The Chrevolet Cruze is actually quite a good car, I had a 2.0cdti that I bought in 2013 as a 3 year old, ran it for 9 years until a Taxi T-Boned me 14 months ago & the insurance company wrote it off, if that hadn't happened I would still be running it now, it was super reliable family car.

I sold my 08 shogun last august as diesel and tax was a killer. I moved to a 2016 focus 1.0 34k miles and 20 quid road tax. Sold the shogun for 4500 and paid 9700 for the focus. 4 years road tax difference bakes in another 2800. So over the 4 years the focus will have cost me 2400 before i even calculate fuel savings

I always wanted to have a car with a nice powerful engine (perhaps an older one that I can afford). However, I’m now resigned to the fact that any car I buy now will have a maximum engine size of 2.0 litres. Gone are the days of V12 and V8 cars, sadly.
I do really like A6 Allroad's. Lovely to drive. Insignia's are underrated cars too. I've got a 2011 SRI Nav Auto with 105k miles on the clock as my workhorse. Remapped to 206 bhp and 321 lb ft. It’s pretty quick, got loads of torque and is great on the motorway. Had it for 5 years. Not a single thing has gone wrong with it, and it’s passed every MOT without advisories. Cheap as chips motoring. I'll keep it till it breaks as it's only worth 2 balloons.
Auto focus is my go too as well I need crank shaft pulley & cambelt & tensioners . I put all my service parts in . I paid less for the stuff than what crank pulley on its own would cost in the uk
My mk2 Ford Ka is stiffer through the gears and reverse is grinding like mad. It just happened yesterday, fine the day before. Does this sound like the clutch has gone or something else?. Thanks. Only done 65K.
Could be clutch but they do suffer with gear linkages failing becoming hard to engage gear and very stiff. Turn the car off and try put in through the gears, if still feels stiff (note the clutch is not operating) then its a gear linkage issue. if it flows fine and only does it when the engine is on and using the clutch hydraulics its clutch related
In fact we had the same issue with gear linkages just last week on a ford ka2 can be purchased of ebay new for little money if it is that issue. Around 1 hour 30 mins to fit at a garage

some cars are sold really cheap for exampel the Audi A3 S or so from 2011 with 185 k miles for 1250 GBP which would sell here in the EU for a lot more at least in driving condition and with MOT. Would here be sold over 5000€ in auction (net price)
the Cruze is an interesting vehicle. here in Australia they were built as a Holden Cruze and must have been spec'd up a bit on the Chev and perhaps the Vauxhall versions as they still go for good money. I think our 1.6 petrol was a turbo.
Vuxhall / GM did operate a 1.6 turbo petrol engine in Europe and was fitted to the astra H & J models, would not surprise me if they used it in the cruze in Australia as you do like some speed 👍😁
Autodoc i recently started using for parts you are right there prices are good, But as a non business there postage is absolutely awful takes me weeks to get my parts im actually still waiting on one part that Evri still haven't received yet as i am tracking it.

if its 1 year old I would have no concern, the 998cc engine in older vehicles have had some issues but this high mileage cars 5 year +. I like the dacia stepway new model a lot of car for little money

They are, was chuffed when they asked me to do a advert as I do use them and got hold of parts I cannot get sometimes. Last part I had was a engine mount for a kia rio, could not find one but Autodoc had it. Saved my bacon or would of been a lost sale.

Lets be honest AUTODOC have a good range of parts and at reasonable prices but you can wait 3 or 5 or 7 days so if your not in a hurry to get the parts all good but don't except a fast delivery

2017 was soon after Dieselgate. Some sort of ULEZ seemed inevitable after that. I was actually put off buying a diesel in early 2015 due to the number of two year old Audis "rolling coal" whenever they accelerated hard.

There so much rubbish for sale High miles, C/S/N are up for sale as well. Maintenance and Insurance is a big cost factor now. Plus greedy finance companies. I wish I didn't depend on my car it's nightmare keeping it on the road. That not including the idiots out there driving not giving consideration to other drivers.

Your spending as much time at Castleford-Wakefield area as me and i live here, think you should have bud a bit more on the seat Ibiza at 135,000 miles it would still sell at say £1895-1995. Also the 15 plate ragtop Fiat 500 it went for £3300 if you had bought that for £3500ish im positive thats a £5495 car if not more . Even if its a little more than what you sell a week in the Autotrader a young bird my daughter's age mid 20s would be all over it. She wanted a white 500 as her first car she ended up with a 207 no doubt she will buy 1 at sometime.

You would need to leave the UK. Here in Thailand fuel is 75p a litre. Dubai is like 30p a litre.

Most of these cars are either over ten years old (some well over) and with starship enterprise mileage. No wonder they sell cheap.

There so much rubbish for sale High miles, C/S/N are up for sale as well. Maintenance and Insurance is a big cost factor now. Plus greedy finance companies. I wish I didn't depend on my car it's nightmare keeping it on the road.
That not including the idiots out there driving not giving consideration to other drivers.

Your spending as much time at Castleford-Wakefield area as me and i live here, think you should have bud a bit more on the seat Ibiza at 135,000 miles it would still sell at say £1895-1995. Also the 15 plate ragtop Fiat 500 it went for £3300 if you had bought that for £3500ish im positive thats a £5495 car if not more . Even if its a little more than what you sell a week in the Autotrader a young bird my daughter's age mid 20s would be all over it. She wanted a white 500 as her first car she ended up with a 207 no doubt she will buy 1 at sometime.

CV19 Has HIT EVERYONE HARD and that;s why we;er ALL seeing people go for smaller Cheaper Cars even for Cheaper Insurance and cheaper Tax. In America the EV Market was supposed to CLEAN UP THE Environment BUT with the EVs being NON-ROAD TAXABLE the States now have started Charging $1 a mile CAUSING Riots amongst the EV Buyers Because they were PROMISED NO ROAD TAX. I just Sold a VW Polo 1.6Tdi-90-SEL with just 38,000 FSH for £6500 To a Mate, The SAME ££ I payed for it 4 Years ago with just 32,000 On Clock/Docs.
