Yesterday you asked about where the ‘90’s fans went. Watching Dr Punch is definitely 90’s. Bring doc back to the weekly broadcast again. Give him a microphone on the weekends and let him work out on pit road again. He was the best!

Dr Jerry Punch to me to this day is the best pit road reporter of all time n to do that job plus be a Dr when needed on pit road, you need to be a very special n talented individual. Everyone should be thankful for all the lives he has helped or has saved within the racing community.

Dick's leather jacket, hat, and PhD reporting from pit road were pretty cool to this kid.

I meet Dr. Punch when Ernie Irvan crashed at Michigan in the 28 car. He and Benny Parsons brought us subs and filled us in on Ernie, that was a horrible crash and the Dr calmed us down with his explanation of what was happening. I’m glad he did this interview with you.

Kenny, you know how great it was to see Dr. Jerry Punch again? Great! He looks terrific and adds a calm demeanor to racing. Always has. Thank you so much for having him on with you and telling the scary story of Rusty’s crash on Hoosier tires. Come back, Dr. Punch, if you’ve still got the desire. So many incidents happened and he was right there on the scene. ❤️

I've said for years and years, I always wanted to meet the 2 non-driver/owner men who brought my favorite sport to life: Winston Kelly and Dr. Jerry Punch. I'll get to the NASCAR HOF one day and meet Winston but unless some broadcasting service offers this man an on-aur, at the track gig that he will accept, I'm relegated to watching his guest appearances. The wealth of knowledge and stories and people experience locked away in Doc's head is truly mindboggling. I'd buy two copies if he'd write a book about NASCAR during the ESPN years.

I'd still like to know why Rusty had blood trickling out the corners of his mouth like Doc said ? Ham sandwich wouldn't look like blood. I've always slugged down cold Cokes and at the track too. I had a bad wreck at Highland Rim speedway Tenn. in a limited car, early 80's, impact jerked one shoe off & nearly strangled me to death from all that Coke foam coming up my windpipe. Every track needs a Dr. Punch.

I went to High School in the late 70’s.
My auto shop teacher was in a war as an aircraft mechanic.
He was working on something from a ladder.
He slipped and lost his balance kicking the ladder out from underneath himself.
His finger with wedding band caught a protrusion and he was left hanging his entire body weight by a finger.
The boys got him up and out of there and surprisingly he didn’t lose his finger. Just another story about jewelry.
