- In today's video let's talk about what to do if you've received the following rejection notice from USCIS: "The payment amount is incorrect, or has not been provided. Please review the Form Instructions for free information. Please resubmit the application/petition package with the appropriate fees to the address listed on the bottom of this page."
This happens frequently and is not a reason to give up! Here are my tips on how to resubmit your rejected applications. I also talk about what can you do if your medical exam I-693 was opened or is missing.

Hi, Our I-131 and I-765 returned. Here's the Rejection Notice from USCIS.
"The payment amount is incorrect. Please resubmit the application/petition package with the appropriate fees."
My question is do we have to redo the forms and evidence, OR keep it as is and send it with the appropriate fee's?
People keep saying don't be stupid and read the papers. For me we're dealing with the USCIS. They don't know how little mistakes can turn to REJECTION/DENIED!

@@hirogrca if the forms didn’t expire yet and have the same edition date at the bottom as on their site, you don’t have to redo them.
DO NOT send the G-1450 and a check with your application, mine was rejected for having 2 forms of payment

I just received my spousal green card packet back in the mail rejected due to incorrect payment amount on i-485 personal check. The I-693 medical was opened and stapled to other documents. It does have barcode printing on the bottom. From what ive gathered online , people have successfully sent it back the way it is without issue but you're saying they will 100% reject it? If they do reject the returned 693, they won't reject the entire packet and send it back again, will they? They will schedule an interview or send me an RFE in worse case scenario? Thank you
@@robmijn you can try resending it. If they reject the medical you’ll simply get an RFE for a new one.
The exact same thing just happened to me. The whole package was returned due to the wrong fees sent, and the sealed envelope of the I-693 was opened. The paperwork inside form I-693 was returned with a barcode printed on the bottom (the whole package has the printing like that). Did you send the documents back like that, correcting only the fees?
@@MrArbl1234 Yes I did. I just wrote new checks and sent it back exactly how it arrived back to me except I put the yellow paper on top as instructed. I'll let you know if they accept the returned and opened 693 without any issue. I did just get receipt notices for all 3 forms so that's a good sign. However, when I added the case to my online account, it says 44 month waiting period!! I hope it's not accurate.
@@robmijnGetting the receipt notices is definitely a good sign. I’m going to do the same thing you did. A friend of mine just got his green card 3 months after sending the applications. I sent my package to the Dallas lockbox two weeks ago and got it returned yesterday. I think that’s not too bad. Sometimes, those estimated times aren’t accurate at all. Good luck!

I had my file returned for payment issue and a lot of things came up and it has been a year and I am just now resubmitting it. The I-129f is still the current version. Will the dates I put on the application, Letter of Intent to marry...etc need to be updated or no?

Hi! I got my package back but the thing is while I was waiting for it back I overstayed my visa and in all forms it says that I didn’t overstay (forms were sing in June and visa expired at the end of July )should I refile it again or send it back with new payment and don’t change anything?

All my forms were rejected and they don’t explain the specific reason just says make sure that you are filled fully. Nobody answer the contact center.
Hi @Kseniya .. my concurrent filings got rejected due to payment failed (personal checks) i got the mails from them receipt notices, access code notices then case rejection notices.. But no files sent back to me.. Do I really need to wait for these files back or can I resubmit everything as a new application? The case rejection cites that “You must submit a new application or petition along with a new filing fee and supporting documents” Appreciate your help. Bless you!

Thought of sending the entire new application instead of waiting for the files back, don’t want to lose more time.. I will take it literally what’s on the case rejection as quote “USCIS will take no further action on your request. Thank you! Your channel has been so helpful! I am currently compiling all my documents and supporting evidence and I had a question. Do i need to submit copies of the same supporting documents for each application or if it is already included in a previous application, is it fine to just refer to that document? (for example, my birth certificate in the I-130 shows the relationship to the household member for I-864, do i need multiple copies or can I just refer to the copy in the other application? Thanks!

Let's say h1b petition is filed on June 26th and on july we rejection notice then in that case , would we be able to resubmit the pettition because june month end is the last date for filing the h1b petition.
When I am re-submitting, should I take out all the various rejection notices stapled on each form or should it be submitted just like that?

Hello, my credit card was declined used for the I-485 payment. It has been more than a month, no news, no update, no receipt notice, nothing came back. Resubmitting a new application will be fine? I don't want to wait by wasting time for the green paper of that comes with the returned package.

