Man, I wanted that shirt so bad and I wish they can bring it back...everytime I cut myself while working on a car and getting the job done right, I say at the end "dayum, that hurt so good!" ...lol! But a cut is nothing like what "ironman" went through. Pain and all he was one tough customer and still got the job done! To me, that's the can do attitude our society is missing today...miss you dale! Forever the man, forever a fan!

If you watched NASCAR in the 80's or 90's, you wish Jerry and Dave Despain would stick around in the NASCAR pits forever. As good at their jobs as their voices were for broadcast. They live in all our memories of NASCAR. Nice that we still have Mike Joy giving NASCAR more than 30 years of service!

I remember that day Dale climbed out of his car and he didn't want to speak at all, definitely was very emotional, not only for him but for us true die hard Dale fans as well! Dale knew, as we all did, nobody else could or would ever drive that #3 like he did....can't even imagine the emotions he was going through!

427BELAIR 427 That brought back great memories Dr Punch knew when to get that mic out of his face Imiss both so bad but I’m a fan of NASCAR since Richard Petty I’ve been blessed to view so many years of races I cant get enough lol I always wonder what the sport would be like if Dale didn’t get killed! I miss him although Dale Jarrett was my man .

@@dannycoker6439 I wonder about that, too, but I do know one thing; Earnhardt would have been forced to hang up the helmet sooner than he may have wanted. His death was supposedly the catalyst for all of the safety innovations, and that was partially true, but those innovations were soon coming anyway, regardless. Because of pressure from the corporate insurance oligarchy, which has strangled other sports as well. (And do you really believe seat belt laws are out of concern for your safety?) Earnhardt didn't want to run restrictor plates. "Move the grandstands back and let us race," he said. Hell, he refused to even wear a full-face helmet, because he said he could tell exactly where other cars were beside him by the subtle change of air pressure in the cockpit. So could you really see him strapping on a HANS, and buckling into a seat, more like a cocoon, with no peripheral vision?

I'm not even into racing or Nascar. But as a child I always liked Dale and would watch him a little. I remember the day he passed where I was and what I was doing when I found out what happened. There is something very special about that man. And I've been watching a lot of old clips of him and Richard on RUclips and listening to people share memories they have with him just good stuff. But what I love about Richard is how he stands with his driver's and really has there back.

I believe I've seen it. But I'll go back and check it out again I didn't realize how bad ass Davey was when I watched it. That's another thing I've realized watching all the old Dale Earnhardt videos there was a lot of great drivers who lost their life to this sport and to hear people say Nascar is Dead is scary to think we would let this sport die. I think that's what makes me want to become a fun and support Nascar is all the men who lost their life for the sport. I'm going to watch the Darlington race it will be the first full Nascar race I've ever watched.

it's not gonna make any difference - NASCAR or the sport I grew up with in the 70s , 80s and into the 90s is gone and
it'll never come back - for 2 simple reasons - These drivers aren't relatable and the "stock " cars they drive aren't attainable for the majority of the rank and file who at one time didn't dare drive a Chevy if you were an Elliott fan or a Ford if you pulled for the 3 car - it didn't happen - now ? it's not even hardly thought about

  • @Houndini

My feeling its nothing about teams running now. RCR did great. But even RCR needs the sport.
Its Nascar need change back to there roots give teams a chance that not got millions dollars per year. Might need gas money get back home on. If there equipment safe & they make the field honestly put them in it, bounce bigger name team out starting line-up. Not save every spot for big sponsorship's only. That appear going on now.
Everybody loves a Underdog. And If they can? Help the small teams out. Then the fans, Think anybody can rake & scrap up enough money buy a used car, Update & reskin it & make the show with Talent & Lots of Hard Work. Then maybe fans come back. Bottom line no fans-no money - no sport. Not enough butts in seats now days. bottom line.
