  • Took my Mrs. to Lake of the Ozarks for a short weekend stay. Had to wait for the weather to pass before we could go and ended up leaving in the afternoon. This is the flight up.

    She is so 'tuned in' to everything that is happening during your flight, yet presents her feedback calmly & succinctly. That is so much better than A) being 'tuned out', on the phone or otherwise, B) being scared and seeing every development as an alarm/emergency (IE, _"OMG, look out!")._

      Ya she has a number of hours flying in the right seat. The only thing she really does not like is turbulence. We try to avoid it by flying early mornings or late afternoons. Sometimes that is simply not possible. And like anything you can get used to it. You might not like it but you get used to it. 🙂

    'Easy on 'the snarky one'.. She brings 'character' to your videos. ;) She adds a dimension that makes them enjoyable eh? ;) Enjoying this video. Who's gonna 'clean n cook?'... LoL!

    Great video!! Since I don’t fly, I love flying along with you. We farm just 10 miles SE of the Moline airport. Funny thing, my wife and I also took a long weekend and spent the night in Camdenton on 3/19. Keep up the great videos.

    Hi, Mike! Nice to see you again in the sky.
    Nice to see all the new avionics, the trim, new autopilot and all the other stuff making flight more easier and enjoyable!
    By the way, teach your wife to deal with the radio and communications to help you and reduce this work :)
    November6928Papa is for sure the most enjoyable comanche 250 I've ever seen on all youtube.

    He gave you PD for the descent, but you replied “Leaving six…” implying that you were immediately beginning your descent. Leaves room for misinterpretation. I appreciate your videos. I’ve always loved Comanches So much more capability than the PA28 I fly.

      Yep. I noticed that. I tried to clarify by repeating Pilots Discretion. I think he understood.

    Dang all I brought back from Berlin was some pieces of the wall and some other smaller souvenirs. You did much better with the hot Spanish wife! Lol
    Hope you and your family are doing fine. It's nice to be able to see ya on here. We go over to the Ozarks now n then. It's not too far from where we live. I think our next trip is to Florida with a stop over in the smokies. Hope you have a great week.

      HI Ludo, I can tell by the photo that you were an MP but the photo is too small for me to be able to see who you are. You know have a get together every now and again, the group that was there for the fall. There is also a facebook group. If you are interested let me know. Have a nice trip to Florida.

    Hi this is Chris, I see your video on u-tube where I believe you said you would answere questions about flying, in 67 years old and desperately want to fly. I'm a heavy equipment operator so machinery is my thing. If you wouldn't mind answering a few questions I would be very greatfull. Thanks. CHRIS

    is that camera exactly on your eye-level? looks so at least. just trying to figure out the forward visibility on that thing

    • @pipercomanche2506
      @pipercomanche2506  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Lazengogh, no it is a bit higher then my eye level and I tilt it down a bit to catch the panel. The forward visibility out of a Comanche is a bit narrow compared to a Bonanza which has a higher roof line. Mike

    Is your trim moving by itself due to an electronic control by your thumb? That's so cool!

    • @pipercomanche2506
      @pipercomanche2506  2 года назад

      Hi RJ,
      Yes to both. If I am flying my left thumb can control the trim. If the Auto Pilot is flying it will move the trim as it needs to. Mike

    Do you leave your gear switch in the up position after the gear is up or do you put it in the center/neutral position?

    • @pipercomanche2506
      @pipercomanche2506  2 года назад +1

      I leave it in the up position. Mike

      @@pipercomanche2506 Thanks for the info, we are in the process of buying a comanche now and the owner is an A&P/AI and he was going over emergency gear down with me with the plane on stands and he said he always puts the gear switch in neutral after the gear is up during flight so that it is in the correct position for emergency gear extension. Any thoughts on that advice?

    • @pipercomanche2506
      @pipercomanche2506  2 года назад +2

      @@chaddthompson Hi Chadd, ya I guess there would be no harm in doing it that way. But I am not going to be in any hurry to do the emergency gear extension and the checklist has that step in it so I guess I don’t see the point. There is nothing in the POH that says to put it in the off position, for normal operations, that I can remember. There may be something to it if one of the limit switches fails, maybe the motor would keep running or something, I don’t know.
      We have a Comanche zoom meeting each Thursday evening where we do training on all kinds of different topics. There are a couple Comanche specific CFII’s that attend regularly and a couple of Comanche specialty A&P, IAs. This would be a great question for them. If you are interested in attending here is the website where you can find the information. northeastcomanche.org/

    @pipercomanche2506 I'm in love with Comanche! Cool plane. Every cool plane should have the world's most powerful ice air conditioner. FlyKool. If you do a review you can have $250 off.
