Bro Finn was promised the leading role I thought he was gonna be a Jedi and Christ after going through hell anakin ends up failing making his sacrifice meaningless.
It's funny you mentioned him being a Jedi. Promotional material for TFA showed him with a lightsaber and Rey with her staff. I would say they did that to throw people off but then the way Disney handled the trilogy I don't think they're that clever. Lol As with a lot of movies they change things but because promotional material is done months in advance such as posters and trailers they don't account for the reshoots.
7) Augh, yes. “I did want to take Ben’s hand” might become my favorite line from the movie. She wasn’t conflicted about joining the dark side; she couldn’t trust that he had turned like she hoped he would at the time. Essentially, “I couldn’t take your hand because you disappointed me, and I was heartbroken by it.”
Bro They could make a good story. In the beggining the fans hate Ahsoka and now he's so mucho beloved. Rey, Finn, Poe, they could be the future. The force is male, the force is female, the force is everything. I'm not angry, i'm sad, to me it was like another Transformers movie

the green lightsaber from the luke/leia training scene is the one luke created for ROTJ, leia's blade was blue and so was the anakin blade and that's what appeared in the rey/ben team up against palpatine...
Was it the reaction though and is she really being truthful? I mean Grace in her video thought Han was a Force Ghost and the cameo by Wedge was John Williams LOL.
I actually think Finn wanted to say to Rey that he has some sort of knowledge of the force. He feels Rey a couple times in the movie, and his intuition surely looks like the light side guiding him Edit: and if you think about it, if it was just "I like Rey" he would probably tell Poe when they are about to die, but if it's "I can use the force" he probably wouldn't say it near first order agents.
@@mub8445 They probably filmed the scene but it didn't make it in the final cut. Will have to wait for the blu-ray extras (although they are usually crap and super incomplete nowadays as no one cares about blu-ray anymore)
I agree, if the film had been more competently written it would have been interesting to see Rey embrace her namesake, and for the film to showcase that just because she's a Palpatine doesn't mean that she's doomed to follow in the footsteps of her grandfather; she can forge her own path.
The whole trilogy is a diseased mess and I hate it though if they made Rey the sith and kylo the Jedi yo defeat her id of forgiven some of it but I can’t believe what they’ve done to Star Wars and the originals particularly. These sequels deserve to die
TrueTargaryen2012 luke already did that he didn’t follow in his fathers footsteps more unoriginal uninspired copying rip off bullshit from this parody cancer sequel trilogy
I really liked this movie regardless of its faults. It's not a perfect movie, but hardly anything is. Overall, I thought it was a satisfying conclusion to the Skywalker Saga. I didn't mind the name change either, Skywalker means savior of the Galaxy, Palpatine means space hitler. Not a hard choice if you ask me.
JakeTheGearHeart I mean, it’s a story made up by people who obviously don’t coordinate. It makes sense to me that the Sith, who promise access to immortality, could heal people. That’s the whole reason Anakin turned to the dark side, to heal Padme. If the Jedi could do it, why would he need to turn to the Sith to gain that knowledge? And it also is thematically more interesting if the Jedi have the power to become force ghosts, immortality in death, and the Sith have the power to heal, immortality in life.
It might have felt too similar to the end of ROTJ and would've seemed off having Ewan there as a force ghost after seeing Alec Guinness in the other movies. We of course heard all of their voices speaking to Rey.
its not about liking or disliking the skipping at the beginning. it is just another thing they added that does not make sense. you cant "skip" after someone because you dont know how far they jumped. in all the prior movies they make such a big deal about trying to charge up to make a light speed jump so you can get out of danger.
Theodore Wolf I wish they would’ve cleared that up because they waffled so much with Finn. Thinking of him in the first movie and all his potential to him being a lost puppy who seems to be in love with the other two leads but no one else they set up for him is a poor choice. Why was his kiss with rose so awkward? Having him reject the other women in the film makes it seem like he does like Rey. That is the filmmakers fault, they shouldn’t have to tell us these things later
After seeing all the reviews I had really low expectations but it ended up being my favorite Star Wars movie. I literally can not see why people don’t like it
See, I'm the complete opposite. It is my least favourite Star Wars film and I cannot see what other people enjoy in it, or is everyone just willingly ignoring this film's glaring issues. But hey ho, we all have our opinions.
Somehow my biggest gripe with this movie is the misuse of Palpatine. THE PALPATINE, the emperor, the guy that manipulated both sides of a war and brought down a government from within... is now somehow reduced to the crazy lightning man. That wasn't Palpatine on screen, that was a poser. Edit: So... now that I've had half a day to think about this movie... honestly I'm not really mad about it anymore. (Surprising to nobody I'm sure) This palpatine is a lot like the palpatine from the original trilogy: powerful and arrogant. I guess my biggest problem with him being in the movie is that somehow he's just... back without any true explanation.
@@victor-nw8ks Nothing they could do would change the fact they squandered Luke. Nothing they could do would change the fact that the writers/directors of this "Trilogy" just didn't give a shit about closing the saga in a way that made sense.
What doesn't make sense to me, about C3PO, is that why would he be forbiden to translate Sith, if his inital programing was done by a young Anakin Skywalker, who didn't even know the Sith existed? Also, his memory was wiped after Luke and Leia were born, so as far as anyone was concerned, he was just a bare bones Protocol Droid, which I assume wouldn't have any reason to have programming that would forbid him from doing anything.
Grace, the end pilot you were talking about that looked familiar wasn't John Williams. It was actually Dennis Lawson returning as Wedge Antilles, John Williams was earlier on Kijimi, looking infuriated when 3PO started talking to him. It's very quick, only my friend got it
At least with star wars we can pretend the story ends with ROTJ and the sequel trilogy is just big budget fan fiction. With GoT however, the entire series was building to an ultimately disappointing conclusion.
The lightsaber continuity worked. In the flashback, the green saber was Luke's from ROTJ and Leia had her own blue saber. Rey had Luke/Anakin's original blue saber from Luke's force ghost catching it and then Luke gave her Leia's blue saber on the island. Luke presumably got rid of the green one.
Lightsaber colors: The flashback with Leia is when Luke has his Green saber made in RotJ. The Blue saber that Rey found at Moz' place is the one Vader cut off in Bespin. Totally fits.
I thought the crossing of the lightsabers was stupid. Like what was the point of having the siblings’ lightsabers if only one person is going to face off against the villain? It completely derails the duality themes of both this trilogy and the franchise, as disjointed as it already is... Luke couldn’t beat the Emperor alone, it took Vader’s help, so I guess that scene only enforced Rey’s “Mary Sue” tendencies. I don’t care that Rey’s crazy powerful, but they wrote out what could have been a cool moment of Rey and Ben standing together in defiance of the Emperor
But didn't you see the way Ben put his hand on Rey's stomach at the end? We think he was healing her, but actually he was force impregnating her whilst she was unconscious. This is now canon.
In fairness to the film, Luke and Leia were her parental figures. It's not like she called herself Rey Solo or something. Rey Plutt would have been amazing though.
The Last Jedi: Maybe she's born with it.
Rise of Skywalker: Maybe she's Palpatine.
Maybe it could be fucking both things. Apparently, that's what it is.
I want you to know this made me laugh out loud when I was alone late at night. Good work.

