosen empire in general though i don't know how to exactly organize that Of course, the team have all right to chose which on to make a video about, but i think this will even increase viewer participation even more, I just hope that you don't make this patreon exclusive because that just bad, and at best their will be only 100 submission at best ( though probally not all will join) so it not that bad.
So, a quirky constitution, a host of newly made traditions, limits on the national military, a Senate that represents territories rather than people, no official language, and what you might call a wall of separation between mosque and state: so basically _totally_ not not the USA in space.

Amazing world building work here as to be expected. Love the whole thing! Love the idea behind the navy. Assume we can expect different versions of the same class of ship depending on which Republic built it
Just one thing that I realized, the Antares system is roughly 600 light-years from Sol, so assuming that the Antares system the colonization flotilla was originally going to colonize is the same as our own, that means that the United Earth Government had one hell of an empire to even be able to reach so far. We're talking hundred of thousands of planets here.
man a lot of these things about the complexity of interplanetary government system just flew over my head. It sorta makes sense--they're in an era and generations so far removed from our own that the intricacy of politics have evolved and re-invented several times over, but on another hand it's just too much for me to fully comprehend.
A lot of this is actually very similar to the American Articles of Confederation, which were abandoned really quickly because they were a really bad way to run a nation

Is this the first time you’ve been to our little town?
I said, I think it is
He said, I don’t like to brag
But we’re kinda proud of that ragged old flag.
You see, we got a little hole in that flag there when our founders took it across the Missouri,
And it got laser burns the time that the national council sat watching the fighting with the Rixians
And it got a bad rip in the outer rim
With the the compact and the Union tugging at its seems
And it almost fell at Yeedru but she waved on though,

There was the Tyrum, Rixians, and Klaris, and the Florian wind blew hard on that ragged old flag
In the Gadaxus system, she got a big hole from a Florian ship
She turned blood red during the NEX war
she hung limp and low a time or two
She was in Halifax, Prophet’s Retreat, she went where she was sent by her national council.
She waved upon our ship among the starry cosmos,
And now they’ve about quit waving her back here at home
In her own good land here she’s been abused
She’s been burned, shot, vandalized, and soaked
And the government for which she stands is seen bad throughout the land
And she’s getting threadbare and wearing thin
But she’s in good shape for the shape she’s in
‘Cause she’s been through the fire before
And I believe she can take a whole lot
more
So we raise her up every morning
Take her down every night
We don’t letter touch the ground and we fold her up right

In the vastness of the skies, our native birthplace bathes in Sol's light
Our cradle turned aged, our brave ancestors took leave
The bright sunlight and wounded garden did weep
Yet the children, brave and grown stood strong
Tears in silent eyes as they faced destiny headlong
From the injured island into the black expanse they did part
The remaining to heal and rekindle the spark
Even building second homes, the true forever calling to their hearts
On Earhart's wing, the pioneers multitudes did soar
For the future Frontier belonged to all Sol does Adore
Past the islands and ports and rings
Bathed in Sol' love and spirits joyous as the Earth did sing
For her promised children at last spread their wings
Yet as the void gave way to a new star's fire
Their hopes faded as sights soon grew dire
The island sailed to was not to be found
And the harshness of the brutal untamed worlds would teach lessons profound
That the Vagrants lost would be crushed in the gloom
The children of their homeland, in the Cold depths were dust and doomed
Yet courage raised as Diego's rings past
Unyielding resolution that the home worlds children would last
Solemn they broke apart for safety in pain
With promise to survive, tame the wilds, and come together again
And so reunited, their dream lights the spark
Forever undivided, set forth to the garden and rejoin the flock
The lost sons and daughters to rejoin the fold
Voyaging from renamed Antares proud and bold
And so children of Antares they do call, turning homeward for deliverance for all

That's a great idea bro

It’s kinda of interesting how this somewhat parallels America’s articles of confederation (we got rid of it, around 1789)
I think it’s more like the pre civil war era American government, where the Federal government had to balance their power with state power, and it seems that many people in the confederacy have an attachment to their individual republics
It has similarities to both the Articles of Confederation and the early interpretation of the US Constitution (since is has a bicameral legislature with a state appointed Senate and a directly elected lower chamber).

what happened to the final, 19th colony?
what caused the wormhole anomaly?
where's the Confederacy on the galactic map?
how's Earth doing now?
I'm gonna take a shot in the darkness and guess the 19th colony descended into cannibalism. As time went by the inhabitants devolved into feral beings with little intelligence. Add in genetic defects from consuming human flesh and a hundred years later there might be no recognizable humans left.
You mean the Secret 20th. I think they're going to be the Confederacy's "Section 31"
They probably have plans for each of these mysteries, but leave them open for now to us so they can reveal them during the run, or tweak if the situation fits it different. (like maybe the 19th colony did some weird experiment that made them vanish without a trace and they tie it in with the Unbidden if that crisis happens)
It's gonna be Tyranids

The departure of the colony ships to their sites, the fact that survival was uncertain and doubtful, it somehow reminded me of the words of The 100: " May we meet again. " A sort of silent prayer, a hope that whatever comes and happens, we will find our way back to each other.
The voice actor definitely needs some credit! He’s done a fantastic job with this whole series!!
"Of the 19 original sites, 11 had survived"
oh so 8
"of the fallen 8, 2 had starved, 4 had succumbed to disease"
2 and 4 okay so that's six
"1 had frozen, while 1 had flooded"
oh rip so that's what happened to the eight of the-
"while the fate of the last was sealed"
wait that's more then eight. Either there were 20 or ya did a mess up there lmao.
I think he means that the last one doesn't even publicly existed, as they censored any traces off the record. So though there are originally 20 sites, the republic lied that there only 19 of them.

Humanity is dead! Again!
> Colonists primarily come from Asia, the Middle East, and Africa
> Still chooses a Latin motto
Scientific names are in Latin, it's touched alot.

Who’s with me?’
If you ask me what the Confederacy means to me, that’s it. We just chose to survive. We did the work. It wasn’t pretty or perfect or all good or whatever. But what’s the other option?” -Citizen during an interview for the Documentary “Voices of the Nation”

Honestly... those 8 intended messages and the several hundret(-s) more that they recieved sound like desperate calls for help.
Yep I am bingeing this again.

Late in the conversation... But I think I recall a colony group of the GTU disappearing with the use of the jumpdrive or something. Idk I just started on season 2.
A few idea for the about Stellaris Invicta Season 2 Templin Institute because i don't know how to classified this (sorry for the bad english):
1. an overview of all empire or important empire in the series, maybe even some of their cities, systems, fleets, person of interest,...
2. an honorable mention of all empire that were good but didn't make the cut or some of the team personal favourite ( not necessarly have to be in the actual series )
3. an extra round of writing submission to the people whose empire were picked (either in the actual series or the picked 100), they can write idea about their empire cities, systems, fleets, person of interest,... or even add additional lore to the Antares confederacy or the chosen empire in general though i don't know how to exactly organize that Of course, the team have all right to chose which on to make a video about, but i think this will even increase viewer participation even more, I just hope that you don't make this patreon exclusive because that just bad, and at best their will be only 100 submission at best ( though probally not all will join) so it not that bad.

Here we will remain most excellently