In that case, if I resubmit a new package without the green paper which I have not got yet because the package has not been sent to me yet, will it delay the process since I read somewhere "It is recommended to wait, submitting a duplicate application could lead to confusion or delays in processing." How much correct is that? Do you have any idea? The bottom line is "If initiating a new application and resubmitting that without waiting for the returned package is fine, I want to go for that." i don't want to waste time. Hi Kseniya! I have a quicn question. You've mentioned it's okay to resend the forms even with the barcode at the bottom. However in my case, I will have to reprint a few pages (for example, my I-94 status has changed since I initially filed). Is it okay to reprint ONLY a few pages? Then they obviously won't have these barcodes at the bottom... I am worried about that but would not want to waste so much paper reprinting it ALL again when I know there's no issues with it.

My card got declined and I asked my credit card why and they said because they didn’t enter the CVV code but yet on the application there wasn’t an option to put those 3 numbers on the back in! Very frustrating

Mine got rejected too because of my bank declined. I found somewhere says it takes 2-3 weeks to get the application back. Lets keep in touch i hope it comes in 2 weeks
Why did your bank reject a personal check? Isn’t that guaranteed to be approved if they cash it, did you have the funds available in the account?
@@perry3770 for "suspicious activity", I had funds everything ready. Cashier's check I guess is the best way
@@jomatoktosun yeah a big red flag on the application is that it does not ask for CVV code and a lot of credit cards will deny the transaction if a charge is done without it.

If you payed by money order from the bank originally, but the payment was wrong (missing the biometric fee), you can use the original check for $595 and just add a second check for the $85? They didn't cash the original check if they rejected, right?

You just need to send two. the payment for the i-485 form 1225$ and the i-130, , others forms sending concurrently with i-485 are free. if your case is marriage base

I was directed that when filing I485 together with I765, there is no filing fee because it goes together, so it's only the 1225 for i485 application that's necessary.

I submitted mine and checked the delivery date and my check was cashed 4 days later. Usually payment is taken within 1-2 weeks of being delivered. Hope this helps!
My i 485 got rejected due to payment issue. My question is can I reapply even if the date is not current right now? But it was current 2 weeks ago when I had filed it. Will they accept it as the date it was first applied?

I have tried paying with my US debit card, my friends US credit card and a check issued by a friend because i didnt have a checkbook. USCIS did not take any of theses payments. Don't know why. Any idea?
Only stick to one payment method they will reject your forms for combined payments

@@amitbaniya8877 Hi Amit, I'm sorry that this happened to you too. I never received the package so after I waited for like 2 weeks, I print out everything and submit a new application. I remember I attached the rejection notice and explanation letter issued from my bank saying it was their internal mistake that caused the bounced checks. Good luck!

Sorry, our bank just notified us that the payment didn’t go through so I know that means they denied it and will send it all back. I only have 11 days to file for Removal of Conditions I-751 before my green card expires. So I don’t know how long it will take for USCIS to send the whole package + the green letter that I have to resubmit back.. and I don’t want to file late because I know that will have consequences. So I was wondering, if my package isn’t going to be delivered by Friday to just resubmit and write a personal letter that I put on top of the application that said that I couldn’t wait for my package to be returned with the green letter I had to put into the resubmitted application and hope they will accept that. I am running out of time.. I know I filed a little too close to the end but I just didn’t think there would be a credit card issue.. we made sure the credit card is working all fine now and they will be able to process it now. But I might have to resubmit without the green letter to come in first, since I only have 11 days left in my green card. I hope I explained it better now, sorry!

did you resend the same copy of the documents with the immigration stamp at the very end of the application and document copies
I just received mine with stamp on all docs on the bottom of the page. In addition the first page of I-751 has a strikethrough. Did you submit yours with stamps/strikethrough on the bottom of each page? Thanks!

Hi, when you said we don't need to print anything and can just resubmit everything as it is after double checking and making sure the signatures and everything is correct, does that also mean we can send the packages with the uscis staples on as they came or do we need to remove the staples? Is getting rejected twice due to payment errors bad
If your medical exam is within one year you don’t have to reseal it. You don’t even have to rearrange the documents. Just fix what you have to fix, take out what you want or add what you want to add and send it back the same way it came. That’s how they like it to be so don’t mess it up.
So I just add a new payment authorization form on too of everything?

