Hello Cherie, thanks for your video. I think musks are a great choice in hotter weather. Summer is the right season to be wearing them, although they really could be worn anytime for that clean feeling. It's a note that is widely used through much of perfumery in the bases of perfumes. I can be sensitive to them though and I have to be careful as I find they can be a bit scratchy in my sinuses. I haven't tried any of the fragrances you were trying out in your video. I thought I was crazy for not liking NR Pure Musc and Ellis Brooklyn Myth. But both gave me the same sickly feeling to my stomach even though in theory I like their notes. Thanks for your descriptions of musks!
Hi Cherie. Have you ever tried Alaia for her EDP? It's a rose leathery scent with a strong opening but it has a lovely understated musky scent on the drydown. I really love it. And it has great staying power too.
I got Narciso Ambree for Christmas and am in love 💗 especially with the opening! It dries down a bit powdery but it’s so comforting and cozy for winter. Mmmm ❄️ 🇨🇦
I went through 4 samples of the Le Labo Musc 25 and then went to buy a bottle. I sprayed some on my arms, spent a couple of hours with it s I shopped….and for some reason, all I got was the detergent smell… turned me off so much, but strange for such a change of heart. I loved all the samples …couldn’t wait for my full bottle . Oh well…save myself $425.00. I get a bit of headache with the Narciso Rodriguez musks too. Milky Musc…sounds like my next search. Your video kept me company during my hike today. I love your rooftop videos! I love Milky Musk and felt I was alone in my love. I’m glad it’s getting love…..maybe on Tik Tok which I don’t do. 😂. Those little Kayali bottles are adorable and the Kayali musk is one of the few I don’t have.I was also shocked you enjoy Milk, which is something even I find really sweet. 🥰🥰
Fun video! (And I have heart eyes over your rooftop! 😍) I love Milky Musk and even bought a backup bottle. It’s also a crowd pleaser, as I will frequently get stopped and asked what I’m wearing. As a side note, Ellis Brooklyn isn’t a house I’ve resonated with either, but have you tried their Après? Piney, resinous, slightly boozy and a tiny touch of sweetness. Nothing like their other fragrances but really good!
Hmm feeling those summer vibes from your roof :D I think I am not into musks because I do not know any of those perfumes but I like Clair de Musc by SL, especially the drydown with the iris. Enjoy that super weather!
I have a little decant of Clair de Musc on its way to me - I'm glad you like it, that makes me feel better about going straight for the decant rather than trying for a sample first haha
I agree with so much of what you said. I also have a hard time with Xerjoff. I felt the same way about Apollonia. I thought I would love it but I just don't. I also tried Ibitira, which I liked more but not enough to buy. I do own Shunkoin; My only bottle from this house. It smells like coconut sand to me. Love it! My favorite musky scent is Tam Dao EDP by Diptyque. It smells like a sheer rosy sandalwood musk to me. Very easy to wear. For animalic musk I like Bruno Acampora musk oil but I am anosmic to it after a few minutes. I'm adding Milky Musk and Starlight to my sample list. I also want to try Blanche Bete. This was fun. Love this! I feel like you would’ve gotten along with narciso essence, a sweeter out of the shower clean scent, much different that the pure musc version out there. These days, I find myself reaching for Glossier You quite often. Very pretty

Kayali smells very similar to Clean Reserve Skin from my memory . I have it and like it but sometimes find it too sweet. Skin has a praline note, but also salt which I normally can’t do because my skin pulls salty, but somehow this works. The musk scents I’ve been loving lately are: Sunny Side Up -JHAG Royal Musk - Al Haramain (highly recommend) Pure Musc - NR (didn’t like it at first but once I layered it with Musc Noir Rose and then Musc Noir my nose suddenly understood it differently and now I love it! All are affordable too which is nice.
Oh I have not tried Skyn its available here but only as a blind buy (cant get samples). That's good to know I might canvas the frag comm and see if anyone is willing to sell me a sample. Sounds like it might be more interesting. Musk 12 is sweet, I agree. :)
Trying out a sample of The Musc by Essential Parfums and it is really growing on me. There is a beeswax note this is developing and I’m here for it. Thought I’d share. ❤

So I got a sample of Apollonia for myself, and my husband grudgingly smelled it, and actually said he liked it for himself! Got it for him as a gift, and he's been wearing it almost every day. Apparently it's mostly white flowers, so makes sense that it's fleshy/a little animalic.
Hi Cherie! My latest favourite musc is Musc des Sables by Les Indemodables. I love the powdery, iris-y warmth of this perfume, but the price not so much🙄 Fleur de Peau by Diptyque is a long time favourite also, along with Milky Musk. I am on the second bottle of both of them
Love musk in the summer but usually like to wear these closer to the skin (as you mentioned, it can come off soapy smelling). Regrettably years (decade +) prior to my frag journey, I owned the original Khiels version and didn't take to it so gave it away. Having repurchased it within the last two years, it's barely a shadow of what it once was. My favorites are Serge Lutens Clair de Musc & Molinard and seeking a third for the trifecta. Thank you for your picks, gives me something to explore at the end of my year long No Buy (Feb 1st !)
I know you like Panthea by SHL, that's why I am pretty sure you would love Ibitira from Xerjoff. However, this one is always sold out and hard to get. I also own Apollonia but too bad it doesn't last, so it is not only your bottle.
How timely to see this video…I’ve been exploring musks and so far my favorite has been m.micallef royal muska nectar…clean reserve skin is too much for me, but royal muska is just right for working out, bed and breakfast, midday coffee break and winding down at night…I hope you try it and let us know what you think! I would love to know what your first musk pick up is in ‘23 🤗

I think the only one I have tried so far that wasnt in love with was the pink edp - I am definitely a lover of NR fragrances!
