After a year of owing it I still love this watch. The bad things are: the digital window is a bit too small and the light is very weak (and a yellow-ish light - not the bright blue light of g-shocks). But for the $ it is awesome. And it is sooooo light you hardly feel it on your arm -- very high comfort watch! Thanks for watching!
The 3,6,9,12 digits ie numbers on my AQ-S810W-1B are luminous. It took me 5 mins to program my watch...i used a casio manual from casio's site and was reading it of my cell phone. $40 on ebay ($8 for postage from the US).....nearly twice that online in South Africa. Only took 1 month to get here. Very happy
I ordered one just yesterday - ten years after your review! I needed a new 'work watch' because my old G-Shock finally stopped working after more than ten years of use. I specifically wanted an analogue watch this time because my eyes aren't quite what they used to be and the tiny digital displays are getting a bit hard to read, the Illuminator's large black and white face looks like it will be very clear and easy to see. I'll try to set the little screen to display the date all the time, I think that's all I'll use it for. The luminous hands should allow me to see what time it is a night without having to use the light plus anything 'glow in the dark' is pretty cool! There are a couple of reasons why this model is lighter than a true G-SHOCK (which everyone probably knows by now but I'll mention them anyway) firstly, the 'glass' in the watch is only a plastic or 'resin' as Casio call it which is lighter than a mineral crystal lens (but more prone to scratching) and secondly this watch is only water resistant to 100 metres where as most G-SHOCKS are good for 200 metres so they don't have to be a strongly built. I paid ninety five (Australian) dollars for mine so if you still have yours it may prove to be a good investment - they seem to have tripled in value over the last ten years!

Thanks very much for your review, because (by studying your time change sequence) I was able to reset it successfully. Particularly helpful as the manual's been mislaid.
Well had to return it today. It had malfunctioned. Had both times set to "home" and the times still did not sync. But exchanged it for another one and this one works perfectly!!! :)
It is miles better than the ana-digi G-shocks and Protreks. They light up the face, but the digital display is recessed, and the shadow it casts make it unreadable. Casio needs to put this module in a true G-shock case. You made a good choice, mine is my daily beater now.
yes. what you need to do is hold the the Adjust (for about 6 seconds) button until it says h.set. then set the minute and hour hand to the 12:00 position. then press adjust again. then set the time on the digital (hold adjust until it says adjust) then keep pressing Mode until it gets to the time. and once you've done that it should work. if it dosent. reply

LOL, I have 40 watches, about 20 of them over $1000. And I wear this watch pretty much every single day. Bought it at a drugstore in Hawaii for 50 bucks when I lost my Orange monster diving. It has what the G-shock ana-digi's don't have, and that is a backlit display. The G-shock lighting is useless to read the digi display. If they put this module in a G-shock case, it would be the last watch you would ever need. I am curious as to how many years I get out of the solar battery. Great watch.

You're welcome! Yes, I had hoped the entire watch lit up, however, you will find there is pretty good lume on the face. But, the light on the little digital window is pretty weak.

i just got one today as a present. i usually wear Seiko, Citizen.. mid-level kinetic analog watches.. this will be my first digital-type watch since elementary school, lol. But i like it.. it's SUPER light.. it weighs nothing.. barely noticeable. The digital will actually improve the accuracy.. we'll see :)
Portable Wares oh yea.. i forgot a point.. the reason i needed a new watch is because those mid-level kinetic watches break down frequently. i paid $250 for my Seiko Kinetic and it had condensation which eventually stopped working. Then i tried a Kenneth Cole watch that ran me $160 or so.. and the analog arms fell off then dropped into the Kinetic machinery. i've never had a top-teir watch.. but $250 is a lot of money for me. FYI: i take care of my watches. i clean it, don't wear it into the shower, and am cautious around water.
Thanks for the review. These look great, but I don't get why it only illuminates the tiny digital area, which may bit even be set to display time. A lot od Casios call themselves "Illuminator" but it doesn't seem to be a guide ti how good the illumination actually is. Some seem to be like Timex's indiglo, others seem to be a tiny light that's barely adequate.
Sorry Colinfarel that I didn't think to include that in the video, but to give you reference ... the alarms and hourly tones are just as loud as my two G-shocks. Hope that helps.

Bargain budget watch - the 'tough solar' and 'illuminator' text is now just shiny black (polished with wear). There is no 'crystal', it's plastic - well protected and has one or two scratches after 4 years, but perfectly legible. Easy to read with bad eyesight in bad light/when riding motorcycle (and can put on outside the jacket in the rain...). Still good for swimming, solar means battery life should be good for maybe 20 years unless you abuse it (like keep it in a drawer for 2-3 years to go flat). Cons: Timex indiglo is friendly to read in the dark with no glasses - this thing only lights up the LCD, so you must have sharp eyes to read the time (kind of defeats the issue with the bold easy-read).

Just flatten Brasso on the screen, then rub with a soft cloth with maximum finger pressure. Do it in 5 minutes, add more Brasso if it starts to dry, then wash the watch with soap and running water. Then the watch screen will look like a new watch.
Bought the green one 3 days ago and all I can say is that the glass gets easily scratched. Unlike the G-Shock GA100 I have for about a year already and no scratches on the screen.

I just got tire of changing batteries on watches and then their water proof abilities are gone im on the water a lot im from miami so hopefully this gorgeous watch fix the problem...........also the sun is super strong down here so how long do u charge it for .thanks for the vid and feed back.

I've hit a small problem and hopefully you can help. My Casio TS is one minute fast and I can't re-set the digital time correctly (at which point I could probably persuade the analogue to behave thereafter). How do I set/amend the digital time?
Marcozr1, I am guessing you have world time on your digital -- not the "home" time. Just hit the mode button until you get to home time (both digi and analogue will be the same). Hope this helps.
I drew on my with a black felt pen, I got one for £20. I wore it at work, it was the worst day of my life, not because of the watch, but I associated it with that day! I had to get rid of it, how mad is that? For the money, it was too good to be true, plastic lens and not being a g shock were the only negatives. It has real wrist presence too.
That must be man measurement size 46 inch your hands must be fekin massive as it looks like a 45/50mm watch .see if a woman measured it it would have been mm i keep tellin the misses shes useing the ruler wrong

Have you had issues with the watch don't have enough charge. Can regular house like charge this watch or does it have to be sunlight

700 H is similar as a little bigger screen 10-year battery that's a nice watch also
