- Ok girlies it’s October and we are in the last quarter of the year ! So let’s sit down and review six gardening and houseplant practices we need to actually stop doing, right now , in the month of October.

Ebuka coming hard with the truth again! I took your advise a few weeks back and got rid of the 4 plants in my collection that always give me anxiety and hardly ever give me any joy anymore. Just chucked them out. Cut them up and chucked them out.
The sense of relief and the fresh, lighter feeling in my home is huge. I still have 60 plants left, but it's remarkable how much of a difference in my mood it has made to finally get rid of those 4 plants that were just hanging on, dying 0.5% more every day and me doing everything I could to keep them alive.
Ebuka, you might not always tell us what we want to hear, but you tell us what we need to hear. Bravo sir, bravo.
Or perhaps you prefer me to say Girlie, in which case I say "Bravo girlie, Bravo, I take my hat off to you, babes" 😉

I find it much easier to get rid of friends than plants!!! I was procrastinating today about watering all of my millions of plants…..so instead I went out & bought some more half dead ones on clearance!! The struggle is real!!!

I exercised extreme self control 2day @ Home Depot. I looked & bought nothing. I only have 18 plants & it feels like I have 100. I'm giving my mom 3 of them next week.

Stop acquiring... easier said than done. When the outdoor gardening season grinds to a halt, what do garden centres do? They stock up on house plants ;-)

You are a breath of fresh air! Love your videos. I am retired and I have quite a fair amount of time to devote to my plants (over 100 in 450 sq. ft.) And yet. Chores have been left wanting, I bought 20 or so new (baby) plants, and there is untidiness a foot. I did get rid of 10 or so big plants and installed grow lights. I am only human, I'm doing my best. By the way there is no more buying of plants until spring. You believe me, right?

I swear TMPD might have my house under surveillance camera's cause I spent this morning repotting 2 starfish sanserveria's and putting together my winter plant emergency kit. I have had great luck this week and found two orchids on clearance so I was moving those chics into new happy planters. Anyone else love finding plant rescues?
That’s what I’m doing. Managing the plants I have. You speak truth. Albeit, the grocery store is selling Thai Constellation for $29.99. I brought one and one for my daughter. 🪴Happy Planting🌿
Not a bad purchase. I went 2 a nursery last week & they wanted over $100 for a Thai C I bought 4 $25 @ BJ's.

I think it's probably dang good advice to consider buying plants that will survive best in one's *worst* season. Then, of course, they will likely flourish during the best ones. Cheers from Iowa, MPD
