They replaced all my servos for free too. Looking forward to flying it again if my annual ever finishes.

I have several hundred hrs in a Comanche during my upward Corporate pilot flying. I LOVED that A/C easy to fly and a good IFR platform!

When you called clearance delivery from the ground, I am assuming your request was for VFR flight following. Is that correct? I fly out of a class, Delta airport, myself, and see a number and a frequency for clearance delivery. So I’m wondering if I would be able to call clearance delivery for flight following while on the ground before I start the taxi. that would make life so much easier than trying to call departure for Flight following in the air. Just curious.

Hi Russ, this would be a great question for a local CFI. Some Airports use Ground for VFR traffic and Clearance & Delivery for IFR. Sometimes the Clearance Freq is only for picking up IFR Clearances and VFR guys call Ground and to get their taxi instructions.
My airport uses Clearance Delivery for both VFR and IFR Departures so everyone calls them 1st to get your Clearance (if IFR) and Squawk (if VFR).
Talk to a local CFI or just call Clearance and ask, I am sure they would be happy to tell you.
      Mike

@@pipercomanche2506 that’s fair. Thanks for the response. I’ll definitely ask the next time. I’m at the Flight School.

What inboard camera are you using. I can’t believe the clarity. Filter??….I can read your engine monitor, that’s amazing.

You didn’t want to wait until they were almost out of warranty. You basically have a 4 year warranty. After this you have 6 months correct after this install?

Hi TheCapTan, I have no idea, this is the 3rd set of servos (original, 1st Service Bulletin, these) that I have had installed in the 2 years the autopilot has been in the plane. I gave up trying to keep track. :-) Dave and Tony at Avionics place have not steered me wrong yet. I personally have not experienced any problems with the system, all these changes were initiated by Garmin to fix issues others must have been experiencing.

That was a long runway at Rockford.

Hi Todd, yep like Moline, that runway is 10,000 ft. I think I could take off and land 2-3 times on it. :-)

Hi Justin, I'm not sure. I know it was done by serial number so maybe not. You would need to ask your Avionics shop to be sure. Mike