Am I the only one who thought C3PO was funny in the first third of the movie?
He was one of the few highlights
I know you didn’t mention me but I’m okay too 😂 that part was funny

I bet that JJ intended that, then halfway through filming Kennedy told him, "No, Rey gets all the things."

I actually think Finn wanted to say to Rey that he has some sort of knowledge of the force. He feels Rey a couple times in the movie, and his intuition surely looks like the light side guiding him
Edit: and if you think about it, if it was just "I like Rey" he would probably tell Poe when they are about to die, but if it's "I can use the force" he probably wouldn't say it near first order agents.
But at this point, why NOT say it at all? It could be confirmed but they didn't, and for literally no reason

Rey should have embraced that she is a Palpatine
Make the dark vision Rey real, and then we have meat for another trilogy.
I agree, if the film had been more competently written it would have been interesting to see Rey embrace her namesake, and for the film to showcase that just because she's a Palpatine doesn't mean that she's doomed to follow in the footsteps of her grandfather; she can forge her own path.
she would be solo you know what i mean
The whole trilogy is a diseased mess and I hate it though if they made Rey the sith and kylo the Jedi yo defeat her id of forgiven some of it but I can’t believe what they’ve done to Star Wars and the originals particularly. These sequels deserve to die

Why didn't Obi-Wan just heal Qui-Gon like Rey healed Kylo..?
I think it's only a dark side ability...
Because that was real Star Wars and this is fan fiction.
@@JAMES51990 Healing is not a dark side ability. And baby Yoda just did it in the Mandalorian.
JakeTheGearHeart
I mean, it’s a story made up by people who obviously don’t coordinate.
Simple. He couldn’t

its not about liking or disliking the skipping at the beginning. it is just another thing they added that does not make sense. you cant "skip" after someone because you dont know how far they jumped. in all the prior movies they make such a big deal about trying to charge up to make a light speed jump so you can get out of danger.
Everything about this trilogy felt like they weren’t sure what they were doing. This review clinches that sentiment.
Completely agree.

I felt so sad that all of the OG characters passed and when Kylo gave his life for Rey
That's quite a weird definition of "all". 3 of the OG heroes and one villain have died, but Lando, Chewie, R2 and 3PO all survived.
JJ stated that Finn was going to tell Rey he could feel the force and sense her. Had nothing to do with Romance.

I actually liked the rise of skywalker. After last jedi my bar was low.

Han Solo was not a ghost he was a memory
Grace, the end pilot you were talking about that looked familiar wasn't John Williams. It was actually Dennis Lawson returning as Wedge Antilles, John Williams was earlier on Kijimi, looking infuriated when 3PO started talking to him. It's very quick, only my friend got it

@@alexsummers4985 - He manipulated Voldemort into killing himself
The lightsaber continuity worked. In the flashback, the green saber was Luke's from ROTJ and Leia had her own blue saber. Rey had Luke/Anakin's original blue saber from Luke's force ghost catching it and then Luke gave her Leia's blue saber on the island. Luke presumably got rid of the green one.
But anakin's lightsaber was lost when Vader cut Luke's arm in TESB. It is not explained how it reached Maz Kanata's hands
@JB JG Good point, maybe he made a new green one or grabbed it offscreen in ROTJ.
Jackson Wolk why don’t you just be happy
Jackson Wolk isn’t crossing the lightsabers bad, won’t that cause total protonic reversal!?
This trilogy effectively negates the Skywalkers. The entire thing is the Palpatine saga. The Skywalker's are extinct. Palpatine wins.
The prequels were just as much Palpatine as they were Anakin's story.
But didn't you see the way Ben put his hand on Rey's stomach at the end? We think he was healing her, but actually he was force impregnating her whilst she was unconscious. This is now canon.
