- Get a little messy in 2022? Don't mind if we do. Here's my messy, messy bun tutorial. Step-by-step I'm going to talk you through the DOs and the DONTs of the messy bun. The messy bun is great for all hair types from straight to curly. Now it may look simple to achieve the Kendall or Hailey messy bun, but there is more than meets the eye to achieve this look. Hello Jonathan ! I have gorgeous curly hair like yours in the video but I rarely do a bun since I'm not super confident about my hairline. I generally do low buns to hide it and I would like to explore other cool styles. If you can do a tutorial with different hairstyles for receding hairlines it would be amazing ❤

Yes!!! Buns have been around for very long time. My grandma whom passed away in the 80s taught me buns and pins. It's not a hairstyle, it's a tradition!!! 🤣

I'm so grateful he mentioned all the product that has already been in his hair before to make it look so bouncy and healthy and also give it the grip you need to so something like that! Preparation is key! No wet hair, more difficult with freshly washed hair...so important! Most of the people doing these Tutorials just act like their hair is naturally keeping up so easily....which was hard for me to understand since I have the straightest hair imaginable and it's also pretty strong, so hairpins don't even hold it down for the love of God. So thanks, JVN!

Tried this just with my hands, at work - love the result! Yesterday I filmed a vid with full vintage 40s Hollywood glam hair, with an overnight foam roller set all brushed out, so there was still a whole hairspray/product situation going on in my hair this morning, and it TOTALLY helped ✨