@nanaqwequ2368 my forms came back stapled together, should I leave it as is or remove them. Also I'd like to withdraw one of the applications the I-131 because of the fees I'm subjected to is it okay if I did so and just mention it in a new cover letter? TIA
@@AngelaMercyDavis I did same, i withdrew 131 and added my checks. Do NOT take them apart. Just leave everything the way it came. That makes it easier for them to process once it goes back. If you mess it up it may take longer to process. Yes and amend the cover letter.
@@AngelaMercyDavis yes! Do NOT touch it. Take out the form 131 and add your checks or money order and send it back the same way it came. The way they have stapled it together is how they like it to be so don’t mess it up.
Uscis returned my application due to the fee changes on April 2024, however they didn’t return my medical exam at all, is it safe to assume that they are keeping it and waiting for me to resubmit my application with correct fee or do have to get a new medical exam done ?
They should have sent everything back to you they can’t keep your stuff if it’s rejected
@@KseniyaInternational Hi! They also returned all of my forms, the medical form included. They unsealed it. Am I able to resend everything including the medical application even if USCIS unsealed it? They initially say you can't send it unsealed, but since they were the ones opening it, I wonder if I can resend it. Thank you

What happens if it’s been over 2 months after submitting I-129f and I havnt heard anything back from USCIS? I did notice that my money order was incorrect as I did not put the right amount of fee 😢 should I just resubmit everything all over agian with the right amount? Or should I just wait it out? Yes I finally did recieved the rejection mail letter from uscis saying that they going to return my package back but i have never received the package either so I hired a agent to take care of it and we resubmitted a whole new package just lastnight I received a case number and that they received my application.
@@Teeheehee12 how long after did you get that USCIS mail? Also What do you mean by an agent? But don’t you need a green paper because it is a resubmission? I don’t want more issues if I resubmit but what did the agent do differently?
Oh it took me a few months to received that letter.. I submitted back In February and just got that rejection letter in may so 3 months or so.. the reason they rejected my application was because my payment fee was incorrect. So they were going to send back my application but I havnt got it yet. That’s why I went to an immigration agent and hired them to handle my case cause I work full time now and don’t have time to touch those paper now. So we just submitted a new application acouple weeks ago and finally got a case.

Hi Kseniya! My application got denied and sent back. They marked a long code at the bottom of every single page. I also noticed that on the first page of the application, someone drew a line across the form barcode at the bottom and initialed the page. Can I still reuse and send back the same application form?

Do you need to change the signature date on your returned package? Or can you keep the original signature date?
I think I resigned only the new forms I had to print. I believe there was only a 2 week discrepancy and everything went well

My wife's time on her tourist visa is soon to expire. Our application that she worked extremely hard on was rejected. I saw my credit app give me a notice immediately and said I approved it, but it was too late. Now we have to wait 2-3 weeks to get our packet back to send back with a money order to be 100% safe. Can we resubmit before our packet returns without the green notification (Or type on a bright green form our reason for resubmitting). We are certain that all of our forms are filled out correctly, it was this stupid scenario of the payment not going through. I don't want to risk waiting for so long and her time to leave comes. She's worked extremely hard and this fumble is causing a big issue with us. :(
I was in a similar position where my wife was out of status for a couple of months, we were advised by our lawyer to under no circumstances have her leave.

I know you have to submit the green paper on top but the USCIS stapled the i797c on top of it. Do i need to remove it or do i also submit the i797c?
I got mine back as well with same thing. i797c on top of Green papaer and everything else rearranged as well. I am removing the i797c and send it back. What did you do?
@@bhavnalumba i sent back everything as is except i put the i797c under the green paper. I even carefully used the same staple they used and put it all back in place

I was thinking the same thing but I got advice from legal team… it is best for you to wait. Mines came in the mail as soon as I was about to give up and resubmit. But you need that green paper that they’re going to send with the rejection packet. Just be patient!🙏🏾

@@kedeshahall8175 We got our I-765 form back without any of the supporting documents that were submitted along with it, due to a payment error. Do we resubmit the whole package along with the supporting documents? or Do we re submit just the I-765 document that was returned?
I sent out the packet for my spouse (I-130,i-485,and I-765, I-693) and realized the check I wrote for the I-485 was the wrong amount.. I am just waiting for the rejection notice and it returned in the mail. But will they process the I-130 since that payment was correct? Also, I won't have to reseal the medical 693 if it's opened, right?

@@sabrinashankar4977 I did get it back. The medical was open but I just fixed the payment amount by writing all new checks and sent it back out exactly how it was returned to me. At this point, I feel it's a coin flip if they are going to send an RFE for a new medical or just accept it since they were the ones who opened it initially. What I found interesting is they stapled the envelope of the medical to the medical forms , perhaps to indicate it was once sealed ? Ill let you know In the future if I get sent a RFE or not.

This is false. You can resubmit the same medical forms even after they opened it. You don't have to get a new sealed package. They already scanned the pages and they know they opened it themselves. So don't waste time and money getting a new sealed I-693 package. Just resubmit the same one they rejected.

Hi! I submitted for the AOS(I-485 & I-765), it was through my credit the I-485 got accepted because I needed to get it authorized but my I-765 got rejected. I received the rejection notice, but I am confused on what I did wrong because it was filed with I-485 so it should be $260 which is what I did. Please any help is appreciated. @KseniyaInternational
