So I watched this movie and I don't understand the "We should rename it to the X-Women line", they literally flew a plane into space completely built by Beast, Cyclops blasted the ship to stop it from spinning, Storm froze the openings in the ship, Nightcrawler and Quicksilver saved all the astronauts, and Jean saved them from the pheonix force. Seemed like a team effort, except Mystique did nothing.

The X-Men movie franchise has (to varying degrees) great female characters: Jean, Storm, Rogue, Mystique, but how many times did they save the day? And how many times was the day saved by the men? I guess equal amounts of time.

I really did enjoy the movie, and the two major action scenes were very good. Not showing their powers? the entire train scene was showing off powers in great ways.
I would have change a few things though in regards of the story. Also the end to me was kinda stupid, when the only survivors were the xmen. No human surviving means no one left to tell the tale that it was aliens all along and xmen aren't bad.
Now mutants are as hated as ever which majorly sucks as an end of a franchise. Also makes it difficult for Charles and Eric to play chess in the open at the end

The (Late) 90s are too similar looking to 2010s. Technology has changed a whole lot, but fashion and music then is virtually the same as it is today with only mild variations in style, unlike the 80s, 70s and 60s etc. There's no point making a period piece set in a time that can just as pass for the modern era.
